- The best ways to take collagen! This is a follow-up video from the last video I did on the health benefits of taking collagen supplements. I got a lot of questions on this last video, specifically on what are the best ways to take the collagen supplement to maximize the health benefits. There were questions revolving around timing, what foods to take with it, etc.
So in this video, I go over the best ways to take collagen to help the body utilize it, as well as tips on how to maximize collagen health benefits. As we age, our bodies make less collagen on it own, so I think it's super important to take a collagen supplement, whether it's in a powder form, capsule, or liquid.
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body and it makes up all of our connective tissues. It's responsible for strong bones and joints. When your collagen levels are high, studies show you have less wrinkles and hair and nails grow faster. Get the most out of your collagen supplements and learn the best ways to take your collagen!

Excellent video for information! I was wondering why Vitamin C appeared in my collagen protein powder... now I understand. Thank you.
Aww you are so welcome!❤️
I just stumbled on this vid from my google feed. Lots of informations but very concise. I do take collagen and lemon water but I didn't know it had to be at the same time 😃. On a side note I'm contemplating IVF myself so too many coincidences ..."Subscribed" 😀

OK, I'm gonna need measurements for that chocolate ice cream recipe... mine turned out more like chocolate milk lol. Please and tank you!!
Dr. Arsalan Aspires, MD cautions against taking collagen supplements with hot food as it degrades the collagen. Anything over body temperature is what he is saying so big yes to adding it to smoothies, and no to hot coffee. Everything else is spot on.
I didn’t know that!! Do you know if collagen is made from heat? I assumed they used heat in the process of making the powder
Thank you so much for sharing this info!🤗
@@brittany_elizabeth_rn Have no idea how it's made. I got a 1 kilo bag of porcine collagen from Bulk Supplements which seems legit. Anyway, I'm drinking it with my berry smoothies and sometimes just with filtered refrigerator water; Almost no taste. I make an espresso mocha every morning and would be nice to add it to that. It's cheap, so might just do that anyway. Lost a bit of weight over the last couple of years, so hoping it will tighten up the loose skin.
Here’s the MD’s video ruclips.net/video/M9pDiroP6co/видео.html
He says 130*F is the maximum temperature & don’t microwave it.
Looks like the meat thermometer is going into my ☕morning coffee after I add the half&half.
@@stepside2839 good to know. I've been using the collagen in my berry smoothie, so no problem here. But I don't think my coffee is over 130, so maybe I can make my espresso mocha's with it?
@@kennielsen3896 I took the temperature of my morning cup of coffee, with half&half added, and it was 132*F to 135*F, not dark but is “light” in color.
So, I think now, adding it in any beverage above 99*F is not cool, pun intended, unless someone can prove collagen affects of temperature upon ingestion.
is that the same with Matcha? Also is it possible to mix with yogurt?
Do you take it i😊before or after meal? will it not make me gain weight..Ia am into keto diet, btw.
You looks just like the female lead in the movie enchanted! You look stunning with your gorgeous hair!
Haha aww thank you!🥰
Thank you very much
You are so welcome!❤️
I'm taking collagen just after drinking water in the morning...is it a good way or i should take it with food for better absorption??? please reply 🥺 I'm taking it for gut problems
Is it true then protein isn’t the same as in food? Excellent video!!!
That’s a fantastic question! I didn’t want the video to be too long, so I didn’t go into the protein part of it. A complete protein found in animal products such as meat, eggs, and whey…and also vegan complete proteins such as hemp and soy, all have 9 essential amino acids making them a complete protein. Collagen protein, however, is not a complete protein only containing 8 essential amino acids.
Even tho the protein found in collagen is not considered a complete protein, it’s still very supportive to the body, especially joints and connective tissues. And if you’re counting your protein intake, it still counts 😉
But you do want to make sure you’re eating a variety of different protein sources, especially if you’re looking to maintain or build muscle.
Thanks you so much for asking and for watching!😘
Thanks for the lemon tip, but what about lemon juice? I have the juice but need to buy some fresh lemons🍋 I’m gonna try the chocolate ice cream now. Already have the almond milk😝💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
I think lemon juice is fine because it’s also high in vitamin C. I hope you like the chocolate ice cream!😘
What about a tablespoon of cayenne pepper that supposedly has a lot of vitamin c in it
Hi there, I was wondering if you noticed a salty taste you tasted the unflavored collagen powder. I saw that people are saying it has a salty taste.
I don’t notice any taste at all❤️
Can i drink it with chlorophyl drink?
I have stage 4 pancreatic cancer and I bought some chocolate collagen to help maintain weight. Wish I would have bought non flavored to add to more things but oh well next time. How do you make you lemon water? I know dumb question. I but fresh lemons and fresh oranges to mix into coconut water. I add pink Hymalaian salt and honey. It really helps with electrolytes recover after treatment.
Oh wow I’m incredibly sorry to hear that!! Yeah the unflavored one you can mix into literally anything and it doesn’t change the taste. And that’s a great electrolyte drink you make! I’ll definitely have to try that! I just make my lemon water by heating up a mason jar of water and then squeezing fresh lemon😌
Thank you so much for your message and seminars lots of healing your way💕
@@brittany_elizabeth_rn Could you provide the amounts for the chocolate ice cream? I accidentally put in a 1/4 cup of gum...it was like cement.
Can the peptide powder be mixed w hot liquid or it has to be taken around max 40 degree Celsius
Yes it can!
1. Take collagen with vitamin C
2. Mixing with fruit smothi or almond milk.
3. Avod refined sugar or sugar in general
4. Avoid UV lights
5. Don't smoke
Yes!!
Helps with sleep? Please post the container closely. Name of company? Available on iherb?
I don’t think it helps with sleep. The company is Vital Proteins. I get it at Costco because it’s a way better price but you can get it on Amazon or through their website
Hi, where can i buy it , i will like to buy it, but am from Nigerian
Hi! You can buy it online through Amazon or the Vital Proteins website
My collagen just turns into bits and pieces large and small, which difficult to dissolve.
It doesn’t dissolve very well in cold drinks. I have to blend mine if I want it in anything cold
Store it in a dryer place if putting in stews wait till pan cools a bit
Can I settle for 1 scoop daily, which is 10g of collagen peptide
Yeah you’ll still get benefits from that too!❤️
What about apple juice for vitamin C ?
Sure!
How many times a day do I have to add it to my smoothie?
I’m not sure what exactly you’re asking but I only have one serving a day
What can bestfeeding mothers eat?
I’m currently breastfeeding and taking collagen
i dont drink coffee can i mix it with tea or juice
Yes!
I'm scooping a heaping teaspoon of Chocolate Collagen Peptides directly into my mouth and chugging it down with water 😁👍 Quick and efficient method, lol
Haha sounds fast too 😝
Mine doesn’t dissolve in cold water. I’m taking it at night so no tea or coffee. Help!!
Yeah it doesn’t dissolve very well in cold water. Maybe try dissolving it in hot liquid first then transfer it to your cold drink
I put it in my hot coffee still clumpy
This is a no go for me. I want something quick and dissolves. This doesn’t get it.
@@teresiaslotkus7824 well let me know if you find it. It’s my understanding that all collagen powders do that unfortunately
Can we take collagen in cold water before going to bed?
