Who is listening to this simply beautiful song in 2025 would love to go back in time best music ever
I used to hear this song 🎵 all the time on the radio back in the 70's. I'm 66yrs old now and the 70's and 80's were the best time's growing up. Rock n' roll will never ever die! Who's listening in 2024? Tonight we turn our clocks back an hour. Don't forget your memories and all the good times you had in your life.😊🎉❤
It will live forever
I’m 57 . My folks raised me on great 8 trak music
I’m 66 also it was the best of times for sure!
I'm in the 66 club also and have this Album. Was a great one and good times in those days. Hey you can actually understand every word. If I only knew then what I know now....
I’m 67 and used to hear Firefall on my long trips driving home while in the military. Great memories!! 2:32
At age 69, I am so glad I grew up in a time of the best music ever produced!
Me too we had great groups and music like Firefall😢❤
I’ve been seeing these bands when ever they come to Chicago. Great times!
I'm 64 know what you mean
61 here. Same feeling, bro!
U got that right
Whos listening in July 2023? Come with me...we are going back to 1978...LETS GO!!!!!
Right here, with you!!!!
I totally agree great times in 1978

2024 and I’m still listening
Music today is so sad compared to the 60's and 70's!! Young kids don't know what they missed.
We get to enjoy both eras
This is so true
Class of 72 checking in - you are correct and it's a shame
I agree so sad.
I don’t see this song as happy.
Of course I'm listening. The 70's and early 80's was nothing but perfect music. I forgot to mention the late sixties.
Quarantined and wishing I could go back to 1978 when I didn’t have a care in this world
Oh man that is so true...me too
@@kathienordstrom4530 I agree this is one of the best bands I ever heard..and there have been a lot of them...I never heard a bad song by them...
Me too, innocent times. I was 11
70's was the best, dam I sure miss the good ole days
@@Sparky62764 Pinto or Vega? Lol. 73 Toyota Corona 4 door for me.
Bands with actual talent and great cars made the 70's unlike any other decade since.
truer words may not have been spoken
The 70s were just an extension of the sixties if we ignore disco and some glam.
@60sPsycheFanatic Covid was like Disco. It came, screwed everything up, then faded away.
When music was magical. And performed by talented musicians.
1978 Stellwagon Bank Southeast of Gloucester 11.00 pm aboard the Misty Ann when this song really captured the moment
Exactly brother, I have played in alot of bands over my time...nothing great just an above average bar bands mostly. This type music is the best to perform and people appreciate you for it. The most requested songs come from the 70's Oh, and you had better know Mustang Sally and Free bird....
A MASTERPIECE: LYRICS, VOCALS, ARRANGEMENTS, smooth RHYTHM CHANGES, SWEETENING flute, keyboard, bongos, letting song BREATHE, not rushed, forced, each instrument blends creating a musical tapestry. BRAVO! 💖🙏🏾🎵
My favorite tine
I seen these guys at Six Flags St. Louis about 1977, one of my favorite songs and bands of all time. ☺
the best thing about RUclips is you find music like this!!!!
Totally agree with you!
Totally agree I never heard the song till today and I love it.

This song absolutely takes me back in time, as 1978 was one of the absolute best years of my life!!!!!!!! 💯😎👍
I remember hearing this song for the first time on my way to Green Ramp at Pope AFB as we prepped for a mass formation jump at Ft. Bragg. We paratroopers loved this song and FIREFALL.

Here in Jan 2025 and still one of my faves from the 70''s...when music was actually worth listening to. 🥰
Never payed much attention to this song back when came out. I'm 72 and came across it on Facebook, and it hit my music genre. Great song 😊
2023 and still playing this track over and over. Just brings back such awesome memories. 🎶👍🎶👍
You're right on the money, those were great times and Firefall was amazing.
I saw these guys open for Fleetwood Mac when I was 16 or 17.... Even though we were all waiting for Stevie, Firefall was so good that I became a lifelong fan. They were always viewed as Eagles light, which was really unfair, a great group of musicians in their own right!
Dam what a great concert to have gone to.❤
Absolutely LOVE this Band❤🫶🙌👏❣️
Firefall still touches the deepest part inside your heart with this song. Never tire of hearing it.
Nov 2018
Love your Handle! Cheers from Canada! You look like a very pretty lady!
Where did great music like this go? The lead vocal and the arrangement behind this song is incredible..love this song.
What happened we lived in a very special period of time with music. Remember Rock and Roll was brand new. First created by black blues musicians way back. With a lot of stories to tell. All natural sitting around just having fun. As time went on the electric guitar was created an it was all new never done before. So what I'm getting at is every Frase or phrase. Or just about every word has been turned into music. So now a days it hard to come up with a great song with a subject that hasn't already been in a song.
2024 still kickin ass at 62 years old
Who's listening in 2020?? Great hit song~

@@allanmoore3610 Likewise here, Al.
The 70’s and 80’s were some of the best years of my life, and it helped that the music was top notch back then. ❤
They were the best years for many of us. There will never be another time like the 70s and 80s for music and just socializing! Unfortunately our world has become a shit hole of hate. When I get to the pearly gates I'm telling the Man just let me relive the 70s and 80s for eternity
If you ever wanted to know what the 70s were like for those of us lucky to have seen and heard it, just listen to this song. Pure as the driven snow.
You can't here better music than this
Well put my friend
I remember sitting by my AM/FM stereo with a little tape recorder hoping I’d hear it so I could record it!!! Sounds so silly with how far we’ve come with music and its technology today but that’s what made it so sweet and special.
Damn Skippy!
@@cinnamongirl7877 lol I miss Napster. I would stay up all night downloading songs. Missed this one though darn it.
I am 64. I was 16 when this song came out. This is the FIRST time- I have actually seen the band playing any of their songs. The 70's before MTV were like this alot. We may never have seen the band or seen their pictures, we just listened to the Radio and knew them and their songs, Instantly. That what Music should be- Listening to the song and not caring for the Image, Video, Pictures, its is all about the Ear and Listening. Great band and takes this old man back to his Youth for a Moment.....Thanks!
It was different growing up just knowing the music - without ever seeing the actual band. I think, somehow, never seeing the band helped us connect to their music in ways that simply aren't possible today.
I hear ya. I'm 66, and I will never forget when I saw Todd Rundgren for the 1st time on the Midnight Special.
I love his music, but I was shocked to see him wearing women's make up and a gown.
I guess if that happened today it wouldn't be such a big deal, but back then it was shocking.
I saw them live with Little River Band!
@@annfreels3071 I love the Little River Band. great songs and voices. Icehouse was good Australian band, too.
Flute solo!
It doesn't matter to me what style of music. I miss the 70's everyday we had something new to listen too.
If it was the Rolling Stone or Quarterflash, Pink Floyd, Firefall . We had the best music.
This was and is still one of my favorite songs. Loved Firefall, Thanks for playing this song. June 2024
There is nothing to compare...takes me back to a BEAUTIFUL time in music ❤

Nice to have a time machine
At 66 I remember when this song came out in 1978 the year I married my highschool sweetheart 46yrs and still going.
I was merely a young kid when this song was popular, but it is one of those songs that instantly take me back to a good time in my life. Summers were spent at the pool, and the radio station was always on the local rock station...1978...1979...groups like Toto,Steely Dan,Ace,Player, Alan Parsons, Gary Wright, Gerry Raf ferry and these guys, Firefall dominated the summer lineup in a small town in Alabama. I didn't much like spending my summers there at first, but as time went on and I started growing up a little, I would love laying around the pool while soaking in the sun and getting an education in 70s rock...I. went on to like groups that were a little more rock...Zeppelin, KISS, Aerosmith, Thin Lizzy...but I still have an affinity for that 70s FM radio rock and it takes me back to poolside on a beautiful summer day in Alabama...
Same
ditto--we gotta be about the same age cause i love all the bands you mentioned. classic!
I was married and in the air force lol. tribute to my first wife and mother of my successful kids.

I saw these guys, along with Eddie Money, Huey Lewis and the News, and Heart, all at the same show. Each performance impeccable. What a concert!
One of the best bands ever assembled-such talent. Rick Roberts and Larry Burnett were tremendous songwriters, the rest of the guys were also excellent-Mark Andes,Michael Clarke,David Muse and Jock Bartley. One of my Top 10 favorite bands ever easily one of the most underrated groups of all time.FIREFALL

Lou christie the gypsy cried out of ria
79steelymatt ...you are so right Matt...I was already a fan of The Eagles, Poco, Spirit, Jo Jo Gunne and The Byrds...so this sound was a natural....and had many former members of some of the bands listed. I saw Firefall just a few years ago with only Jock Bartley left but his band was incredible and they sounded just as good as they probably did in 1976!
Mike Lewis They blended so many sounds together that I like and they were a little too pop for true country rock fans but I feel their sound was a perfect blend of what I love in pop music
79steelymatt What's with the past tense? These guys still play a ton!
We were truly blessed growing up in the’60’s and’70s
I was deployed for the 1st time fighting overseas.

Firefall: "Strange Way". 1978. Freshman in high school. Yeah that's the hair men wore back then. Music made with real musical instruments, by the way.

Sophomore in high school and loved this tune. Loved the way the strings seemed to "punch" that chorus, and the jazz interlude. Great piece of music.

The greatest performance footage of anything I have found in a decade. The only band equally as all-around talented as the Eagles. Stunning!

"Strange Way"
Didn't I hear you cry this morning, didn't I feel you weep?
Teardrops flowin' down on me, like rivers in my sleep.
And in my dream of laughter, you came creepin' with your fears.
Telling me your sorrows, in the tracings of your tears.
That's a strange way to tell me you love me
When your sorrow is all I can see
If you just want to cry to somebody, don't cry to me, no
Don't cry to me, no
Didn't I hear your voice this morning, didn't you call my name?
I heard you whisper softly, but the words were never plain.
And in your dream of darkness, I came shinin' like the sun.
Waiting for the laughter, but the laughter never comes.
That's a strange way to tell me you love me
When your sorrow is all I can see
If you just want to cry to somebody, don't cry to me, no
Don't cry to me, no
Didn't you feel alone this morning, didn't you need a friend?
And in your darkest hour, you came runnin' back again
That's a strange way to tell me you love me
That's a strange way to tell me you love me
That's a strange way to tell me you love me

So "Just remember I love you, and it'll be all right" turned out to be a pile of hooey. 😕
I'm 54, all I listen to is classic rock and progressive rock. Rock will never die. I remember every 10-15 years or so I used to hear people saying rock is dead, BS. Rock will never die as long as the songs are still around and the people who remember them are still alive.
I saw FireFall in 1987 while going to school at The Ohio State University. Rick Roberts was actually the lead vocalist. Of course Jock, David Muse were also there. They played for over 2 hours, and "Mexico" just blew the audience away! Before the show, the band did a meet/greet/ autograph session. They were all very cool. I brought the cassette cover for FireFall's Greatest Hits for the guys to sign. They all laughed because they thought that cover was ridiculous. Anyways, one of my all time favorite bands. I have everything they've ever done,

man --- we had some mighty fine music back then .. we were lucky enough to listen to this for the first time ...
music in the 70's had so much 💚 and soul. whether it was firefall or marvin gaye or bto or zeppelin. our tunes are still listened to by even todays generation because of the talent and the heart that went into each track. I went so mm ewhere with mm y son and his friends and they are late 20's and they were listening to heart, janis, and jimi.
