  • Unbelievable ! Extreme Blizzard Hits Japan 🏡 Homes & Cars Buried Under Mountains of Snow ❄️
    🇬🇧 English:
A powerful winter storm impacted Japan in February , 2025, bringing record snowfall, intense winds, and widespread disruptions.
Hokkaido and northern Honshu saw over a meter of snow, causing traffic paralysis, power outages, and avalanche risks.
Airports, trains, and highways were severely affected, with thousands stranded and emergency shelters opened.
As the storm weakened, authorities focused on recovery, snow removal, and improving preparedness for future extreme weather events.

For a Japanese person like me who lives on the Pacific coast of Japan where it rarely snows, the heavy snowfall on the Japan Sea coast like in this video seems like something that happens abroad...

As they say, shoganaine (such is life)! More importantly, hope no loss of life! Love winter, only a little chilly here in Kanto (Tokyo).

I live in the deep south in USA and had 3 inches recently and everything shut down. We don't have snow plows so they used tractors with a scoop on front and dumped it into the river. We didn't dare go anywhere because we don't know how to drive in this stuff.

Unfortunately a lot of buildings are going to collapse from the weight of the snow.
