caps lock indicator light doesnt work!! I have msi modern 14 and I reset the device caps lock indicator light doesnt work anymore after resetting. Is there any solutşon for this
Definitely add me to the list of computer users who will hold off on migrating to Win11 for at least another year (or two). Windows 10 is dead reliable for me on my various Ryzen PC's and I plan on continuing to use it for quite some time.
I've planned to upgrade to 11 not until at least the coming summer passes. But given the stream of problems, might as well stick to 10 for another year lol
windows 11 is just windows 10 21h2 but with a couple of extra features and a new skin. It's not like it's a jump from xp to vista or something. I've been runniong it on 5600X since the amd poatch and had no issues at all. It's exactly like running windows 10.
I have tried Windows 11 4 different times during the Betas and after it’s release. I use a 3950x a great CPU that works great. I just built my rig last year I have stable overclocks that run well on Windows 10, but each time I go to Windows 11 it seems to have problems I had random shutdowns and as a result I clean installed Windows 10 again. After that I had no problem. Combine that experience with the features they take away in Windows 11 from the taskbar to simple things like not seeing icons on folders anymore like in all Windows OSs before Windows 11. Lets me it’s not ready and I don’t understand why they released it or didn’t just keep using Windows 10 OS. I’m sure intel CPU’s are still experiencing problems even Alder Lake has to be seeing some of these problems. Windows 11 shouldn’t exist.
Thanks, Brian for the care you take with these materials to prevent, the multitude of frustrations generated by these issues. The patience and care with which you share them, helps many users. Thank you!
This is one of the first times, I've noticed any software manufacturer that made an upgrade deliberately worse. It takes more clicks to do nearly anything, they deliberately screw with muscle memory to do anything, they change things, simply to be changing things, which is screwy to start with. I agree with the start menu is bonkers. I don't plan on upgrading until late 2025.
@@64BBernard You don't like going... oh yeah, to shut down or restart every single time. Constantly retraining us to do the same fucking thing we did yesterday but with less efficiency. I'm not sure if you've noticed but it's even extending to the grocery store. Nobody can figure out how to check themselves out anymore without triggering the help light and holding up everyone because an empty bag is on the scale. Apple is no better with this either.
I am holding off as long as possible. I can't stand it when they make things worse. I share your sentiments exactly. And this is typically Microsoft...release a shitty product and have the public cry out for fixes rather than getting it right the first time.
@@9kyorgyoti3 excuse me but your opinion is plain wrong only vista and 8 and 11 is garbage also even if apple released M1 that does not necessarily mean that Apple is better than Microsoft Apple is very restrictive and less customisable than windows also most games and software are incompatible with macbooks
The Start menu is appalling even though it is one of the OS's main usability features. The individual who signed off on this design has no idea and should be assigned to other duties.
Although I have absolutely no use for windows 11 at the moment, I think the consensus is to wait at least 6 mo. before installing. if you feel you do need it.
After watching your videos Brian I'm happy to stay on 10. I really wish they would work on performance and bloat instead of trying to make it flashy, breaking it and adding more clicks to a task. I'm using Zorin OS on a laptop and it's really clean and nice to use, maybe redstone could take some notes from Zorin. Great video keeping people informed, thanks!
Zorin has been hacked, and it is crap. Windows is universal and widely supported. People will always complain and find problems that do not really exist
I have been using Windows 11 for about a week. I installed it on a mini PC I use mainly for media streaming to my TV as I do most of my viewing through RUclips TV. This PC isn't critical to my daily life so I figured I would install it and ride out all the bugs and updates. So far it's been alright. It looks to me like Windows 10 with a slight graphical upgrade.
i've been using it since release now on my main pc and i dont know why everyone hates this. There were bugs, yeah, like that the search window is 2cm higher, but that's not a big problem i think. It never crashed or sth. and i'm happy with this new ui (even tho the inconsistency is still a big part
Big UI downgrades. Only 18 pinned apps on a given page on the start menu. Cannot get access to all functions of right click context menus without additional 'expand' click. No side taskbar for those that want it (I am not one of them but still). There's plenty more, and one or two good things.
I have a mini PC (Intel NUC) used only for media, streaming and watching stored video files. The media streaming from various sites is thru the web browser. So Windows 11 is way overkill for this. I use Linux (in my case Ubuntu) for this and it has been trouble and hassle free. And Ubuntu plays any video codec. For a remote, I use a Logitech keyboard with built in trackpad. Of course if you want to access other things via this, you can too.
Winaero Tweaker will sort out most of these problems inc sorting out the 'right click' menu..I hated the new vers..this puts the original back! Great video as always
As a disabled person, I can't comfortably use the taskbar unless it's on the right side of the screen. I didn't know that you can't change the position in Windows 11. Thanks for mentioning it.
Upgraded to Windows 11 on multiple lab machines. Supported and unsupported. All seem to be working well for now. Thank you Britec09 for this great video.
I accidentally installed Windows 11 when I thought it just a normal Windows 10 upgrade. For a couple of days it was fine, and then I started working on a project where I had to copy, paste, rename, and delete a bunch of files and also set up new folders. I quickly discovered the "Show more options" line, which requires an extra mouse click in Windows 11 to accomplish these tasks. I found this really slowed my progress down. My system also froze several times, especially when using LibreOffice spreadsheet program. I had a Word 2013 document, and was not able to upgrade the Table of Contents, but I am not sure if that was due to the Windows 11 update. Fortunately, I was able to restore Windows 10 easily, since Windows 11 had been installed for less than ten days.
There are certainly minor annoyances with windows 11 but, overall, it's been a great experience for me. Like not having the right click menu keep mixing up the content and making me hunt down where it has moved the "open with" menu item. Task bar has not crashed once on me so far. And my Wi-Fi issues seem to have vanished. It's also faster at almost everything (except booting), they've uncluttered windows and made it easier to navigate. Plus, it's a lot prettier. So far, I have no regrets upgrading and when (Maybe if?) direct storage gets done... Oh boy. As a gamer and game developer, this should be special. But yes. There are certainly annoying aspects like how fidgety explorer can become. Explorer is also prone to minor unresponsiveness for about a second (but it only happens once in long while).
And what i am waiting for is the use of Android programs on Windows 11. That will be a big plus for me having frequently used programs on Android to use on my PC instead being stucked on my chromebook or tablet.
Great video, I'm definitely deterred now lol Only been using W10 for less than 3 years, and it also takes some work after a fresh install, but atleast I'm now comfortable with post install tweaking it, so not really in a rush to figure out 11.
Installed once the Ryzen patch came out. Have to say I am happy with it since none of these mentioned features are an issue for me. Only detail I did notice from the ones you mention is the task manager option now missing. But since I normally use the CTRL + SHIFT + ESC key combination to open it up, it doesn't really bother me.
I have three computers, Intel is the best. AMD will never beat Intel. I have used many Ryzen CPUs. I do not prefer them. I had NO issues before this so called patch with Ryzen..people are idiots..it gets old!~
@@ernies8828 fanboys like yourself are the real idiots. Bringing this subject of one company beating another when that was not the subject is uncalled for. AMD has gained the market it has because it has presented the public with a great product whilst Intel did nothing but scam people off their money with minor improvements each generation, denying they could do things they went and did immediately after they saw AMD doing them. I hope AMD keeps gaining market share as they have. Both companies make good products in the end. I just went Ryzen because the 5900x was the best option for me at the time.
I've been using windows 11 since AMD issued the ryzen patch. So far on my rig i've not had any issues. Performance is about the same, The taskbar, start menu settings app and quick settings regressions are pissing me off. No task manager when right clicking on the taskbar is something people are gonna hate. But overall right now. It's mostly fine. 1:38 I set a button on my mouse in the end. 3:02 But disabling that also disables the jump lists for pinned taskbar icons, so if you're like me and run steam games using the jump list from it's taskbar icon, you can't do that any more. The recommended feature on the start menu is probably the worst thing i have found in win 11 so far 9:09 So the registry tweak to resize the taskbar breaks the clock 11:49 and then they scream windows is crap and microsoft sucks when really it's their own fault
people who hate these things are babies. get over it. it is more streamlined. that is the point. people do not like some changes. you cannot have an upgraded version and have everything stay the same...cry me a river!
@@ernies8828 You must have things as you wish. You buy the software you are owner... You should have right to customise your OS as you wish, but since it's Windows and closed source you can't. Therefore there is Linux the ultimate pick for those who want to own their computer and not "to be owned".
For this time, I still stay at Latest version of Windows 10. Is still Good enough for my daily activities, like for entertainment, works, create, etc The Windows 10 will end of support in 2025, and is still quite long if I count from now and I still Just Fine stay with Windows 10
But Win 10 was told to us to be the be all end all with Windows yet here we are seeing the need to eventually upgrade equipment that is perfectly fine because of MS support holding us hostage.
I went back and forth between the two over 2 months and finally settled on Windows 11. I'm a gamer and games were much smoother with the least amount of "dicking around" The menu system is not the best, but that is not the most important for me.
I was hesitant on installing and watched this and now I’m definitely installing. Most of the points you made are aesthetic problems which are subjective. The new look is a nice refresh from boxes. But great video otherwise
Exactly my point...his points are for people who can't adapt to change....an example is the stupid point made about how the taskbar is now as oppsed to windows 10...These are minor "issues" that can be adjusted to
I upgraded my laptop to Windows 11 and after 4 days I went back to Windows 10. One thing annoys me: Taskbar: Never combine icons on Taskbar, Task Manager menu is gone…and some small things. I hope they’ll bring back those features.
Thanks, Brian cos I was thinking of upgrading my one and only compatible machine and now I think I shall hold off for quite a bit longer and run 10 like some others have said for a year or so. What I am worried about is that my apps and settings ie my Open-Shell and translucency plus the drivers for my printer for example will not be carried over. As for the other machines I have my main desktop is an older Ivy Bridge build so it will have to sadly go though I shall wait until 10 run out for that to happen. Some of the things you mentioned here certainly seem to be a backward step in some instances ie the taskbar function and having to change all the browser settings though personally, I don't mind Edge for a browser. I shall of course use the other videos you have posted to tidy up some things when the time comes and thanks again for being such a wealth of knowledge😊
I had to stop at 5:24. Oh man, I get what the title is about but 20 minutes of this belly ache would be too much for me. Thanks for the video just the same.
I installed Windows 11 the second I could and love it! Has a couple of odd quirks but I have already adapted. Then again, all I do is solely game in Windows so really most of people's issues I probably will never encounter.
As a Windows Admin for a company, from what playing around I've done on a VM of Windows 11, it's got a lot of issues from a deployment standpoint. There are so many changes to domain and active directory settings. Unfortunately the active directory settings that are existing in Windows 10 are not compatible with Windows 11 after the update. That creates a headache of about 800-900 Windows machines that I have to manage. The easiest way to update with NUCs is to wipe them and clean install Windows 11. That means going through hundreds of classrooms, swapping NUCs and then updating them, hoping the teachers have saved any data off of the NUC before doing that. It's a headache. Also the lack of a complete workstation version of Windows 11 is infuriating.
I can't understand some points you mentioned. Your problem is, that you don't want changes. Let the icons in the center and your task manager issue is gone. What's the problem with moving your cursor to the start button near the center and make your right click instead of moving it to a empty space on the task bar? So or so you only have to do 2 clicks. I also think it is much more intuitiv, when the icons are centered. The new start menu is, in my opinion, absolutely great. It is clean and easy to use and to personalize with the programs you use and need the most. The right click menu is new, ok and you need a little time till you get used to it, but the most common commands are there. In form of icons or text. And it is easier just to move your mouse a bit higher and click an icon than moving thru a large list of entries only to rename something, for example. And the old menu is only 1 mouse click further away. That not every computer, chip or mainboard is supported by Windows 11, is not Microsofts fault. It is the manufacturers problem. They haven't implemented the technology. TPM exists for more than 12 years and TPM 2.0 for more than 7. TPM and Secure Boot are essential security features, especially in times like this, when malware and ransomware are a big problem. It is a new OS and some things changed, some for the better, some not, but if nothing is changed, or you don't want changes, you don't need a new OS. My major issue with Windows 11 at the time is, that you can't drag 'n drop files to a program in the task bar, but I've heard that this will be fixed in an future update.
Windows 11 is just Windows 10 with elements ripped off of Mac, like the centered "Dockbar" with icons even bigger than those from Windows 7's "Superbar" ("inspired" by Mac's glassy dock) and the same looking open window identifiers, acrylic context menus and the "system tray" or however Microsoft tries to brand it nowadays, but it's still the old, buggy, heavy Windows 10 with another layer of visual refresh that stacks on top of the classic interface, Whistler's Watercolor, Luna, Longhorn's early Aero, Aero, Metro and the classic Fluent, making it an ever bigger mess than MS-DOS, not to mention the Start Menu now being an app shelf from Android and the 4 other useless taskbar icons (7 only had the Start Button after all, and was easy to use)
On the context menu. When you click on "Show more options" it opens to the exact same options. No need to click. I can see this going away or it is being saved for future items.
Microsoft really thought long and hard about how to make the taskbar and startmenu experience a lot more unpleasant. Kudos to Microsoft. They really succeeded.
The biggest windows 11 issue is not being able to change app defaults like we could in Windows 10. Now we have to do it via extension which really sucks.
and they will not, because windows 11 requires more current CPUs to be upgraded in order to support the security that is needed. people are so stupid..you cannot use older hardware with new versions of an operating system..did you know one of the biggest exploits is HARDWARE based? That is one reason why you should have a new computer with Windows 11. I did it within a week, before it was being released. You should always use the most current hardware, and upgrade your hardware every 3 to 5 years max.
totally agree with this breakdown. my adobe photoshop and premiere are also crashing after ive updated to windows 11. I definitely regret updating to 11.
Great review. My computer is great but isn't compatible with 11. Seeing this brings a smile, now I can hold out until 2025. Maybe Windows 13 will replace this quickly like Vista if it's truly a mess..
I've used CTRL+ALT+DEL for the Task Manager, since the beginning of time. Not sure what you're goin on about on that one. lol But, my current issue with 11 is the same issue I had with 10 that caused me to go to 11, hoping it would fix it. My icons won't stay where I put them. I've gone through every options I can find on google searches and none of it works. I have always placed a shortcut to "My Computer/This PC" next to the recycle bin, at the top left. Now, the shortcut won't stay there. When I refresh or reboot, it moves to the left center, in the middle of the area where I keep other folders. I'm majorly OCD, and it pesters the hell out of me when I can't keep everything uniform, to my own preferred layout. I thought upgrading to Windows 11 would fix that issue, but I was proven wrong.
Agreed. I don't think I've ever run task manager any other way except from command prompt. I didn't even know you could right click there to get to task manager.
A word to the wise: Win11 is in MANY stages of upgrades. Growing with the times and needs change too. BUT.....ALWAYS make your system first create a "RESTORE POINT" before rebooting to install the new downloads. This SHOULD BE DONE BY EVERYONE, and can be configured to automatically do so through the control panel's SYSTEM choices. Someday you may be terribly GLAD YOU DID this!
Microsoft just BRING back the windows 7 start menu and give that the windows 11 theme I’m using start all back app sit so much better they should just use something like that I am one that heats the windows 10 start menu and the windows 11 start menu
It seems like everything I usually used in windows is now , at least, one more step to accomplish the same task. WHY? And I agree, what is that start menu of random crap?
Good news! All of the windows 11 problems will be fixed in windows 12! And windows 12 is closer than you think because this time Microsoft is not going to allow any lengthy testing process or even planning or design processes to get in the way of releasing windows 12. This is particularly exciting because windows 12 will be even better for Microsoft! Windows 12 will have even more ads (Which users will be completely unable to turn off) and Will make it nearly impossible to avoid using the software that Microsoft wants to force you to use!
For those who use Linux OS (whatever version it is) over Windows. Well, they happy with it, but they also will deal with things like Not many Programs can run even Hardware like 🖨️ etc Linux OS (whatever version it is) maybe is Fun for user who moved from Windows/Mac. But I think they will deal with things that I said above. Sorry, Guys. Not Fan of Linux OS
when i gamed on windows 11, the game reads 60fps, but the screen is displaying less. i never seen that happen before and wondering if you can figure out the probable cause to it. keep up the great vids. :D
Task manager issue? I just created a shortcut to it on the task bar. I usually do that with commonly used programs and applications. Makes life a whole lot easier. I have had the typing in the start menu issue as well but it went away for me too. I have had one major incident yesterday where the graphics driver subsystem took a massive dump on me and froze the system up, it recovered and a new driver install fixed that. Otherwise a pretty good OS in this users view.
People just don’t like change. I am a Linux and MS user, often Linux OS upgrades have many issues, many people like to complain. I feel the interface has improved, it looks better, and users need to spend sometime to become familiar with the layout. As for the privacy aspects, I totally agree, it would be an opt in service.
Firstly : they forced software on us in Windows 10 Now : they're forcing hardware on us in Windows 11 I think that Microsoft has made enough benefits from Windows OS selling and they have come a long way in terms of OS revolution and they should live up to the new Era by providing a Basic Edtion of new Windows .. while having ZERO BLOATWARE installed and activable Windows by email for free (kind of a Community Edition of Delphi Embarcadero ) while maintaining the security benefits and maybe some new Features in the exchange of having no themes but a "Basic Edition" look with Dark Mode Having a Basic Edition would imply that we have to install all apps needed even MSOffice Google Drive And even Updates if they wanted to be cheap and let us struggle for Customizability at the cost of Update Scheduling
It's free this is what you get with free stuff they get payed big money now to have this bloatware forced onto you. They still have to make money off you some how. This also means selling your data to governments.

I’m totale agree with you , Microsoft has changed for worst ; on the file explorer on the ribbon , the two buttons « Copy to » and « Move to » have been removed unfortunatly and we don’t have thé icon file opens and now we have to open them to see if there is something inside .
This is what happens when you let the marketing group sit in on the engineering meetings. This also what happens when you put the onus of regression testing on your customers.
Same issues here, that's why I am dual booting with linux for production and development, very unstable, they were rushing release, I might get a Mac soon then
If by dual booting you mean Windows and a Linux distribution are both installed into the same storage drive... Them you're begging for a rabbit hole of eventual problems. Better to keep the two worlds in separate storage drives
I've had a few issues with Windows 11: The browser loads slower, the snipping tool didn't work so I had to reinstall the old windows 10 snipping tool which was always fine, but leave it to MS to screw with things that didn't need to be touched. Another issue is Outlook at times will not let me type in the Subject box. If I have started typing in the body I have to copy, close Outlook, open it again, then paste what I had started typing into a new email. When MS offered to upgrade they should have mentioned its in beta which it clearly is.
Well since my last comment Brian I have been running the version for unsupported hardware and the most annoying thing I don't like is the shutdown process that includes a two-click process.
The only thing I have found that is bad about Windows 11 is that, if you use the slideshow for the background, it refreshes all the open windows back up to the top of the window every time it changes the background picture. This used to happen in Windows 10 at the beginning. So I'm still waiting for them to fix this. AS for them forcing their rubbish onto us, we have seen this before, we need to overwhelm them with complaints until they back down and give us what we want. just spam the feedback section with complaint's.
The only issue I have with Win11 (so far) is that it does not like my wireless keyboard and I have had to switch to a wired one. I agree with you on the Menu, it is not as easy to navigate.

I have set Device Manager to the default and deleted USB mouse & KB for sanities sake!
You do know you can pin the task manager to the taskbar, right? It really is a non issue. Instead of right clicking on the taskbar and then clicking task manager, just click the icon on the taskbar. You can also list the apps by clicking any letter and alphabetical popup appears which makes it easy to look for the app you want. A lot of the complaints made here already have solutions.
Still feels buggy I had to clean install it after trying it just last night. Windows 10 is still so much better. Why they even released it makes no since. I almost upgraded to windows 11 as they bundled the option with the latest update. Kinda freaked me out a bit. Microsoft just seems to be dumbing down their OS with each release which doesn't make sense.
I recently bowed to the inevitable and allowed Windows to upgrade to 11. Since upgrading, I've had constant problems playing video. The video will stall for a couple of seconds then jump, although the sound plays perfectly. May be a bandwidth issue, since I've also noticed a lag in scrolling at times. If I download the video and play it as a file, it plays perfectly.
The Intel Killer network slow internet issue Kay be being addressed by Intel and some of the PC manufacturers. My daily driver PC is a Dell all in one with a 10th gen i7 last week I got a driver update alert from the Dell support center and it was a killer network driver update which I didn't know I had an Intel Killer network for my Ethernet until I saw that.
For me, the worst is that in Windows 11 you can´t sync Bluetooth devices anymore in the WIN+K menu, it was easy in Windows 10 but now it takes more unnecesary steps to do the same thing.
Great video! That start menu is indeed horrible. The Windows 10 version is so much better to use or great alternatives such as StartAllBack or Start11 looks very good. Let's hope that Microsoft improves upon it in the future.
I have auto update permanently switched on because I want my system to be as up-to-date as possible. Unfortunately this means that MS tried to upgrade me to 11 twice. The first time I thought great I'll just get my acad to run which I did and the next time I booted it reverted back to 10. I enquired why and was told that despite my processer being bigger and faster than the required spec, it wasn't supported. Great no problem, until it did it again. Now I'm getting a little tired of it
my only issue I've been experiencing (did a clean install of win11 BTW) is when i hover my mouse on my task bar, even if I'm no where near the clock or anything, ill randomly see a thing pop up saying like "show desktop" or "ENG keyboard" or "audio settings" when my mouse is not even close to it. I'm pretty sure this is a visual bug but it is annoying
The big problems I am having first I did the registry hack to put my taskbar at the top. The search indexing and Windows update require me to run the trouble shooter every reboot to get them to function properly.
I see in some comprehensive tests using the latest Intel CPU the difference in performance between windows 10 and 11 is basically no difference at best; but overall windows 10 is out performing windows 11. Apparently, Intel are talking with Microsoft to see what can be done to improve performance. There is some irony here given MS drew a line in the sand excluding slightly older CPUs and requiring the hardware security features. So the consumer goes out buys new CPU and motherboard to accommodate it and finds performance has degraded, at least for now.
The only thing that is wrong with mine is the audio cracking/popping. Doesn't matter if I use the motherboard audio or if I use a USB audio source (ie: HyperX QuadCast). I formatted 3x but it doesn't go away.
Wait for a couple of major yearly updates, the first to fix the major bugs, the second to fix the more minor bugs. Hopefully without the updates breaking something else. So, basically, two years.
Hey Brian I think they've added some extra services in11 than windows 10. Maybe they are telemetry services, and some tasks but runs fine in my laptop. But fps is pretty low compared to win 10.
Windows 11 broke my sleep/wake settings. My pc wakes from the sleep state in response to keyboard or mouse input on Win 10. When I installed Win 11, it would not wake at all and required a hard restart. I tried a few suggested fixes, which did not help, so I went back to Win 10. It's waking properly again now.
Too many things these days are changed. I suspect someone told their people, "I want to know what can be changed. Take a look and we'll make those changes." Changes lately were made ONLY because the changes COULd be made. Used to be that a change was made because it was for the better, but these days they're changed only because they can be changed.
Didn't Microsoft state that one of their goals was to unify Windows so that only ONE version would be compatible across many devices rather than have a separate version for each device type? I'm pretty sure that's what we're seeing with Windows 11. Microsoft is making compromises with Windows 11 for desktop so it will be comparable with a more diverse range of devices.
Because of those little things, I'm not about to switch my MBR to GPT. I'll let MS mature this new system for a year or so, and then perhaps I will allow this upgrade to happen. The main reasons are, I'm perfectly fine with 10.. and on the top of that, I'm not too sure that the benefits of 11 outweight the grievancies of a yet too new system to take over. As a tech guy, this is obviously appealing, at least by curiosity standards. But certainly not on my main system. At least for now.
Nothing wrong g with Windows 11. Works fine for me. Have 400 plus games, and all kinds of software and no issues at all. Installed in less than 6 minutes, and runs sweet. Better than 10 actually. Boots real fast. Only people that have issues are people with either a lack of understanding to find things, people with very very old computers, or people who do t like change. Besides that, it's Windows. Been same since Windows 7. Everything is there, same place, same tools. Old control panel is still there if you look. Gaming performance is on par if not better in 11. I'm running AMD3900X on a X570 chipset with 32 GB ram, and a GTX2070 Extreme 8GB card with a HDR 144Hz 3840x1080 10bit ASUS 49" ultra widescreen monitor. Windows 11 is perhaps th best OS Windows and stable I have ever seen or used and I've been with Windows since Windows 3.1 and Dos .

Keep getting clock_watchdog_timeout. I know it’s not a hardware issue since got it diagnosed but can’t pin point where it is.
These little frustrating things are the reasons I don't want to switch yet
I agree, they can be annoying
I'm sure it's fine, but I'll stick with 10 for a while. When I stop hearing complaints about 11 is when I'll "upgrade".
Exactly, me too. will wait at least a 12 month, never be an early adopter, your the Pioneer, and will get problems because of it.
Just use Linux
Upgrade in 2025 when win 10's support cycle ends
Definitely add me to the list of computer users who will hold off on migrating to Win11 for at least another year (or two). Windows 10 is dead reliable for me on my various Ryzen PC's and I plan on continuing to use it for quite some time.
Yeah I hold it off to Microsoft just can't get it right on the first shot.
@@M3PH11 Any news on when 21h2 is coming? I'm looking forward to 21h2 because of AAC support for my bluetooth headphones.
Exactly my issue with muscle memory!
7 TO 8 WAS WORSE 8 TO 10 WAS TRASH LOL APPLE FIGURED IT OUT ALREADY.... MICROSOFT IS IN DENIAL

Makes sense
I'd wait at least 1 year
Yesterday I've had a problem with my pc and I have to reset the pc. Should I upgrade to windows or I just reinstall the windows 10 ?
After watching your videos Brian I'm happy to stay on 10. I really wish they would work on performance and bloat instead of trying to make it flashy, breaking it and adding more clicks to a task. I'm using Zorin OS on a laptop and it's really clean and nice to use, maybe redstone could take some notes from Zorin. Great video keeping people informed, thanks!
Why do I feel like I want to update after watching the video. Is it weird that I like the new features and doesn't mind those that were removed.
Zorin OS is really good!
Even with xfce environment with preload, that makes it even faster!
It’s a pretty decent OS when you don’t have people trying to convince you it’s garbage
@@Weeazil yeah
Great video: Thanks for the heads-up on a few of the latest Win-11 irritations.
You're welcome!
What I would really like to know, in the real world, what does Windows 11 actually give you, that makes it better? So far, I have seen nothing.
100% nothing. everything I have seen about it is the OS is worse than Windows 10 by a considerable amount
As a disabled person, I can't comfortably use the taskbar unless it's on the right side of the screen. I didn't know that you can't change the position in Windows 11. Thanks for mentioning it.
Sorry if this is a funny questions, but, what is disabled person?
@@nerddd701 Someone who has mobility issues for example
Great video, I'm definitely deterred now lol
Only been using W10 for less than 3 years, and it also takes some work after a fresh install, but atleast I'm now comfortable with post install tweaking it, so not really in a rush to figure out 11.
Good work Brian that task manager removal really suks I ended up pinning task manager to Taskbar that's my workaround.
The recommended feature on the start menu is probably the worst thing i have found in win 11 so far
9:09 So the registry tweak to resize the taskbar breaks the clock
11:49 and then they scream windows is crap and microsoft sucks when really it's their own fault
people who hate these things are babies. get over it. it is more streamlined. that is the point. people do not like some changes. you cannot have an upgraded version and have everything stay the same...cry me a river!

Is still Good enough for my daily activities, like for entertainment, works, create, etc
The Windows 10 will end of support in 2025, and is still quite long if I count from now and I still Just Fine stay with Windows 10
I only watch movies on Oculus Quest 2.
Also the lack of a complete workstation version of Windows 11 is infuriating.
much needed video. I;ve been running 11 and been hearing some issues
The only people who like Windows 11 are those that don't really know how to use an operating system. They go right into playing their game.
Sticking with Win10 until the very end until I've no choice but to switch.
Same! Win 10 is rock solid on my PC
You can always go to Zorin 16 more set up options than any other OS .Would be a good video to compare Win 11 to Zorin 16.
The biggest windows 11 issue is not being able to change app defaults like we could in Windows 10. Now we have to do it via extension which really sucks.
The only thing they need to remove is the supported processors list
and they will not, because windows 11 requires more current CPUs to be upgraded in order to support the security that is needed. people are so stupid..you cannot use older hardware with new versions of an operating system..did you know one of the biggest exploits is HARDWARE based? That is one reason why you should have a new computer with Windows 11. I did it within a week, before it was being released. You should always use the most current hardware, and upgrade your hardware every 3 to 5 years max.
totally agree with this breakdown. my adobe photoshop and premiere are also crashing after ive updated to windows 11. I definitely regret updating to 11.
Pin task manager to task bar and be done with it. I remember when we complained the same with win 10. This shall pass also.
Great review. My computer is great but isn't compatible with 11. Seeing this brings a smile, now I can hold out until 2025. Maybe Windows 13 will replace this quickly like Vista if it's truly a mess..
No matter what Microsoft does someone somewhere isn't going to be happy with it
I 100% agree.
So true !
I've used CTRL+ALT+DEL for the Task Manager, since the beginning of time. Not sure what you're goin on about on that one. lol
But, my current issue with 11 is the same issue I had with 10 that caused me to go to 11, hoping it would fix it.
I only have this problem when I connect to a monitor. But if I don’t use my laptop with a separate monitor everything usually stays where I put it
Hopefully things will get better....Thanks.
I hope so too
Well, they happy with it, but they also will deal with things like Not many Programs can run even Hardware like 🖨️ etc
Linux OS (whatever version it is) maybe is Fun for user who moved from Windows/Mac. But I think they will deal with things that I said above. Sorry, Guys. Not Fan of Linux OS
Wine keeps getting better, there are more and more windows programs you can just install and run!
Thank you for the honest review! I believe I will be waiting to install 11. If I do at all.
when i gamed on windows 11, the game reads 60fps, but the screen is displaying less. i never seen that happen before and wondering if you can figure out the probable cause to it. keep up the great vids.
Firstly : they forced software on us in Windows 10
Now : they're forcing hardware on us in Windows 11
I think that Microsoft has made enough benefits from Windows OS selling and they have come a long way in terms of OS revolution and they should live up to the new Era by providing a Basic Edtion of new Windows .. while having ZERO BLOATWARE installed and activable Windows by email for free (kind of a Community Edition of Delphi Embarcadero ) while maintaining the security benefits and maybe some new Features in the exchange of having no themes but a "Basic Edition" look with Dark Mode
Having a Basic Edition would imply that we have to install all apps needed even MSOffice Google Drive
And even Updates if they wanted to be cheap and let us struggle for Customizability at the cost of Update Scheduling
Thanks for sharing your opinions

This is what happens when you let the marketing group sit in on the engineering meetings. This also what happens when you put the onus of regression testing on your customers.
This is the crap you get when there is no competition...you see the same with Nvidia although that's getting some pressure from AMD and Intel.

I was an early beta tester for Vista. I am shocked that Microsoft realized an operating system this bad. Start menu and all menus are horrible.
I've never liked the idea of a new version of windows anyway. To me it just means more incompatibility with older software.
What wireless keyboard is it and how old is it?
@@Britec09 It's a Logitech "Logi K450" - Not that old. Sometimes it is recognised and others not. Then when typing it will go into reverse and the accompanying mouse becomes erratic. I have set Device Manager to the default and deleted USB mouse & KB for sanities sake!
Sometimes the right click context menu shows a scroll bar even though there's isn't anything to show. 🤒
Isn't windows 11 going to be another vista or 8?
I have the same feeling...
Or even worse...
Even Windows 8 is still decent compare to Windows 10 or 11...
I have heard all kinds of people having problems. Glad I decided to wait. It is a train wreck from what I have heard.
How do you make the taskbar icons small like yours?
they should've just putted the W10 20H2/21H1 start menu version in it.
It’s like they removed a lot of features that makes no sense otherwise to remove them. I’m not using Windows 11 again.
U can use ctrl + shift + esc for opening task manager.
Great video! That start menu is indeed horrible. The Windows 10 version is so much better to use or great alternatives such as StartAllBack or Start11 looks very good. Let's hope that Microsoft improves upon it in the future.
Totally agree!
I have a problem with the latest update on my capslock key light indicator which won't light up.
Now I'm getting a little tired of it
The OS has still many old UI.
my only issue I've been experiencing (did a clean install of win11 BTW) is when i hover my mouse on my task bar, even if I'm no where near the clock or anything, ill randomly see a thing pop up saying like "show desktop" or "ENG keyboard" or "audio settings" when my mouse is not even close to it. I'm pretty sure this is a visual bug but it is annoying
I like the task bar at the top of the page. I started doing this with windows 3.1 !
my main annoyance is not being able to drag things to the taskbar, having to right click and hope it has add to taskbar is less intuitive.
you can pin taskmanagher to the taskbar
Yes, but you shouldn't have to
@@Britec09 why not , every program has its ups and downs
Like with Windows 10 when it came out I didn't upgrade until the last year of Windows 7...I didn't use any of the Windows 8.0 versions
Yeah, that is a problem with added layers of security
@@Britec09 hmm maybe
Agree with you on all the changes that should be made I also found 11 is a lot picker when comes to drivers then 10 is
Good video homeslice
Appreciate it
Because of those little things, I'm not about to switch my MBR to GPT.
Open the Task Manager: ctrl+shift+esc.... close an active program: alt+F4
