I believe they are sitting because they aren't that comfortable. I had a chance to get them but on foot...they felt terrible on my foot. That goes for the 95's for me too. I love the look but I'm not spending $185+ just for looks anymore. Maybe I'm getting old! LOL
Silver bullets are cool but I’m not crazy about metallic colorways…also the price…all airmax prices should be reduced by $20 at least…I do love 97s tho
It's been great to see the younger generation embrace the Air Max 97's the past few years! As it is a unique design. You either like them or you don't. My nephew surprised me a few years back when he sported these in a black camo edition. I agree with you! The silver bullet, the original, colorway is my favorite! I bought these back in 1997. The crazy part is I still have them!! I didn't wear them much back then, or I took care of them because I was a poor college student! Today I have to clean the air bubble on occasion as it gets cloudy. When this colorway was recently rereleased, I had to pick them up! I have them next to my originals. Nike did a great job of duplicating these to the original design! I haven't worn them yet other than trying them on. The designer was influenced by titanium bikes not aluminum. Titanium was all the rage in the 90's. It was an expensive indestructible material used for many things, and one of those was in the mountain biking world. I vividly remember using some of my college grant/loan money to buy a mountain bike frame. It was cool to hear that the designer of the AM 97 was inspired by the look of titanium when the shoes were released. As his vision made perfect sense!
Love the look of the 97s. I have the 2017 pair. Thats why they are sitting. Only 5 years ago the have come out, so people still have them. Its not like we have all the money in the world to buy multiple pairs these days...
Oh yea, I had to choose between the Air Max 97's or the Nike Air Zoom Spiridon. The Spiridons had a funky bottom sole. There was a split of the sole under the forefoot. It was just an awkward fitting and feeling for me. So thankfully I bought the AM 97's in 1997!
Honestly, not sure why these sat. The 2016 pair wasn’t comfortable at all, but these are so much better feeling on foot. I’m happy with my pair. Would have copped the gold pair but still have the last retro release.
Got a pair on a Black Friday sale, crazy steal. Air bubble is better on this release than the 2016. Think the price point turned some people off, but the 2016 was reselling for $250-300+ so 🤷♂
Bought my first pair since 1997 because I found them in the Nike clearance store for 69 dollars in Atlantic blue in my size 12 not my favorite color but couldn't pass up they still look great.
Tbh, I bought them because I wanted to have them because of the history and my overall love for Air Maxes. I ordered a whole size bigger and my feet were still crammed up in them. I had to return them for Nike. I can order a bigger size but they're already long and would make my foot look goofy. I'll stick to the 1's, 90s and 95s.
Currently price points are big issue when it comes to purchasing sneakers, the air max 1 is the OG and last year was an important anniversary year for the model, which is still continuing into 2023 in the UK., overshadowing the Jordan 1. Don't own the air max 97, but will get one from the sales as so many Nike sneakers are sitting on shelves for months.
It depends on the size. Because I took an L and wasnt able to find a pair in my size anywhere. But I see pairs sitting in smallere sizes. smh same with some of the air max penny 1's. I take L's and others get to catch them on sale after they sit. Nike needs to release more pairs in bigger sizes.
I like them but comfort is not there. Even when i tried "one of the most comfortable sneakers" airmax 90 is uncomfy for me. What more these. Plus price point near 200usd, theres so much better shoes for that price. Am90s sit at 160 to 170 and theyre so much better
the retro 97s is really uncomfy...and the lacing system on the tongue is nightmare to me as I tie my shoes every single time owned a pair and its done, never gonna get another pair
I feel like the hype died down on them because the people who wore them grew up. Now those people want comfort and have moved to new balance or other more comfortable options.
With that large air unit in the sole, you would think, you´d be walking on clouds. But no. These are mad hard! almost no cushion. I wonder that it is not possible for nike to make retros more comfortable when they rerelease. They change the uppers, cuts, materials... but the cushion? No. Same for the AJ1. put less pressure n the air unit, make it more comfy!
While on this topic I noted something odd with the drop of the latest airmax 1 crepe in grey. The hemp crepe airmax 1 literally dropped oft several sites on the same day, including snkrs and sneakersnstuff. Coincidence?
Since i was a kid i was always buying air max, last pair of airmax was the airmax 2016 white and black(it looked like the today Oreo) and a white pair that i still have, since that time Nike release the vapormax which is ugly and nothing compared to the style that the airmax had
I have a pair of white 97s and they look super clean, but Jesus Christ they feel like I’m wearing rocks on my feet. Most uncomfortable shoes I’ve ever worn in my life. More uncomfortable than hockey skates or snowboard boots.
AM97s are terribly uncomfortable. Just like Huraches. I wonder why so many AM97s always sit no matter how popular a certain shoe is for that model. Hmmmm.
AirMax IMHO has not stood the test of time. It has not reached the legacy of say the J1 that even though is not a comfy shoe or have groundbreaking tech has that legacy. Last AirMax that I copped was the Evo and it was sitting and went on clearance even though it had an interesting story ( box was a stitch of the the past airmax boxes, had paperwok of the history and tech plus the shoes itself is an amalgam from the different eras of AirMax). Sure there are a ton of collabs that are hype but for me it's not sustainable. If someone makes them a sick collab line or Nike reinvents them into something groundbreaking it might reach the height of popularity again.
I believe they are sitting because they aren't that comfortable. I had a chance to get them but on foot...they felt terrible on my foot. That goes for the 95's for me too. I love the look but I'm not spending $185+ just for looks anymore. Maybe I'm getting old! LOL
Those are the most uncomfortable AMs to me. Never again.
this is the exact reason i dont touch em
Air max 97 360 changed that for sure
Yup. Terrible on feet
Just swap insoles in them and u chillin
My favourite air max are the Tailwind 4, then the 2090 and the 200. They are so comfortable and durable. The 95 hurts my ancles.
I actually need these quite badly. I love airmax ones... but these are one of my favorite airmax. The silver bullet specifically.
Still love the Air Max 97s! Happy I was able to get these gems again!
Dang I was like 2 seconds too late for first
Mike Rich said it best, "hype moves in mysterious ways".
The Michigan AM97 are my go to beaters. I remember there was so much hype around the silver bullets in 2017. Def gonna have to scoop a pair.
Silver bullets are cool but I’m not crazy about metallic colorways…also the price…all airmax prices should be reduced by $20 at least…I do love 97s tho
Nike should have put 3M reflective panels and reflective shoelaces, Gore-tex inner linings and Trail outsoles for an updated look 🙏
That’s facts

TN's are the best of the air max lineage. They are a +10 for escaping the cops on foot

I need these and the Puerto Rico 97s. They have been on my list for a while

one of my fav Air max in my collection. still have my 2013 pair. so good 👌🏻
Wish Nike would show more love to the BW we need a stash BW retro on a Air Max Day release
Still have my 2017 pair DS
Copped a pair online for below retail before release. Now just waiting for it to go on sale to double or maybe triple up on these.
My pair from the last release is still like new
Like from 5 years ago, that's cool!
Gold medals release next week too
Out of all, the Milleniums are my most favourite one!
Triple white air max 97s are my favorite shoe of all time
I like them but comfort is not there. Even when i tried "one of the most comfortable sneakers" airmax 90 is uncomfy for me. What more these. Plus price point near 200usd, theres so much better shoes for that price. Am90s sit at 160 to 170 and theyre so much better

owned a pair and its done, never gonna get another pair
Nike should bring Talarias
Air max 95 always been my favorite.
AM 1's and 97's are so uncomfortable to me. I have tried a few models in each silhouette, but they are no go's for my feet.
I got the 97's but with white, I can't rock that silver
I have them in 5 coloways
I feel like the hype died down on them because the people who wore them grew up. Now those people want comfort and have moved to new balance or other more comfortable options.
Them things is like wearing 🧱 on your feet
They are horribly uncomfortable. I can wear any shoe, never had an issue even with narrow ones. These hurt different

Used a 10% off coupon for these. Easy cop. Love my Silver 97s
Paid $185 plus tax for mine, my gf got hers on sale for $108 total 😂
Some tn
To me 97’s sole is too stiff for my comfort
I’m a fan of 95’s more
While on this topic I noted something odd with the drop of the latest airmax 1 crepe in grey. The hemp crepe airmax 1 literally dropped oft several sites on the same day, including snkrs and sneakersnstuff. Coincidence?

Beautiful shoes but lacks cushion
I wore the 💩 outta my AM 90 infrared
People still got the last pair from 2017
No idea why others don't like em, but I don't because the AM97 is both uncomfortable and overpriced.
I love the BW the most
I would think u come from the Netherlands Joop?
That’s because they keep restocking them every other couple year..
Hi
So many colorways they didnt even notice.
I have a pair of white 97s and they look super clean, but Jesus Christ they feel like I’m wearing rocks on my feet. Most uncomfortable shoes I’ve ever worn in my life. More uncomfortable than hockey skates or snowboard boots.

Always hated 97s,.. in 97 I hated them.... and those tiny air bags make it worse......
the last neon 95s release quality was atrocious. glue stains everywhere
I don't wear them cause some drug addicts and people who on social welfare wear them where I live. Same with Canada goose
The price is was too much in my opinion
Nobody got any money dude! Well I knows I haven’t 😊
Nike still selling them 80's and 90's shoes. Innovation? Nah bro 😆
They are uncomfortable. Had to return
They aren’t comfortable. And Nike keeps dropping them frequently.
so many sneakers so little $$$
The silver bullets r jus ugly and the 97 r ok
Yeah they look like a silver loaf of bread in person.
First
Terrible shoes. Firm like concrete and way too small. I’ll never touch another pair.

the hype on the 97 died down because it is an UGLY shoe of nikes. The waviness is just.....silly and doesn't work
I’m going for the Gold
Silver is def not the best color way of the 97s it’s way more better color ways
