2024 Toyota CHR Plugin PHEV Ground Clearance Issues ? Walkround Compared to Hybrid

- Quick look at a PHEV Plugin Hybrid C-HR. It's the first time I've seen one and this one had just arrived, so I popped in to have a look
Great car, but the one thing that I noted was the rather low ground clearance with the large Plugin battery hanging down quite low, so I'd be worried it may get squashed on a kerb, resulting in a hefty bill
I've looked at a few different colours and spec CHR
Still loving the baby Lamborghini Urus looks, although the lesser specs Icon/Design lose the sporty edge of the GR & Excel
I'll be looking at other models and possibly brands aswell, as I'm not sold on anything yet
I have a RAV4 Dynamic spec hybrid, which I'm looking to renew but the hybrid variant of Rav4 is no longer available and the similar spec Plugin Rav is now around 50k which is into higher rate tax vehicle tax, which I wouldn't mind paying £100k car , but when you're just over the tax threshold it's annoying

Thanks for the video. I would be concerned going over speed ramps in towns with the low ground clearance
French villages are awash with vicious, high and steeply sloped speed bumps so this could potentially take a lot of damage. Thank you so so much for mentioning this !😲
It's interesting that no other reviewer mentioned this. I did notice the ground clearance when using the Konfigurator. Regardless, I ordered one; I'm used to driving low cars
I don't think anyone else wanted to get their knees dirty lol
Nice car
I'm going to test drive the car that's in the video now thanks for explaining everything to me about the car especially about the pannaramic roof which doesn't have blinds which is going to be a no no for me but I'm going to ask if I can get that car without the roof 😊
Let us know how you get on 👍🏻
Toyota sell a snap-in screen for the sunroof as an extra.
@@theecumenicalchurchofoccit2439 I've not seen or heard of that, I'll see if I can find/get one - Cheers 👍🏼
That ground clearance is going to cause some expensive issues! They've not thought that through tbh! I have to say I prefer the previous model shape!
I'd hate to think what a new PHEV battery unit including fitting would be £££

If sombody got by who had a Prius Gen. 4 he will get by with this one
The Prius 4 had even less ground clearance with a way bigger wheelbase.
When are you going to drive the car. A little less talking and a lot more action. I am beginning t lose the will to live
I already have a night drive of the CHR on here and explained that during the day the CHR is a tad boring due to it's lacklustre performance, so go and watch the night drive and carry on living
@@daPalma hi, I am talking about the plug in C-HR
@@mikejoseph425 After a health and safety assessment taking into account my driving style and the 13.8Kwh battery skimming the road, I decided against it 😂 ..until next week anyway, so watch this space 🚗 and in the meantime I recorded a road test in a Lexus RC300H yesterday to practice multitasking 🤹🏻♂️ see that video, practice makes perfect 👍🏼
@@daPalma on a serious note I can’t imagine that Toyota would produce a family car which has problem on speed humps. It might be different with Sports cars
If it is a problem they are going to get cars returned “On the grounds of not fit for purpose” I have read a number of reviews and this issue has not been mentioned so I have one on order for delivery mid July so we shall see
@@mikejoseph425 Ah I see, very nice
I'm sure it'll be fine, it was just the first one I spotted had only just arrived and was all scoffed underneath, so it had me thinking 'what if'
