    Do you still carry that Bookkeeper deacidification spray?

    My collection is comprised mostly of folded U.S. one-sheets. Can you recommend any brand of archival, acid-free bags I can store them in? Thanks!

    Is the bookkeeper spray necessary for short-term storage let's say 5 to 10 years?

    • @BagsUnlimitedRochester
      @BagsUnlimitedRochester  5 лет назад +1

      Ideally you would want to mitigate acid as soon and as much as possible before storage with polyester or any plastics really. The thing about polyester or mylar is that it does not "breathe". That can be a good thing if what you put in it is pH neutral but a bad thing if it keeps acids inside the sleeve.

    are you familiar with Baroque Portfolio & if so your opinion on their large portfolios for long term storage?

    Matt wasn't wearing his white gloves. How crude. That sound when you were pushing the box lid down--Matt, too, right?
    j/k, great products and methods!

      Good eye! However, the poster was already sleeved when Matt was handling it. ; ) No reply on the box closing noise! Thanks for the comment!

    do all the backing boards thick or not so fit into the mylar or the polypropylene sleeves without to much of a tight squeeze. I would be worried of the sides splitting. thankyou for answering my questions.

    • @BagsUnlimitedRochester
      @BagsUnlimitedRochester  7 лет назад +1

      The corresponding backings are made to fit in the sleeves(mylar and polypro) but we don't size them to specifically fit in the vinyl top loaders. There shouldn't be an issues of splitting on either sleeve material if the posters are inserted correctly. However, if you have any problems with any of our products we will replace them without a doubt at no cost to you.

    About the top loaders (app2943 and app3040), (1) for how long are they safe for archival storage? is this method approved by the LOC? (2) don't top loaders have an open top? If so, if you hang the poster in a top loader, won't dust fall into the opening? (3) when using the top loader, will the microchamber paper and the .04thick backer boards you specify fit inside? Or does one not need the backer since the loader is stiff? In that case, should the microchamber paper be the only additional item laced in the loader? (5) and finally, if one only has to insert the microchamber paper with the poster, can two posters be inserted, one of either side of the microchamber paper? Thanks in advance for your answer?

      Vinyl toploaders are not safe for archival storage.
      The method in our video, done using polyester sleeves, is an approved method, and approved materials via the LOC.
      Using backing with polyester is recommended if you want to support the poster and handle the polyester sleeve.
      Yes, there should be no reason to to think that two posters of the same dimensions could rest back to back with a sheet of microchamber paper sandwiched in between them.
      To be clear, in this video, we are NOT using top loaders and would never recommenced them for archival storage. We are using a LOC approved polyester material with our Archival Armor poster sleeves.

    How many one sheets (both sides) can the bookkeeper spray cover before running out? Thank you.

    • @BagsUnlimitedRochester
      @BagsUnlimitedRochester  3 года назад

      That's a good question. To be on the safe side, I think no more than 40, but would err closer to 30. Sorry for the delayed response!

    Does the sleeve/bag seal around the open edge to keep it air tight?

    • @BagsUnlimitedRochester
      @BagsUnlimitedRochester  7 лет назад

      Some of our sleeves do seal but they are not air tight. You wouldn't want to completely seal them in however as it wouldn't allow for off gassing from what's inside the sleeve. Potentially leading to worse deterioration. Thanks.

    can you hang this on a wall in this sleeve for display and is the sleeve uv protected to do this

    • @BagsUnlimitedRochester
      @BagsUnlimitedRochester  7 лет назад

      We would not recommend you hang it on the wall as it's not so rigid that it would stay flat. Sorry, no. Polyester with UV inhibiting properties would not be considered an archival material. If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask! Thanks.

      @@BagsUnlimitedRochester How do you hang posters and smaller paper items without having to use expensive frames?

    • @BagsUnlimitedRochester
      @BagsUnlimitedRochester  3 года назад

      @@msd2000 what we recommend doing is using a top loader that fits your respective paper items. www.bagsunlimited.com/category/575/toploaders-for-prints-posters
      And pair it with one of our poster hanging kits. www.bagsunlimited.com/category/578/print-poster-hangers

    How many posters can one box hold?

    • @BagsUnlimitedRochester
      @BagsUnlimitedRochester  6 лет назад +1

      A 2” poster box will hold up to 30 posters with a thinner alpha cellulose style backing, and only 12 to 15 using a corrugated backing.

    It must be nice to use backing that doesn’t arrive with smashed corners, like they do every time for me. Improve how you ship these products.
