- A televised comment by Bridgerton star Adjoa Andoh about the Buckingham Palace balcony being "terribly white" has become the most complained about moment of 2023 so far.
More than 4,000 complaints to UK broadcasting regulator Ofcom have been filed about the remark, which was made when Ms Andoh appeared as a guest on ITV's coverage of the coronation celebrations.
Historian Rafe Heydel Mankoo says: “She is so down the rabbit hole of race grifting that the first thing she can think of is how white it is.”

I have brown skin but born in the UK and have no issue whatsoever with a terribly white Royal family or a majority of white people in the UK, I dont really want it becoming more black if I'm being perfectly honest, nothing against 'people of colour' obviously but I dont like the idea of changing the demographics of the country to make racist and insecure people feel more comfortable with their surroundings and I absolutely despise MASS immigration, its been one of the worst things I've ever experienced for various reasons, same with woke.

Agreed 100 percent. It took 7 years for my Green Card process for the USA, and cost 1000's. Why should I have done that if I can just sneak across the border, ask for handouts and then cry about a racist society if you don't help me? Illegal immigration is NEVER acceptable.
I worked with a guy from Ghana and one from Jamaica. They both used to fall asleep from 10am - 12am as the boss never turned up until 12.30am. But one day the boss came in early and caught them sleeping, he didn’t say anything but came in early the next day to see if it was just a one off. He was fuming that he was paying them to sleep, so he told me and the rest of the staff there would be no 15 minute tea breaks in the morning and afternoon, and our lunch hour will become 30 minutes. Me and the other 7 guys said that wasn’t fair that we were getting punished because of THEIR behaviour, he said he cannot say anything to them as they’ve already threatened to take him to a tribunal because he’s racist. Eventually, one by one the staff started to leave and the business suffered and had to eventually close. So because of two people that were lazy , 8 others suffered and a business closed down because of the racism card. People like this need and want racism to thrive so they can hide behind it and excuse their own failings and laziness behind racism.
This fear of of being taken to a tribunal is being abused everywhere by the racism card, seen it myself at work time and time again, they are in fact treated more fairly than any white employee, excuses made to avoid taking action.

I stopped watching Netflix after they hired Harry and Megan. Not interested in anything they have.
I kept my Netflix so I could ‘dislike’ any of the programs, H & M’s documentary and this actress who said that racist remark (Bridgerton and Princess Charlotte) gave me much satisfaction

The actress was born in this country of a white mother, was brought up in a predominently white area & her husband is white. I don't believe she's spent her life living under a rock so how on earth is she not aware that the British RF (except for one who chose not to attend) is white. She's done well in a profession of her choice and appears to have had a life she should be grateful for. To speak in those terms in her country of birth with the opportunities she's had has made her look bitter when she should have shown grace - especially on a day which showcased unity.
And what happened to gratitude? Maybe she should try living in a terribly black country for a year or so?

Such a good point from Rafe: that "the portrayal in historical dramas of 'multiculturalism' (where none existed), negates and undermines the struggles that people had to go through to get to today's current level of equality". Especially for younger generations, this trend gives such a distorted view of history and misrepresents just how far humanity has come through the efforts and sacrifices of so many.

I’m an American and I Remember it was my daughter’s turn to have the flowers at the altar. She had a beautiful vase of flowers made and added a small American flag. What irritates me is how they just sit their bollockless and say nothing. I’d have pulled her up in an instant.
My town centre is now a complete no go area. We have two town centre hotels full of illegals, there are now drug related problems, lots of violence and high police presence. It angers me..not because I have anything against them, but because there are so many homeless people in the Uk now and not enough houses and resources to go around. You just can’t get a GP appointment when you need one. Police don’t turn up for law abiding citizens any more if they have a break in……but they will if there is an issue in the migrant hotels. Resources in every town/city in the UK are stretched to breaking point…..yet they arrive in their thousands and we still let them in. What is going to happen when all these illegals reach retirement age and need care and support….there will be even fewer resources for those that have contributed. Something has to be done to deter people risking their lives.
By the time they get to retirement age, they will be in power, total power. Us indigenous types will be homeless and begging on the streets.

I am not familiar with the identity of Adjoa Andoh. I have no knowledge or information about her whatsoever. I am completely unaware of any background, accomplishments, or contributions made by this individual. In other words, her name is not at all recognizable or meaningful to me.
Im a lefty, and proud but this womans comment was utterly rediculous. Of course the balcony was full of white people, they are a family with hundreds of years of ancestry of european heritage who are a royal family of a European country. Its not surprising is it?

This actress obviously doesn’t realize the show she is working on is a work of fiction written by an American writer/producer named Shondra Rhimes who is black. Shondra’s first show Grey’s Anatomy has a mostly white cast. That silly actress’s play isn’t doing well and she is one of the producers of it.
I think she thinks that even given what H&MM have done they should have been on the balcony.

The problem with taking illegal immigrants is that it takes a toll on the local citizens that are also struggling. I am all for helping people who were oppressed in their country but they should be given a time limit on how long they can just rely on government funds. They should be given enough training to be useful members of society. Plus. they need to adjust to the customs, beliefs and traditions of the country who accepted them instead of forcing their beliefs and expect everyone else to accommodate them.
People should complain to offcom i have and so have 4,160 people so far, why should she get away with racist comments and other people have to make apologies or lose their jobs for less

The bias of that ridiculous woman is obviously not unconscious. I don't kniw what her origins are but presumably her family were wrlcomed into England at some stage and were given every opportunity to prosper and now she has the bare-faced cheek to speak that way about the Royal family.
