Even though I've been using fountain pens for at least 6 years, i thought there was only black ink and cartridges. I am learning so much in the last few weeks. I just posted my first fountain pen vid a few weeks ago if you want to take a look. I never realized there was so much to these pens, i just liked how it wrote lol
I was definitely drooling over your Estie collection! That brand is next on my wishlist. My fountain pen day purchase was my first Nahvalur Schuylkill in Asfur Bronze, Broad…also purchased Private Reserve ink in Daphne for that pen, great pairing.
44:26 I had a similar experience. I tried the lamy vista demo pen in the store which wrote so well! Purchased a safari in charcoal black medium nib, only to discover it wrote horribly. After cleaning and switching to converter and diamine ink it writes much better but is still a fairly fussy pen. I won't be getting anymore safaris after this. I love the design and colors but their nib qc is just awful from what I've seen and heard., just not worth the price when you can get a jinhao 80 for like $4 and it will probably write just as well if not better than the safari.
For your Pilot Vanishing Point I would recommend filling empty Pilot cartridges. You can have your choice of ink still, but you will need an eyedropper or syringe. Take care and enjoyed your video!
Thank you so much for sharing your collection! It's a lovely one and I can only encourage you to get rid of the ones you don't feel any longer. Can't wait to see where it takes you!
Loved every minute of this collection overview Cass! Your pacing and very helpful comparisons made this such an easy and informative watch, thanks for sharing all your insights :)
I buy BENU Talismans the way you buy Twsbi Ecos, I enjoy that model! You might consider the lavender Talisman; it's a purple pen that's actually scented. I'd enjoy seeing your wish list. I hope it has an Edison pen on it. Edison is my all time favorite brand (although BENU is in a strong second place). Best wishes. 🙂
OMG I have that Conklin pen too and I don't like it😂 IDK how I will ever sell it because I don't think people like it. 😅 oh well😅 anyway, love this vid!!!!❤
as soon as i received it, i knew it is the one pen i will never use. but then i also knew nobody will even purchase it from me😅 or maybe for a good price? who knows.
Hello! What’s was the original price of the Platinum 3776 Century and the Pen Day price? Not how much you paid for it, just how much was difference between the sale and regular price! I’ve always being intrigued by that pen, and I am waiting for a good sale!!
You didn't like the Lamy Safari as a pen at all, is what I understand, yet you bought 8 more after that? I don't get it. What I don't like, I either give it as a gift, to someone who likes it, and I never buy again that pen.
Yeah, I’m a glutton for punishment. I figured I would give them another shot once I knew more about fountain pens and how to get them to work for me as a lefty.

Lamy was my first experience too. And I think I choose it because of the nostalgia history attached to it
Beautiful collection! That TWSBi Iris is so pretty! 😍 Thank you for sharing! I hope you do an updated one for 2024 at the end of the year! 🎉

I’m definitely going to refine in the new year. Possibly going to look for BST groups on Facebook as a place to start.

I love BENU so much!! I saw the lavender talisman and was worried it would sell out!
WOW!!! Very nice collection for sure, and nicely stored. I'm curious, did you have to work on your Jinhao nibs to get them to write properly???
I flushed them first, but that was about it. They’re definitely not the best nibs in my collection but they do alright.

It is from Penn State Industries. Slotted pen tray.
