Phil Gould mentions this snare intro on his Facebook page: "The 84 show is weird tho as the engineer saw fit to trigger a Linn Drum snare from my snare resulting in some strange triggering effects! ....the intro to Almost There is a press roll into singles..NOT the out of control beats that resulted from the Linn trigger..I did NOT play that. If anybody knows the name of the engineer, or where he lives...I have a score to settle! LOL
Sad thing is the US likes what’s popular - theirs many of us though that think outside the box and wanna hear variety and great talent . I like to dig deeper . I found level 42 in a used music store , the guaranteed album then went back and bought everything else and I just love their funk fusion style . It’s way cool , too bad Boon died without a full reunion he was a great guitarist
Awesome... the snare at the beginning was a bit weird. They got tighter as the song went on. I saw them 4 times in the early 80's ..love their early stuff :)
RIP Boon Gould. Killer playing here.

Gonn miss you Boon.
Watching in 2019. This was the best line up.
Cheers from Australia.
Outrageously good
mark is really freakin good
Shame there’s no HD footage of the original line up. Phil Gould is such a top player
Brings back very good memories!!!!!!!!
The Best!
That guitar!!!
So damn good.
Gould Bros. Gold musicians
Today, Boon is passed away. R.I.P. Boon...
this is enormous
Incredible!!! I miss me some Level 42!
Love this band! Thanks for the post!
Industrial base. The King!
Boon R.I.P.
5.27 to 5.30 - just ridiculously precise and clean !
I think the snare triggering would sound quite good if it had accurate velocity. Instead it makes all the ghost notes sound way too loud.
it ruined most of the gig TBH, real shame
Ese guitarrista era el mejor que tenia el grupo, lastima que se murio...

The mixer failed there.
Back when they were good.
Oh mil disculpas, me he equivocado, ese es Boon Gould, lo confundi con Alan Murphy
Eso está bien, supuse que te referías Boon.
¿Quién murió?
Jesus, yeah,... but he was soon back again... You can't keep a GOOD MAN down.... :)
