So far I'm enjoying peacemaker it is a really good show and John Cena is perfect for this character but it might honest opinion to me the best DC show right now is Superman and Lois that show keeps getting better and better each episode is always getting better Tyler heckling an amazing Superman
Fuck that, I can't watch any superhero related media that's made by CW, only if I need a dose of cringe. Peacemaker's good tho, James Gunn is the only person, who is able to drag the DC universe back from the depths of hell. The only good decision DC has made for the last 10 years, is hiring him.

I’m a Marvel guy but this Show Peacemaker is something special and I’m really liking this one. DC you have created 💎 on this show. Peacemaker with Vigilante is hilarious.
I think the reason peace maker is succeeding is the same reason marvel succeeded. It’s because nobody knows who the character is, so it gives the director and the writers more freedom and leg room to expand the character and make small tweaks in their personality/origins to resinate with today’s audience. Rather than taking an already house hold name-comic book hero that ppl know and love, and built up their own expectations since they were kids. Example- Before 2008, who really cared or knew about Iron man, Thor, Black widow etc. ? Nobody! So when marvel was first starting the writers had free reign to make the characters how ever they wanted with little to no push back or hate from fans. Now on the other hand we all know who Superman, Batman, Flash, joker, darkseid etc. we all know who and what DC is. So when we see Superman snapping necks, and joker wearing jewelry and having tattoos we’re going to have a problem with it because it’s not the version of the character we grew up watching. -now back to my point about peace maker, nobody knows who he is so that gave James Gunn the freedoms to basically to create his own character and have fun with it. If it were a more popular character I GUARANTEE ppl would be hating on it. If it was deadshot or death stroke ppl would be like “this is stupid, death stroke doesn’t act like that”
Iron Man, Thor and Black Widow were all very popular comic book characters. I enjoy the sentiment but you named characters that almost every comic book reader cared about or at least new and at the time, comics were very popular. The only one that people didn't really know about was the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Most people have no clue who Darkside is and Thor is the most famous super hero ever. There is a day of the week named after him. Iron Man was every bit as famous as the Flash.
@@joshuaharrison1633 C Tier doesn't keep an ongoing series going for hundreds of issues. Try again. Referencing one of the mot famous stories in comics that happens to be from Iron Man's book isn't helping.
This show has proven to me that James Gunn is a master of Black Comedy. This show is DARK but there's something relatedly grounded in this universe. Like you've met people that are like some of the multi-layered characters that are in this show, both good and bad. "Peacemaker, what a joke..."
I really want james gunn to help make a worm by wildbow tv show. Another dark super hero/villain story more in line with invincible and the boys then anything else.
Vigilante is amazing. His chemistry with Harcourt is perfect. he is like that younger brother always getting into trouble and the big sister has to keep him out of trouble. Which is a line that peacemaker doesn't draw for vigilante. I would say those 2 have the best chemistry of the show. Not only should peacemaker have a season 2. But hardcore and vigilante should have a show of misadventures when peacemaker if off on missions. to run in the offseason of peacemaker. Where they can introduce new characters into the dcu. Like 1 mission could have weasel and another episode could have kingshark appearances. 🦅 could even make appearances. Maybe some 🦋
I love a lot of what this show has to offer, but I think the moment that absolutely cemented it and Cena as Peacemaker as a favorite in my book was the scene in the one of the last couple episodes where Peacemaker breathlessly, almost desperately, confesses to Harcourt "I don't want to kill people anymore." Just the way he said it, like if he didn't say it fast enough he wouldn't be able to say it at all, like it had been bottled up for so long and finally burst out in one breath, was such a beautiful moment and so painfully human.
I was dragging my feet to watch this. I didn't like peace maker in the movie and didn't care about him from the comics but when I finally forced myself to watch this because it's DC and I'm a huge DC fan and a bit of a masochist. I loved it and found myself really bummed I had to wait for more. This came out of left field but I'm totally here for it. Oh and "peace maker, what a joke"
I haven't watched any of the Arrowverse shows, but I freaking adore this show. It's absolutely hilarious, the entire cats is great, it's somehow even raunchier and more violent than The Suicide Squad, which I didn't think was possible, and holy crap, the intro is the best thing I've ever seen in any DC project. Okay, maybe not, but it's freaking amazing.
@@michaelmorningstar8645 - I'd even say that season 2 of *Arrow* is even better, or at least "just as good" ... Taking the Island flashbacks in consideration, then first 2 seasons kinda form a big "Green Arrow vs Deathstroke" arc. After watching the 4th episode of *Peacemaker* , I went back and watched all the scenes in *Arrow* with Vigilante, because he was the reason I really got into the comic book versions of Adrian & Dorian Chase... I gotta give it up to Cena as an actor because comedy is VERY difficult to pull off acting wise, yet 8/10 (changeable estimate), the man delivers. Seeing him tackle emotional moments has also been a massive surprise to me because damn, he commits to them like nobody's business. Fantastic video!
So far in this series, whenever you are going to see Peacemaker, you are going to see him in his uniform even when he doesn't need to. That's really funny when you realize that John Cenna also used that uniform in almost all the interviews for Suicide Squad when nobody else had it on.
WIth James Gunn love for mascot characters, cast of multiple characters playing role of their own protagonist. Mixing grotesque violence with heart. I just can't imagine other director to make Borderlands adaptation. I mean this game series is perfect for guy like him! as its exactly the same format
I know you posted this video before episode 4, but I really like how vigilante grows from idolizing peacemaker into his own character. Also the delivery of “I think I might have made things worse” is amazing
I have to say that I absolutely love this show! The action and comedy are fantastic! Great storyline! Cena is awesome! The one thing I wasn’t expecting and totally blew me away is the show’s soundtrack! Bands like Hanoi Rocks, Sister Sin, EnuffZ’Nuff, Lita Ford, and Firehouse just to name a few! All these kickass heavy metal bands! I don’t know who is responsible for the show’s soundtrack but they are doing an awesome job!
In the bus scene in TSS, when blood sport and rat catcher 2 talked about their dads, if you pay attention to peacemaker you can see he is reacting very subtly to the conversation and shows he has some dads issues, which are développed in the show
Your comment about a Jason Momoa cameo, is now quite funny, and prescient, huh? :) ... It was quite the cameo though! Just to pay off a joke... loved it. Overall I thought the show was just great!
The way Cena handles himself while dancing reminds me SO MUCH of Terry Cruz. Some musclebound mountain of a man, dancing with the passion of an exentric broadway actor... beautiful
Though it only got one season I feel like Swamp Thing doesn't get enough praise. It was my favorite but Peacemaker has been great and we'll most likely get more of it.

This is the best independent rundown of the Peacemaker series I've seen so far. The absence of corporate really makes a difference here. Oh dear but I have to correct you, Vee, it's not "beard-dye" - it's "dye-beard".
I like Peacemaker a lot, but I like Doom Patrol more.
Please talk about Doom Patrol, Vee.

So far I'm enjoying peacemaker it is a really good show and John Cena is perfect for this character but it might honest opinion to me the best DC show right now is Superman and Lois that show keeps getting better and better each episode is always getting better Tyler heckling an amazing Superman
Agreed
They’re both great for sure!! Never was much of a Superman fan till I watched it. I think they both take number 1 for different categories obviously.
Boths shows are amazing (Superman & Lois might be the best piece of live action that character had in decades), but the limited budget in the latter, shows.
@@sirsixty420 Superman & Lois is more of a production of HBO that happens to be co-produced by CW. The show is very different in style, tone, plot and effects from all CW show; sign of that is the fact that it is 8 episodes shorter than the average CW show.
I am a big fan of the Snyder-verse but James Gunn’s the suicide squad movie and peacemaker series is awesome and I am so excited for what James Gunn’s next dc show is gonna be
Ps: peacemaker…., what a joke

I’m a Marvel guy but this Show Peacemaker is something special and I’m really liking this one. DC you have created 💎 on this show. Peacemaker with Vigilante is hilarious.
How the hell did he get Kevin "The Legendary" Conroy and Tara "The Talented" Strong in his outro?! That's awesome! I'm subscribing.
"but we dont need to cut into a Jason Momoa cameo that adds nothing to the overall plot"
That intro sequence is amazing. Just batshit craziness and then "Written and Directed by James Gunn". Yeah, thanks I could tell.
Example-
Before 2008, who really cared or knew about Iron man, Thor, Black widow etc. ?
@@alphanerd7221 iron man has been an alcoholic c tier hero for years until the mcu idk why everyone thinks he was this popular character

This is a great video essay, dude. Glad RUclips actually came through for once.
Peacemaker rules. That intro is incredible.
Lol don’t bother with the arrowverse unless you’re like 12 years old
Intro is top notch
Look at Doom Patrol season 1 and Superman and Lois, it's pretty good.
@@John-Doe-Yo The fist season of Arrow is great, better than most of the Max shows.
@@michaelmorningstar8645 - I'd even say that season 2 of *Arrow* is even better, or at least "just as good" ... (season 5 is still my favorite, but you have to sit through the terrible season 4 to get through it, sooooo....)
*Small Spoiler Alert* I guess, just for the fir 2 seasons:

Taking the Island flashbacks in consideration, then first 2 seasons kinda form a big "Green Arrow vs Deathstroke" arc.
After watching the 4th episode of *Peacemaker* , I went back and watched all the scenes in *Arrow* with Vigilante, because he was the reason I really got into the comic book versions of Adrian & Dorian Chase...
Love *Peacemaker* , but I'm a bit scared that from now on, Vigilante will be a comic relief character instead of the Punisher-style badass he was in *Arrow* ...
Oh well, we'll see won't we?
Unpopular this is better than all of the recent marvel live action shows
its not unpopular actually lotta ppl already says it
Because Disney+ Marvel shows always look the same with the same level of writing.
Peacemaker what a joke indeed!
I'm actually in love with the show so much I got two friends to watch a couple episodes and they already want to see the rest so we're going to make it a weekly thing.
So yeah definitely follow up once it's done I'm interested to see where it goes
I gotta give it up to Cena as an actor because comedy is VERY difficult to pull off acting wise, yet 8/10 (changeable estimate), the man delivers. Seeing him tackle emotional moments has also been a massive surprise to me because damn, he commits to them like nobody's business. Fantastic video!
I was unsure when I was going to watch this, but now I definitely will soon. Even if he killed my boy Flag.
Peacemaker, what a joke.
I totally agree with everything V says. Totally brilliant show.
I love peacemaker. It was totally worth watching. Looking forward to seeing more episodes
'We don't need to cut in with a Jason Mamoa Cameo that adds nothing to the plot'-- short shelf life on that one
aged like pasteurized milk much like all of DC superhero shows

James gunn loves his hair metal
In the bus scene in TSS, when blood sport and rat catcher 2 talked about their dads, if you pay attention to peacemaker you can see he is reacting very subtly to the conversation and shows he has some dads issues, which are développed in the show
"..We don't need to cut in with a Jason Momoa cameo.." That didn't age well.
Vi, how’d you feel about it?

Overall I thought the show was just great!
This show is better than I would have thought, and yes please make more videos about it.
Good so far. Peacemaker and Superman and Lois have started a revival of good DC TV. One I haven’t seen since Arrow was on air.
It’s only 3 episodes in and it’s on par with Doom Patrol so far but I do think it’s too early to tell if it the best DC TV show but it’s definitely on its way to becoming that for sure
Only dumbed down sheeple watch Peacemaker. John Xina is a CCP shill. James Gunn likes children way too much, if you know what I mean... Jason Momoa and that weirdo Miller degraded themselves and the characters they portray by appearing on that garbage show. #RestoreTheSnyderVerse #BoycottWB
Titans and peacemaker are my favorite live action dc shows
This new era of live action DC shows and movies are really great rn
Love this Review Vee I enjoyed the first three episodes and as older WWE fan I enjoy seeing Cena act a fool in the best way!
my favorite line was when Adebayo was arguing with Harcourt while Peacemaker was running from the cops - “being a wheel man is *also* dope! I got you!”
I am infinitely glad that DC is FINALLY making something fun.
Lol. DC is about maturity and depth.
Not stupid fun and dick jokes.
That's how marvel gets by.
@@dcmastermindfirst9418 yes, " maturity and depth" of heavy handed Jesus symbolism which doesn't go into something actual deep and Superman's dad being total ass who kills himself for stupid reasons. The Suicide Squad is more mature by displaying how American agency willing to work in inhuman experiments and proping up regimes for facilitating own interested, a thought Snyder surely avoided in Man Of Steel, and idea of worth of frown upon. The Peacemaker is more mature having by having MC face his own upbringing and if he has actual worth as a person.
Well, *Doom Patrol* is super fun, and it's a great show... *Legends of Tomorrow* also had some of the best seasons in the entire _Arrowverse_ , with s2 & s3. And it's also a "fun" show.
@@dcmastermindfirst9418 There's a lot of maturity and depth in Peacemaker, certainly way more than whatever the Synder trilogy was supposed to be. The difference here is there's serious mature themes alongside actual humor and characters that have real personalities.
Going "there's stupid fun and dick jokes therefore it sucks" is also nowhere near mature.

Fun (kinda) fact. If anyone remembers that John Cena movie from a long time ago "The Marine" then you'll know that this isn't the first time Peacemaker and his father's actors have worked together.
The cameos at the end of the final episode was nice. Great video!

"Why Peacemaker is the best DC show" well, to befair, it didnt exactly have much competition
You have been having a lot of hot takes about Spider-Man no way home and Halloween kills but You are right about peacemaker
Your outro is perfect, I love it
One thing I find hilarious and I never see anyone talking about is that Robert Patrick played John Cena’s first ever villain in his film The Marine, and now he’s playing his dad and most likely his first supervillain opposite in this show. That casting can’t possibly have been coincidental.
This aged like the finest of wine. Season 1 absolutely banged

Great review of the show this far. I wasn't even going to give it a chance because I figured it would be just another bland superhero show like falcon and the winter soldier.
It's not that at all as you've pointed out. It's sucked me in and I'm excited for more episodes.
What was bland about falcon and the winter solider exactly ?
@@tehronmoment1367 To each is own but nothing stood out to me about it. It's just a very safe generic super hero show imo. It's not bad or anything. It's made well. Just, I don't know, not for me I guess.
I enjoyed most of the other Marvel shows, especially Loki.
@@tehronmoment1367 yeah I felt the same way this guy did. Wanda vision managed to stand out to me with an inventive concept etc, and Loki took some creative risks as well even if it wasn’t perfectly well received or executed and I can respect that. But Falcon&WS and Hawkeyes show were a lot safer. Not the end of the world lol just nothing special to warrant much long term hype. Peacemaker, like Wandavision has at least a slightly different tone etc to go alongside its adequate writing. Again, this is just my opinion and my opinions are rarely correct or good lol so feel feel to disagree and I won’t assume ur wrong.
@@CoryyJ what about who race and propaganda plays apart in being a superhero as well as the fact that being a famous super doesn't come with the benefits that you think it does ? Or how much of a responsibility being captain America is especially as a black man that was all just regular superhero stuff to you ?
@@tehronmoment1367 just because you put social and political commentary into bland content, doesn't make it less bland. It just makes it devisive. Plot is several rungs uninventive compared to Wandavision or Loki and is fairly below average for what could have a political action thriller. Instead of a careful buildup of to a climax in the vein of, say, The Mandalorian, everything just conveniently comes together story-wise in the last episode.
Instead, we have way too many domestic drama sequences which add very little to the plot or character development and only derails any show momentum. Falcon's pontification in the final episode was also extremely heavy-handed. People stopping their fight scene because someone of "plot importance" dies is totally BS, btw. FATWS could have been interesting but it just settles for meh.
The great thing about Peacemaker is how they're exploring his regrets and him realising he's not the man his father tried to make him.
