Indeed, listening to this brings back tons of memories of countless Sunday evenings in front of the family TV watching Wonderful World of Disney! THANK YOU!
Awesome, I had this record as a kid and still have the theme song go through my head 35 years later. Thanks for helping me relive a piece of my childhood. :)
Tim Greene :) i was in third grade when rex allen's narrated puppy chow commercials started. some of them stated that puppy chow had everything a puppy needs 'all you add is love.' most all kids back then had a pet dog. our third grade teacher asked what all do you need to take care of a dog properly. she was writing our answers on the chalk board. all of us guys knew the commercial but did not want to say the tag line. i guess we thought it would be too sissified or something. why the girls didn't speak up i'll never know. finally our teacher said all you add is... all you add is..." and some girl finally blurted out LOVE!
had this album as a 10yr old listening to lobo and old yeller-been looking for the video to the Walt Disney movie-thanx for the album listen-brings back memories
I love listening to Rex Allen narrating films. I wish he would have done more. I wonder how many he did for Disney besides this one. He narrated the original Charlotte' s Webb too. 😊
Muchas gracias por subirlo a youtube, solo vi una vez ésta película en mi infancia sin embargo jamás la olvidé ni a sus hermosas canciones, sobre todo la muerte de su madre u.u una hermosa película sin duda.
Thanks for uploading this. I had this record when I was a kid. I remember our dog would go crazy when I would play it. The other side of the record had Old Yeller.
They premiered this movie on Turner Classic Movies tonight as part of their treasures from the Disney vault program with the theme being animals. I surprisingly got hooked into it. Rex Allen was a enjoyable narrator to listen to while Sons of the Pioneers did their best with singing. Shame it’s not like this anymore.
Just discovered wolfquest and was reminded of this. Have the DVD version of this and now I listen everything I play wolfquest. My first wolf I named Ranga, named after the tempest wolf from that time I got reincarnated as a slime, and my first male pup I will name lobo.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if Peter New was tapping into good ol' Rex when he came up with the voice of Big Macintosh. I know I couldn't help thinking of one of these Disney nature stories when I first heard him speak a full sentence. But that's not the only reason I came here, I swear! I used to watch at least some of the films Rex Allen narrated back when the Disney Channel would rerun them. Now I plan to revisit them all. And any other LPs besides this one.
I remember in the original book Lobo's mate was white and he was captured by someone named Ernest Thompson Seton. In captivity the wolf lost the will to live and died peacefully.

sam rizzardi : If the 21st Century Disney Corp was to remake this story, it would become some politically correct story about global warming, the LGBT, and filled with SJW messages. Not to mention having a comical goofy sidekick all Disney movies have.
A different country. A product from the real Mr. Disney. A better country for children, and even for white males like Mr. Rex Allen. He'd never get this gig or career today.
Brings back memories. In the 1960’s I had this record, and as a little kid, I would play this story over and over.
Indeed, listening to this brings back tons of memories of countless Sunday evenings in front of the family TV watching Wonderful World of Disney! THANK YOU!
1971 child here and just hearing his voice makes me want to cry. The 70s and 80s were the best decades.
Was born in 1985 but I love this film and song.
Love Rex Allen’s voice- 39 years working with Disney!
That voice brings back a lot of happy memories.
Awesome, I had this record as a kid and still have the theme song go through my head 35 years later. Thanks for helping me relive a piece of my childhood. :)
thank you. i wish things were this pure, simple, innocent and family oriented today.
+John Runion My pleasure! :)

Thanks for your comments. It was a special part of my childhood. I'm delighted to share it with others.
I remember seeing this in theaters as a kid in the 70s, and still remembered part of the song. Great to hear it again 40 years later, thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
Thank you for posting this. I love it. Wish I could purchase it on CD. And I hope to purchase the movie on DVD when it once again becomes available.

I remember that narrator voice when watching the Charlottes Web (1973) cartoon as a young child.

Rex narrated for 30. Years!
@@conniecrawford5231 Only 30 yrs? He should have done more. He was great.
Wonderful! Love it, I only wish and pray Disney would make stuff like this again

I have that EXACT album. I have always loved that one. LOL
M from Algeria and it took me back with the hands of time ⌚ with some tears in my eyes..
I loved it. What a treat.
Remember my parents taking me to see the double feature THE LEGEND OF LOBO, and KING OF THE GRIZZLIES at the local theater :0)
Those were also two of my favourites as a child. It was first when I grew up I realized those are based on true stories. Pretty cool!
thank you tim saludos de Peru
Please share if you have anymore!

This movie is burned in my childhood memory, and it's where I derived my user name.

i cried into my dogs fur when his mom got shot twice D:
I wish they'd do a remake, but closer to Seton's original (much sadder) story
