Hi Zane, I'm pretty sure you already know, but for those who don't... The sends busses and master etc. are hiding down below your tracks window. Just grab the bottom of the tracks window with your mouse and drag it up to see the busses. Cheers.
What if I wanted to bounce each channel in EZ Drummer 2 to an individual audio track with it's one waveform that I could edit from the track view? Is there a shortcut for this? Edit: Nevermind I just realized all you have to do is hit record on the audio track and it will create a waveform. Then you can even delete the main EZ drummer track to save more RAM. This video was so helpful for creating my workflow in cakewalk with EZ drummer thank you so much!
Great video. I have a question. I've set my drums up as you've shown and have created a drum pattern using step sequencer. I now want to use one of the tambourine preset patterns but I am not sure where I should be dragging and dropping it to. Dropped it into the ezdrummer track where the step sequencer goes but it's laying over the top of my step sequencer drum patterns. Also tried dropping it into the tambourine track but no sound plays. Can you help please?
this was a fantastic video thank you very much .. do you have a video that would show how I could freeze all the individual drum tracks after following all the steps you suggested?
Zane, thanks for your tutorials. Quick question, when I drag and drop EZDrummer over an "insert soft synth options" dialog box opens. If I simply click 'okay' 3 EZDrummer tracks are inserted. What should I do? Am pretty new to Cakewalk and DAWS in general....also, I'm working with a small existing file that has two short guitar tracks already in place. Thanks for your time.
Superior Drummer is probably the best but EZDrummer 2 is right up there with it and shares some of the same qualities. What I like about EZDrummer is that it’s easy to setup and use where Superior Drummer gives you a lot more options to edit so you can have total control over your drums. Personally I just want something I can put on a track and use without needing to tweak too much. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
Ok can you have all the toms seperate? and also the bassdrums , cymbals ect it seems they can only all be used in stereo ? so not complete control of all drums ? or am i missing something the other inputs channels are for effects OH, comp, reverb,
Great Vid, but how do you add it to Cakewalk?, I had tried it myself and had gotten no where for five hours straight. I had clicked on Add on the VST settings. and oh darn, I had wasted 1 third of a nerve on that? So I had tried other things had gotten no where with that? and here I 'am at hour five and ready for bed. So if you can please show us on how you set it up We would all greatly appreciate it Thanks Man!!
At 8:26 I talk about what track to program or put midi files onto. You would record to the same track. It’s the main EZDrummer instrument track. You don’t need to record each one individually. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
Anybody have the “audio engine inactive” prompt when trying to play ezdrummer within cakewalk? I’m having a tough time figuring it out. It worked fine before, but now I only get that prompt with no sound.
I’m about to get a free trial of EZDrummer 2 to make some demos. When the free trial expires, will the plugin on cakewalk break and be mute or will the audio still be there and I just won’t be able to edit it? I’m thinking I might have to export each part of the kit separately from EZ Drummer then import the audio into cakewalk to avoid this issue.
I don’t know what happens. But it will likely either mute or insert noise every few seconds. If you use it to make a song, render the drums to audio then you won’t have to worry about it. You won’t be able to easily make changes but at least you’ll have your drums.
When I add EZDrummer to the track area, I can see the window with the drum set but nothing happens when I click on any of the drums. Nothing happening visually or audibly. Any thoughts?
Hi Sean I am having same issue, I can connect my e-drum kit (with usb midi cable) and play when I am on Ezdrummer Stand Alone, but when I try to use on cakewalk it happens same as you. I buy on internet today a midi cable, old stlye that with 5 pins to connect direct from my e-drum module midi output to my interface (M-Audio 192/6) midi input to see if some different happens, I have other DAWS as Abbeton and Pro tools, but I think more complicated , I can record some good Guitar, Voice and Bass on Cakewalk with minimum effort.
@@evertoncostapt I ended up figuring out. Although I can’t remember what I did! It was something silly with the midi settings I think. Keep playing around with it because it will work.
@@Ilikewhiskey2112 I solved, when I drag in I had to chose as single instrument track instead midi input, after it I set my e-drum as controller on preferences.
Hello! I am facing trouble in cakewalk together with Ezdrummer 3. Ez3 are loading properly in cakewalk so I can click on the drums and it will record but when I hit the pads on my Millenium 850 e-drum kit there is no sound response at all. Anyone reading this willing to guide me? Thanks!
Do you know if your e-drums are mapped to ez drummer? If they aren’t mapped correctly then they might not be triggering any drums. There’s likely a EZ drummer preset for the kit.
@@AudioTechTV Thanks a lot for reaching out trying to help me! I am a total noob to all of these technics. Do you perhaps have this mapping described in one of your videos?
@@NamMyohoRengeKyo-d9u if you know where the plugin is installed then you can add that folder to cakewalk so it will search it for plugins. The reason I use edrums is because I do not want instrument bleed between the drums, is there a way to eliminate that?

I've been inserting Ezdrummer as an FX for years... :D
It only works when inserted as an instrument track, as shown in the video.
