Yes... I keep on saying that... its because most modules call it CLK which sounds more like Click to me than Clock.... but of course you're absolutely right. Modular Mondays are weird a sub series on RUclips about a subject the presenter knows very little about! Not entirely sure it is the secret of a successful career as a youtuber!
Bit off topic Christian: Have you considered doing effect plugins at Spitfire? Similar to your EDNA engines, maybe effects based around samples such as delays that will play backwards, granular or random repeats etc. Just a thought
Looking good! The Cartesian mode allows you to independently clock the x and y movements which works really well with the Tempi since you can easily set one clock rate for x and one for y. Set them to equal rates, for instance, and, if you start Rene off in the lower left hand corner, it'll move diagonally to the upper right.
Hi Christian, just want to thank you personally for these Vlogs and all your others too. I lost my father to cancer in May so its been a really tough year, just wanted to show my appreciation of all the efforts you have made in these vlogs as they have provided so much insight, inspiration and laughter that pulled me out of a dark state of mind. I now have invested in a modular system which I am loving and also have a Rene, so thankful for this video.. Keep up the great work sir!
Have fun with that Rene. It does indeed look like a bit of a learning curve for those advanced features like moving in-between states and all sorts. Looks pretty powerful! I look forward to seeing how he works with a Teletype. Mine is somewhere over the Atlantic as we speak!
Thanks Christian and Sandy for these videos, making the somewhat impenetrable subject (at least to me) of modular synthesis engaging and entertaining. I'm also loving how the Modular Mondays videos are morphing to some extent into Maker Mondays. Does Sandy have his own channel? I'd love to see some videos that dive deeper into his own projects without diluting the essence of Christian's own channel. Sandy's contributions are perfect for this channel as they stand, but personally I'd like to know more.
It's back! 🙏 I was literally half way through a Rene 2 walkthrough video when the alert for this popped up... I'm really none the wiser... Looks deep, but Make Noise design scares me! I want a sequencer that is fun and intuitive from the get go. I have my eye on the Trigger Riot from Tip Top Audio, which looks a lot of fun to use and seems to offer a lot of interesting random options to add a bit of excitement and direction to your regular step sequencer stuff.
This is not the best Rene demo ever, especially randomizing snake mode on the fun page and trying to attenuate the filter (which should be handled by the quantizer off or a bigger range), but I do feel Rene MK2 is the most creative sequencer ever and I hope you've figured it out at the end.
Honestly very strange system, there's too much modulation sources and almost nothing to modulate, just one oscillator and one filter. I thought the plan was to have a portable standalone system, that would be usable on the road.
I don’t understand the relationship between Christian and Sanfy or why he appears on the channel. here is my guess based on their relationship: Christian is married to Sandy’s sister. Casually it would explain why Christian lives in Sdotland, Sandy is a Scottish who lives in America, they don’t seem familialy related and yet they keep each other close like you would a brother-in-law who you especially get along with. let me know ij the comments if you aggee with my theory. deteftive rebus.
NutritionalZero Sandy works for spitfire and is an expert with modular synths, I also work for spitfire and am whatever the exact opposite of expert with modular synths is... whilst the somewhat weird concept of mod mons is a “let’s learn this together” I thought it wise to have a charismatic chap who is an expert and someone I would also consider to be a friend and a lovely guy. He’s also the head of customer service in the USA and by all accounts a total legend. Hope that clears stuff up... but you were right in one respect, I did marry a Scot, but not Sandy’s sister.
Actually it's X and Y clock, not click :) The new Rene is awesome! Will have to upgrade my gen 1...

Your videos are so well shot! :) Love the style, presentation, and content. Very glad I happened across this channel
Would LOVE to see and learn more about Sandy's computer build
YES!

Love me a good crossover episode! Keep up the good work, looking forward to the next ones.
Great video, what type of case is this?

That little bell has been dinged for quite a while now, do we get more vids if we keep dinging it?
Love your work! Sent you a letter a while back! Hope ya got it :)
Just curious, what lens are you using on the GH5 for your walking vlog style videos?
Hi Christian..Whats the total HP of the skiff?
Sandy, get a monome Teletype and plonk it in the old mac case!

lol Tempi and René are total overkill for this skiff. Needs a Cold Mac though.

Fedor T for me it is so I can learn stuff in the masses of downtime on the road so Aleks set this system up primarily for me to get my head round Rene
@@TheCrowHillCo Ah, gotcha, makes sense
Er... it’s not flautando is it?!! My eyebrows and forehead hurt!
