This was an excellent review. I have played the Fate/Extra/Extella games so I had familiarity with the musou type combat and the longer dialogue scenes. The period is what drew me in as well as the relationship being presented between Iori and Saber; since both had different struggles and it looks as if they are compliment to each other. The fanservice of adding all of the servants and trying to figure how they fit into the timeline also seems like fun - and the combat looks right up my alley. One thing I note in your review is that you call Saber she. Up until now, the creators, website, producers have either used the name Saber only or called her they, so I was not sure if they were keeping it ambiguous or if it was a plot point - I know I am so used to the Blonde Pendragon/Nero Saber! Either way, great points and it even sounded like it could have been an 8.5 by your positivity. Either way, looking forward to it and hope everyone enjoys!
In the game, there was never any question that Saber is a she. Everyone refers to her as she and she refers to herself as a woman too. She is definitely tomboyish, but she is all woman.
why on earth is the marketting so woke and filled with gender-erasure for her then?@@dantedecastrolichi2987
The "they" is probably referring to the fact that there is more than one Saber. Artoria, Nero, etc are all absolutely women there's no doubt about that.
@@but_iWantedTo_speakGermanI wasn’t aware of the marketing. I went into reviewing this game completely blind and didn’t know anything about Fate.
@@dantedecastrolichi2987 Thanks for the response. I was looking at the marketing, videos and interviews (as well as previews from other gaming websites) that referred to her as the above so I thought it had something to do with the story or character presentation or just a different direction....Even a few reviews. Are you the one who did this review (Fingal or Ryan)? If so, fantastic job. Very detailed and informative.
Great review!
Don't ubderstand the confusion about Saber being a girl. They clearly don't hide anything in the visual novels
Yamato Takeru's gender is literally a question mark lol.
No English audio option should be listed as a good thing.
Say the same thing about Metal Gear Solid. Go on. I dare you.
It’s good to have options.
Fate might be inconsistent with the dub actors, but it's still nice to have options.
Is the soundtrack good ?
Saber is a girl I knew it
I didn’t realize this was up for debate.
@@dantedecastrolichi2987same
@@dantedecastrolichi2987 I mean considering the time period and the protagonists title of a samurai, it would make sense that Saber was a dude. Many Samurai were gay as all hell, at least for young males.
@@thelostone2008like with the ancient Greeks that's likely not true.
Art book confirms Hes a guy. Game doesn’t say
