There’s a lot of Noom haters out there, but I’ve found it really helpful. Thanks for an honest, positive viewpoint!

That's awesome and 100% do what works for you. Every program isn't for every one for sure.

    I'm 42 and I have 7 kids
My weight has gone up and down over the years. I lost alot of weight many years ago on ww ( when it was the original points system) but never really looked into the psychological reasons behind my unhealthy eating habits and binging. I lost 3 st in lockdown counting calories and exercising but had a bad week and binged and gained back a stone! So I joined noom to try to finally sort my head out so i can be at a healthy weight and stay there! I'm hoping it works. I'm 5 days in and 4 lbs down so far. 1200 cals a day works for me ( not everyone) if I fill up on fruit, veg and protein I'm never hungry. I still have chocolate everyday. 🙂

I signed up on March 10. I find it easy to use, I wanted to lose 75 pounds and take the slow road to this journey. I put that into the Noom app and it assigned me a 1200 calorie/day allotment, and said I could lose the weight by the end of May. Losing 75 pounds in 2 months is unhealthy. And EVERY single video I've watched said that Noom assigned them 1200 calories per day. I needed a calorie counting assistant and a diary to post my thoughts and foods I ate, I don't need unrealistic and unhealthy nonsense from the app's developers. Aside from this, my "coach" patronizes me and doesn't really provide me much coaching. Perhaps they're waiting for me to pay for the whole program, I don't know. I liked Noom, the idea, the articles. I just think I will stop before my 2 week free trial is over and look for a calorie counter and food diary app that won't cost me $50/month.

Yes I completely agree. 1200 cal a day is definitely not the magic number for everyone. Go online and do a BMR calculator. I was going to be doing a video about one of those in the next couple of weeks to share that exact thing. I have so many clients as struggle with the balance for healthy calorie intake. It’s so individual. Maybe they assigned you May 2022? That would make a whole lot more sense. I said I wanted to lose 25 pounds and it gave me four or five months to do that. A healthy weight loss at a slow and steady pace is 1 to 2 pounds a week. That’s very sustainable. I have used my fitness pal and that is a free app you can use. You can pay for it as well but there’s really no need. It does everything I needed to do for free. I am an accountability coach if you were interested in something like that please reach out to me and I promise I don’t patronize my clients! I have definitely experienced a little bit of that when I tried Noom myself.

@@mach51 Yeah, 75 lbs in 2 months doesn't sound right. I want to lose 28 lbs and noom said it would take 5 months. 1200 calories but if i work out, even a 10 minute walk, I get more food.

    • @michellesmith683

I started at 1200 calories a day, and now I'm up to 1320 a day. 1200 calories a day is a normal base for women.

I lost a whopping 5 pounds in four months on Noom and I’m totally disgusted. I followed the program to the T. I never had a coach. The only reason I lost five pounds was because I went rogue and did my own thing. And the price is astronomical.

Anyone who signs up, don't automatically do 1200 calories. Go into the app and to manual calories. Add calories until you reach your BMR

The before and after pictures don't sell the program all that much, especially the final pic. Their arms have full-length sleeves, she's standing in the opposite direction as compared to the first 2 pics and at an angle. Also her hair is covering her face and clearly positioned for better affect. She definitely lost some weight but seems to be mainly on her butt. Doesn't sell me. I am currently in the program and am happy with the psychological aspect of it. I definitely have learned a lot about healthy eating, how your mind works when dieting, and feeling better about myself. I ended up probably the 4th month to not get anything out of the articles and the group posts were so repetitious about doing yoga. The one-on-one coach was truly useless. I'm staying with it because 30 lbs in 6 mths motivates me but i've been stuck at that weight loss for quite a while now and I have a lot of weight to lose.
