Thank you all for this memories, simply magnificent. I have tears in my eyes because I can't go back in 88's, this period of my life is finish, sadly 😔. Synthwave all the time, forever. Never forget.
I know this is recent but this takes me back to 1986, Chicago I was 15 and reminds me of my first girlfriend. I don't know about anywhere else back in the day. This style of music wasn't mainstream, you didn't find it outside a few major cities. This vibe really captures the mid 80's. Take it from an 80's kid who lived through John Hughes films (yes it was really like that in Chicago's North Shore), House Music, Italo Disco, Wax Trax, New Wave, European dance music of the day....
This song makes the world stop for me, especially driving on a lonely road! It helps me feel like everything's gonna be alright. I really am glad this song was made! Thank you Jessie! ❤️
This likely won't make sense, but there's a degree of innocence and vulnerability in the lyrics. A feeling of loss, that we don't really see in the modern day with dating being a revolving door. The 80s musical arrangement adds to this effect. This is 80s Pop both in the sound but also the innocence and vulnerability (feeling communicated in the lyrics) rather than the Ego found in modern music. The innocence of having loved and lost for the first time. This is the best non-80s, 80s song.
I'd say you are totally right about the vulnerability in the vocals and lyrics. "I want you" is coming more from a place of sadness because he didn't' want me. And now the heartache he caused me pays my bills! :) :) I write about my life experiences and it is important to me that my music can be a safe place and soundtrack for listeners to connect. Much love. -JFRYE
Love all these kids talking about synthwave like it's something new when it was a huge part of our childhood growing up in the 80s. 80s-90s were last time top 40 music was really widely varied by style & genre. In a modern industry where genres have blended so much that it all sounds exactly the same, with exception of rock, it's awesome to see younger generations delving back into stuff with actual melody & structure not just anxiety inducing bass beats & random clicks & sound samples. Warms the heart of this jaded Gen Xer.
I was just a little toddler kid in the late 80s-early 90s, but I remember the smell of Aquanet hairspray, the bright pink lipsticks my cousins wore, the pink and teal neon lights at the local video store, the retro aesthetic at Taco Bell and McDonald’s...😭 It seemed like it was all a dream. All I got as a teen was a post-9/11 world and a Great Recession. Not fair. 😭😭💔
I mainly listen to Metal music. I have to say this Lady has a wonderful voice..very Angelic and the music is really good. I'll be sure to check out more

What a beautiful song! Really love the 80s vibe which also slightly touches cyberpunk - nice touch with the colored jacket! Makes you sad and nostalgic, but in a good way. I don't know why, but a story pops into my head when I listen to the song: Your soulmate calls out to you across time. You were born in different times. As you listen to the song, your heart aches for a time there never was - a time where you actually belong and where someone is waiting for you ... Probably because of the lyrics, the 80s vibe and "Timecop" in the title 😁
2010s will one day be old school music and atleast that decade had its own era and charms unlike the 20s being just call backs. But I actually don't mind that music I'm just pointing out atleast the 10s was its own which will be retro itself one day.

Now you're just a faded memory Now you're just a faded memory Now you're just a faded memory The fact Jessie sings this line 3 times isn't lazy songwriting. Once it's meaningless, twice it hurts, three times really hammers the point home.
Also she nailed the subtle change in how she sang it the 3rd time. Jessie packs sooooooooo much into each lyric of this performance, she is a true artist through & through.

:) :)
New retro wave brought me here, and I've watched all your previous videos. While all are good, I think you have found your sound right here.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate that
Your destination is a synthwave, Jessie. Great job with TimeCop1983!
thank you SO MUCH! more to come
I agree! This song brings out the best of what 80's music gave us! Great job!
thank you so much
So underrated. Mainstream media is missing a new generation of innovation. 💯💥❤
I fear though if this genre was to go mainstream then the magic of this genre would die.
XO
I know this is recent but this takes me back to 1986, Chicago I was 15 and reminds me of my first girlfriend. I don't know about anywhere else back in the day. This style of music wasn't mainstream, you didn't find it outside a few major cities. This vibe really captures the mid 80's. Take it from an 80's kid who lived through John Hughes films (yes it was really like that in Chicago's North Shore), House Music, Italo Disco, Wax Trax, New Wave, European dance music of the day....
I grew up in the NorthShore my whole life and still live in Glenview this reminds me of heartthrobs aka freestyle
Baddass song❤
thanks :) :)
This song makes the world stop for me, especially driving on a lonely road! It helps me feel like everything's gonna be alright. I really am glad this song was made! Thank you Jessie! ❤️
aww yay!!! :) :)

New Retro Wave brought me here and I don't regret at all ;)
that is so cool! thank you :)
Same here
Same here, and it's a great song added to my retro playlist :)
I write about my life experiences and it is important to me that my music can be a safe place and soundtrack for listeners to connect. Much love.
Still one of my favorite retro tracks in 2021, she killed it.
beautiful girl with stunning voice + cool guy with synth = ♥
Thank you so much :)
Not fair. 😭😭💔
yes yellow and brown packaging and then the crescent moon character aka Mac Tonight!
I just found this song last week and i can't stop listening to it, it feel like my spirit has left my body and transport me to a other world.
Wow! Thank you so much! Glad you found it.
I mainly listen to Metal music. I have to say this Lady has a wonderful voice..very Angelic and the music is really good. I'll be sure to check out more
'I want you' to succeed and have an amazing singing career Jessie. You deserve it! Hope you're keeping safe.

I'm a huge metalhead but damn.. This song is like a time machine...I wish all the best for you guys.. Please succeed and don't you ever change.. Simply Amazing 🙏 Make the music world great again..
I love metal too...thanks so much for the support!!
This makes me yearn for a decade that I wasn't born in. Something only an amazing artist can do.
Thank you!
That's called anamoia.
@@mrmattycake I never knew there was a term for it. Thank you.
Beautiful voice and wonderful song.
Thanks for helping to keep the 80s alive! ❤️
Rufio Quin thank you!!
@@jessiefryeofficial love back then
What a beautiful song!
One of the best songs I’ve heard in a long time. Gives me this sensation I call “The 90s feeling”
I love how today's musicians are picking up old school style of music, that was real music back then.
ENDITA KAMWENESHE 💜
I agree
2010s will one day be old school music and atleast that decade had its own era and charms unlike the 20s being just call backs.
But I actually don't mind that music I'm just pointing out atleast the 10s was its own which will be retro itself one day.
Congrat for the millions Jessie and Timecop 1983! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳👏👏👏👏
theend62120 thank you!
Forever a CLASSIC Song
Thank you my friend, xo
THE 80s WILL NEVER DIE!!!

So glad this kind of music is coming back. I was born in 1983 and this sound brings back so many great memories ♥️
Now you're just a faded memory
Now you're just a faded memory
Now you're just a faded memory
The fact Jessie sings this line 3 times isn't lazy songwriting.
Once it's meaningless, twice it hurts, three times really hammers the point home.
:)
Also she nailed the subtle change in how she sang it the 3rd time. Jessie packs sooooooooo much into each lyric of this performance, she is a true artist through & through.
