Good to see someone using and fishing from a tinny. They seem so versatile and dont break the bank in fuel and stuff...looking forward to modifying mine...great content cheers
filling up your tank from the jerry can...when the jerry can is full.....turn it up the other way so the spout is at the top...For me, i find its easier to control that way, great videos!
@@AusAdventure Haha! Thanks mate. Think of it as one of your fans requests - “Here I am with my BEACHED BOAT EATING A BARBEQUED BEER BATTERED BONITO BURGER WITH BBQ SAUCE & A BEER. BLOODY BEAUTIFUL”. I spose you need to catch another bonito or a bream. Although even if you don’t catch anything you could use beef. 😜👍. Safe travels mate. 😃👍🐟🐟🚤
That was awesome......thanks mate, super effort from you and bloody good to watch!! Makes me so keen to leave the wife and three kids at home, go Bear Grylls style overnight and then fry up a feed in solitude and tranquility on a deserted beach, with a coldy in hand 🤣
KwakaZX10R you've just painted a perfect picture for living the dream. I've had 2 tinnies, 1 4.35 plate alloy with a 40 horse Johno and the second was a 455 stacer with another 40hp but this time with electric tilt and trim. A must in my opinion, I covered some serious miles in those 2 smallish boats but had an absolute blast. Being on the water is so damb relaxing. Now I'm looking for number 3. I still like a 455 with a 40 to 50 horse, such versatile little boats an easy to handle at the ramp when solo and the wind picks up.
So stoked to watch some real living from a tinny :) just purchased my first boat ever. 12ft tinny with an 15hp on it. What your number one mod on the tinny.... cheers.
Cheers mate. My first boat was also a 12 footer with a 15. The first mod I did on it was to put in a casting deck. It’s good for storage underneath and for fishing off of. The second thing I did was the electric motor fit out. Thanks for watching. 👍
My dad carpeted all his tinny and painted the outside and getting his trailer on Saturday and we are going to go camping at peel island also how is peel island never went
Another awesome vid mate well done just got done watching it,good way to start the day as me job got cancelled 4.30 thismorning👌 Me boy and I will be heading down the pin tomorrow first day out since covid iso
Good vid mate. I know exactly where you launched from. A bloody long trip from there to Peel Island in a tinny though mate. You should of launched at Cabbage Tree Point, then headed north. Big saving on fuel. Anyway good job on catching the mackeral.
Hey mate, nice vid. I was out on the water the same weekend out the front of Moreton hitting the FADs, hit bag limit on the dollies but current was hectic for bottom bashing. I have been out nearly every weekend last couple of months haha. With regard to filleting fish please check the department of fisheries regulations and get familiarised with them as you do not want to get caught out (filleting the mack may have landed you in hot water, it is a grey area open for interpretation, its better not to leave the door open IMO). You will get a lot more meat if you ditch the flat filleting technique, prob lost 1cm fillet thickness each side doing it the way you did, made me cringe thinking about all that awesome sashimi going into the drink haha.
Yeah I’m no chef when it comes to filleting. I left the skin on the Mac and the fillets were over 40cm so that should have been fine if I was checked I think. The Bonito I’m not so sure about as my original plan was to cook it up straight away but the plan changed. I might check with Fisheries for next time. Thanks for the advice.
@@AusAdventure yeah it is a bit too grey for me as there is no defined size of fillet. I have encountered good and bad fisheries on the water. I have had arguments with them in the past, one which was resolved in my favour at a higher level. Some are just deadshits barely able to read let alone enforce the rules, which I duly pointed out to that individual
Loved the video. First time seeing one of your vids. Has now inspired me to do an over nighter with swag in my boat. I couldn’t imagine it getting much better then that! Any tips for planning an over nighter? Now to catch up on your other videos!!! 😀
Cheers mate. I would recommend testing the swag set up before you go. Just so you know it will work before you get out there. Also plan where your going to anchor. I always sleep better knowing I’m in a calm protected anchorage. Ensuring your anchor light is working properly is always a good idea too so other boats can see you. Otherwise mate enjoy it. Thanks for watching.
Love your videos mate. What swag bag are you using? It looks quick to deploy. You keep your pad and sleeping bag in it or do you separate them? I need something like it, waterproof for doing this in Canada on my 14' tinny.
Hi Vern and thanks for watching my videos. The brand of my swag is “Dune”. I don’t know if you will be able to get it in Canada or not. It has a mattress that stays inside it. I normally leave sheets inside it. I rarely need a sleeping bag because it is so warm here but you could leave one inside it if you wanted too. Hope that helps. 👍🍺
Yeah mate it’s pretty good but I don’t have any other boats in the same size class to compare it too. The worse thing about mine in the hull thickness which is 1.8mm. If you can find a boat with a 3mm bottom I think it would be much better. Good luck.
I use to have a 4.38 quintrex top ender and it was the best boat I've ever owned had a 50 Yamaha on it side console great Barra boat took it out ocean a couple time to but that was when I lived remote NT so mainly rivers lol but did go out off Darwin a fair bit but if ya look for a stable boat I put it this way I paid 15 for mine and the day I got it I put it in the Katherine river with me an 4 mates all on the one side jumping trying to sink it lol and I mean big boys and we couldn't get it under xD and the few times in the sea it handle so smooth cut through the waves but I to have heard the renegades are good I just got a 6m quintrex bar crusher got a score had to fix up the engine but she's like new lol had been sitting for years anyway if ya get a good deal on a topenders I'd go for it personally but tbh almost all quintrex alloy boats are good stacer are ok to but are alot narrower any way good luck and happy fishing

Nice vid Mate. Just wondering, what are the reg's for filleting a fish on a boat in qld?
Its different for different types of fish. Best off looking at the Queensland boating and fisheries website mate. 👍

Can't seem to catch a queen fish do have any tips like where to fish what lure to cast. That would be real helpfull
I have caught them in Hervey Bay and around the top of Fraser Island using metal slugs. Haven’t caught that many of them to be honest.

I guess finding the calm protected anchorage could be tricky the first few times?
The key is checking the forecast and just finding a spot out of the wind. Good luck.
Hey mate what is the best way to go from runaway bay to peel?

Aus adventure do u mind me asking what rig u used for the mackerel
Mate it was a small piece of single strand wire with a treble hook. No sinker. live bait was pretty much swimming just under the surface. 👍
Aye mate was that at top of Morton island between mud and Morton
Mate it is between peel island and North Stradbroke Island.
Nice work 👍 how long to run up to Peel from the GC ?
Cheers mate. Took about an hour and a half. I was only going about 17 knots.
