I practice zazen and I´m a yoga teacher. I believe that doesn´t matter what kind of meditation tecnique or discipline you choose, or what kind of discipline choosed you. Hold it and practice every day. Every school of thought, every "spiritual" path has something to teach us. I´m learning a lot right now thanks to you and Master Gu. This channel is amazing.
I have sence age 6 fell in love with martial arts started with Taekwondo 9 yrs into that my training the family relocated. I then found small class in Tai Chi wich is big leap from were i started and struggled but did learn to calm down and focus enough to learn to meditate. Flash forward joined army got married had kids and at 38 was deployed, now with ptsd and type 2 bi-polar i...well lets say i lost focus 15 yrs later im slowly regaining it then i tripped across one of your video's sence then i repeatedly watch them and it has help a great deal. Just wanted to say thanks! Your doin something awsome.
Robert Gardner mate ; I hear your story .. I understand and empathise , but life’s not over yet ; you’re here . I hope that you are able to surf 🏄🏽♂️ when all this cv19 is over , I know it’ll be another piece to your peace 🙏🏼 there is a book called “well done those men” Barry Heard .. I think you’ll enjoy reading 🇦🇺
I discovered dao in 2010. It changed my life and found myself in the books as i read them. Its always been us and will always be us. Ive lost more connection even after due to the worldly trials. I return because i have lost more focus than ever before. I must start practicing and return to the way.
I like when you said, " The more we live in the present the less we engaged in destructive thoughts about the past or the future." That struck me as an obvious statement that I never stopped to realize and that alone has that message in it. 🤯
Thank you George and Master Gu. I have only just started my journey in Taoism. But it has helped me clear my mind I know it will be difficult for me to stay in the present and trust the tao. But I already feel better than I had been feeling. I have always engaged in a lot of down talk and bad or harmful inner monologue. Having only recently just found Taoism I already feel better after applying some of the basic principles. So thank you both I love the videos
That's the key to unlock unlimited potential. It took me a lifetime to get it but now, I finally fully understand it. I'm 53 years old. I do Vipassana meditation whenever I feel the need but if the monkey mind goes crazy, I chant mantras. When I was younger I learned Taijichuan in Japan which really helped me a lot in staying focussed. I would do it now too but I'm dealing with a serious health condition which has disabled me. I'm healing myself , there is a documentary called Heal which presents people who miraculously heal themselves from incurable diseases, even stage 4 cancer. We are made of energy (Qi) thus by thinking , we not only miss the joy of the present moment but we loose our energy. It's like pumping air into a tyre which has a huge hole, the hole is caused by your thoughts. Great job, George! 🤗😘😁
I like my home. I have a chair that is made from bamboo with old fashioned pillows with brown and orange flowers on it. The chair has a vibe, you see it and think that the chair couldnt possibly be comfortable. But then i sit down in it, cross my legs, grab a book and hours can fly by. The chair fascinates me. Its made with such care and knowledge about wood, fabric and comfort, it is truely amazing. Im telling you this because it is not always possible to go outside, and it can be very nice to just stay at home and enjoy the comfort of the place you have put a lot of work in to make it that comfortable. Remember all the painting youve done? All that hard work, and now look at it. Its a masterpiece, go enjoy it, look at your house as art, because it is not just a concrete or wood box thst you live in, your house changes like nature does, the light is different in the morning and night, looknat your plants or pets. It is so nice. Appreciate that sometimes, to find peace in your home like you would find it in nature.
This is great stuff. I started studying Tai Chi about 2 months ago and I've noticed that after my lessons I smell things, hear things, enjoy things I hadn't even noticed on the way in. A positive mood carries through my whole day and makes all of my interactions better. Thanks for sharing these great videos. Master Gu's wisdom and your insights are the most perfect supplement I could ask for.
today i tried meditation for the first time, what i did was wish happiness to everyone dear to me: i pictured every person in my mind one by one, including myself. tomorrow i'd like to try listening to the sounds of nature
It is a great pity they don't have programmes like this on television. Would help a lot of people out there. You make a great presenter, by the way, George.
Every once in a while, I will feel unsettled in a particular way. When this happens I turn to these videos. And as I go down through tea time taoism it always hits the spot. Somehow it is exactly what I need in that moment. I just wanted you to know that these videos help me so so much. Your work is not unnoticed. Thank you.
I just finished reading Tao Te Ching. My interest in Taoism began about a month ago and I'm hoping it'll help me get through my S.A.D and learn to let go, of anger, control, negative thoughts, etc = ]
You guys I found daoism after a Google search on an acid trip that I had. And what I realised that day is everything that's being said rn. Crazy. I even told my mom the next day that my anxiety was cured bc we are all the same connected light (which is what I saw). Its exactly this. And I got to understand and believe a bit of it easily all at once. Yay 🙃
Hi Just subscribed to your channel. Enjoyed your video very much. Briefly, in my 59yrs have experienced, abuse, success, addiction devastation, without being too specific, I have been healing my body for 3yrs, via fasting and diet, but the mind i am finding more difficult. Having had Therapy, read lots of books, listened to various online guru's, and attempting to meditate, there is still an internal war raging over my past life between good Gary, and Evil Gary. The ways of the Tao have such an appeal, and having experienced recently the euphoria of presence, have been desperately trying to get back to that state of being. I am grateful, and do realise that I have created this reality by my own actions, but living from hand to mouth on a daily basis in today's world, has so much anxiety attached to it, and I fear the future.
I love your videos George & will share them for sure! I truly appreciate the time, energy and care you've placed into your videos....very inspiring. As for your question at the end, I practice mindfulness meditation froBuddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hanh. The principles of his Plum Village tradition are very similar to what you're outlining here & that is why I am so attracted to his teachings...and Taoism. I practice sitting, walking meditation as well as Qigong. I feel that I'm finally letting go of negative behavior patterns through the kind & gentle practices of Taoism & Plum Village's Buddhist tradition. It's wonderful to live in the present moment. Thank you & I hope to meet you someday in person to share a cup of tea or a walk in mindfulness. All blessings, Stu
This video was posted over 2 years ago, but I was searching for something to help me through the anxiety I'm experiencing due to the outbreak of the corona virus, and this video was very helpful. I very much like the approach of Taoism.
Thank you. I used to be able to maintain serenity and my practice. Then I had children and the stress of parenting, work, money, and maintaining life got to me. I have been trying to reestablish my practice but stumble into anxiety and panic regularly. My body is stressed and my brain is stressed and I know better but can't seem to *DO* better.
Where am I on my mindfulness journey? I’m looking forward to a delicious breakfast and then I will go play with my dog in the creek. I met my Teacher at age 7, after 42 years living the Dao I’m starting to understand. Thank you teacher, sleep well. Much love for everyone, take care.
I find you to be wise beyond your years. Thank you so much and I hope you gain a lot of interest from young people. You know what? That was a dumb thing to say. I’m old and I needed to hear it as well, so I’m thinking old folks need to listen too!🙏
I remember your walk to Master Gu, the anxiety, questioning, the beginning & here i am listening to you @George. Just watched a few video's & wrote down points made. When i first encountered this channel i was caring for both of my elderly Parents, walking with them through cancer & dementia, treatment & transitioning. Previously i studied Meditation, all that went away or so it seemed, when i was walking my parents home however i remembered the beginning of the journey of George & Master Gu. Here i am now, listening again, full of panic attacks, well i shield myself by not interacting in the world, not engaging with others but safe with Nature & Animals. As much as that gives me a false sense of "i am okay", the underminer is following close behind me so i am seeing someone to help me overcome "Laughing @ My-self", ... After all that is now passed & the perceived future full of fears, the present moment is a very good beginning for me. Thank You George, Thanks To Master Gu, will connect again. LDBEME
Sometimes I need a healthy reminder to come back to the present. I loved the reminder of nature. The trees do not ask when it is time for their leaves to fall. They go along with nature. This is a beautiful reminder to flow and be present. Thank you.
it is so true' when achiveve presence of mind? its when the presents appear' its a work in progress when your inner dialogue is shouting noise all day' but loved the visuals and description using the balance of water? tips the scales and causes rocky/rough seas in the mind' calm waters? calm mind' music helps manage my mind much better to slow my racing thoughts and allow peace/clarity of thought and messages to come through

In my family, I'm not only the eldest, but also considered by my brother and sisters the most calm minded. I simply accept a situation, and know nothing can be done about it. Just accept things the way they are.
Wow! You are so lucky to get this information when you are so young. I think you will have a powerful, intentional life. Do good with it. Thank you for th evideo
i appreciate these teachings, i am trying to learn "the way" of taoism. i recently was exposed to this information through a friend because i told them that i was drawn to learning and practicing meditation and yoga for some odd reason. my friend said it was the universe telling me something. thought it was creepy til i understood my purpose for being in this world and it just makes sense now. again, i appreciate this, took a whole lot of notes and i will soon be doing your course! i cant wait!
I just started an hour a day of Vipassana meditation this month and incorporating some kriya yoga breaths but now feeling called to Taoist meditation I like the flow
I have done meditation, I believe the true meditation is beyond description since it is the trying whilst not trying to balance in between the space of conscious and unconscious. The mind must be empty, not crowded with mantras and breath obsession. In that divine space an array of amazing phenomenon present themselves, especially in the beginning. I will not list them so as to avoid other would be practitioners to expect them and in so doing, fail to meditate. However, though I practiced daily for up to an hour and a half, I never got beyond chasing those delicious events. Events which shrink from the desire for them, like a beautiful flower that instantly withers under gaze. But my neck complaint cleared right up!
Anxieties, depression or whatever labels we use are more often true desires connected to a spiritual longing carried inside every human being on deeper dimensions of who we actually are.
You reminded me of a book written by Eckart Tolle called "The Power of Now". It's all about being present in the present moment, a good read if you have time. 👍😉😊
As a child, I asked and answered a lot of my own questions. Sorting out loud my thoughts helped rationalize. Much later, I had a liver transplant almost 3 years ago. 9 years ago I had gotten diagnosed with what I felt wrong in my body from my teens onwards. I had an answer and more questions which brought me to becoming mindful in the present because I knew a big medical event would happen eventually. It was a very gradual process to here. This video made me more aware of what I do. Thank you for time in making this.
Love this video! Great questions at the end. I love meditating and do it everyday. The way I do it has changed over time and is a thing unto itself. I am mindful to let meditation follow its course and not fit into a preconceived box, which limits it. Living in the moment is a skill that has ebbed and flowed for me depending on how much attention I give to the idea. Today, it is center most in my mind. Thank you, Tang Ning Zixu!
Hi George! I'm studyng meditation since I was 16, so 5 years from now, and It has been an incredible instrument for my self development and growt. Sometime I still lose my focus, allowing my shadow to take control for a little slice of time. But then, when I decide to reconnect to the present moment I feel an infinite stream of energy entering my body, I feel Alive and extremely well. So If someone is going to read this comment, I hope that you will allways remember that the energy inside of you is immense, and when you are ready, and you feel ready, this energy, is going to fight algonside you, protecting you, and your loved ones from fear, negative thoughts and illusions.
Regarding your question: Mindfulness is an aspiration I have been struggling with for more than 25 years. Buddhist meditation (zazen) is something I hold in highest regard, but fail to do on a regular basis. Not just the empty mind of zazen is something I find hard to attain, just plain mindfulness in simple tasks like washing the dishes used to elude me. But two years ago I started doing Taijiquan. During practice and in zhan zhuang I find it much easier to focus only on the present moment. I am far from being absolutely focussed on each single moment during practice ... but with an actual task at hand like taijiquan I feel progress and I manage to practice on a daily basis. I am very much looking forward to trying your (or Master Gu's) guided meditation, which is being downloaded right now.
Fantastic stuff. Thank you so much. Sharing with my daughter, who suffers from being a teenager. Hoping like anything she’ll like it half as much as her dear old dad!!
I can’t believe I hadn’t seen your channel until now!! Ooh oops am I not living the moment?! Haha.. thank you! I am happy to find you now! Very similar to Zen Buddhist philosophy... joking aside, I have been practicing Zen Meditation with the Kwan Um School since 2001 and feel like it’s wonderful to share the Dharma! Sooo thank youuu again!!
Thank you so much for sharing Master Gu' and your time and understanding. Tao has always resonated with my heart/mind, living simply, leaping joyfully and remaining as calm as possible in whatever Tao brings to.. it is very much appreciated and I must admit I am just a touch green about you being in the Wudang mountains and having such a wonderful time sharing all of it. Very well done sir..
Hello,I just came across your channel.Very inspiring .I just started meditating ,maybe a few days now.I have tried mindful meditation throughout the day ...my thoughts get off topic alot.I am now listening to Buddhist chants..I can only stay focused on listening for 5 min max.I heard it is best to build the time slowly ..by constant habit and the time will increase.🧘
I love the simplicity of this approach and it fits so well too with Buddhist thinking. It makes sense at so many levels. I practise meditation myself and have done so for years but am relatively new to studying the Dao. These practices make so much more sense than the Christian teachings I was brought up with which were at times nonsensical yet depended on unquestioning belief. You are indeed fortunate to have found such a cool and cheerful teacher. :)
this chanel is a gem! thanks for all this videos :) regarding the question last year I was meditating in the morning 10 minutes every day... last week I started waking up before 7AM so that I work on my projects before I work on my company, but because I have so much more time I meditate 20 minutes a day in the morning... the aim is to wake every day at 5AM.. eventually xD
good one George, I appreciate you & Master Gu and these Vids thank you .. A: I started TM Meditation but this has also expanded to walking meditations and also Breath Meditations .Love your Chanel George
To know thyself is paramount, cause without a ferm base, intelect will cut You and others. It's better to meditate, than to think...thinking is over rated in the west,it shows...Love & respect from Slovenija.
Thanks George, I loved your video and really you have chosen to follow your heart and go on adventure, hope you had a amazing experience, I like the way you are enthusiastic about mindfulness practice. From my own experience of starting to meditate since 2 months, I see a lot of difference, even though I had come across Taoism 3 years back and even bought tao de ching book, i had not tried meditation. But as they say everything has a time and now I really feel the difference meditation and mindfulness practices can make. Thanks a lot again for your video.
I love this and this topic specifically is one of the things that brought me into Taoism. So many people live not in the present or the past, but the in the future always wondering "What's next". I feel you miss out so much when you can't just enjoy today for today and let tomorrow bring what it will. Like when you said you got anxious after completing university, worrying about the next thing to invest your time in left uneasiness in your heart, and that I feel is very common for at least younger people like us. But my Taoist teachings have helped me stay productive while helping me realize that there will be days where you work, days that you learn and days that you rest. Finding a balance in all these times is something I hope to achieve as I continue in life.
Thank you, George. These videos are greatly helpful in my daily mindfulness practice. I started meditating years ago, but did not stick with it. At this moment, I am in a place in my life where I am returning (or arriving) to complete what I began. You & Master Gu have been extremely beneficial to me, and I greatly appreciate your energy! All the best in everything you do.
Striving to enjoy every day is certainly something I am doing. Luckily I have always been an all-around happy person! But even I have some days, ha! Thank you George and Master Gu for the wisdom. I am still applying the trick where if my mind is racing I take notice of my breath, this really makes you calm fast!
George, i would know how to think you for your videos and your channel. I really want to keep learning about Taoism and your videos are really helpful in tha mission. Of course its just a starting point, but in my opinion, a very good one!! So thank you so much for it!

It is Just a great way of thinking, a great philosophy of life. Con gratulations. Keep doing these videos..
George, these videos are helping me so much! I’m reading more about Taoism and changing things in my life. Thank you and Master Gu very much.
I needed to hear this. Thank you George!
The love and joy you talk about reflects in your voice and facial expressions. Thank you for sharing your experiences and knowledge!
you've grown since your early days in China. good on you!
love is flowing out of this stream ... thank you.
You always manage to hit the nail on the head. Such an amazing channel, peace my friend.
Awesome video, in very need of menthal peace. Please more.
Thank you so much for sharing this.🙏
Regarding your question: Mindfulness is an aspiration I have been struggling with for more than 25 years.
I really enjoyed this video and learned a lot. Thank you. You are very inspiring.
I love watching your video, it brings me peace and happiness. Thank you for all your hard work and sharing with the world.
Excellent video, thanks for posting this.
Thank you for sharing, your videos are a great help.
I love this master!
Thanks for this video! You did a really great job!
this chanel is a gem! thanks for all this videos :)
regarding the question last year I was meditating in the morning 10 minutes every day... last week I started waking up before 7AM so that I work on my projects before I work on my company, but because I have so much more time I meditate 20 minutes a day in the morning... the aim is to wake every day at 5AM.. eventually xD
I've been meditating consistently for the past few months. Doing meditations from the Kundalini yoga lineage
How has that affected you?
good one George, I appreciate you & Master Gu and these Vids thank you .. A: I started TM Meditation but this has also expanded to walking meditations and also Breath Meditations .Love your Chanel George
Love love love this! Please share as much as you can. You have done a great job of spreading the teachings

🙏🙏🙏
This is the second time that I am meeting myself for the first time yes man absolutely
Thank you so much George. Thank you master Gu. Keep up this good work.
Thank you for this one, I'm working on this in my mind.
Absolutely fantastic!
Looking forward to next weeks video. I am interested in Master Gus explanation on how Daoists meditate, I may have to try it.
Keep it Going!
I am so glad I found your channel. Thank you George!
Matthew 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will Worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
So glad I found this channel. I’m learning so much. Thank you
Thank you so much for sharing this journey!! I'm learning so much from you and Master Gu in sharing
I can tell you that I enjoy the way I’ve seen you blossom in China, like a lotus from the mud! 😊 great work!
George , I love watching and listening to you and Master Gu so much...Thank you for sharing 💓🌸🌸🌸
Master Gu is heart warming.
Striving to enjoy every day is certainly something I am doing. Luckily I have always been an all-around happy person! But even I have some days, ha! Thank you George and Master Gu for the wisdom. I am still applying the trick where if my mind is racing I take notice of my breath, this really makes you calm fast!
This is everything day. Lemon pepper was a row of cut salad dressing and wormed olives. Odenton. Sift plasma
George, i would know how to think you for your videos and your channel. I really want to keep learning about Taoism and your videos are really helpful in tha mission. Of course its just a starting point, but in my opinion, a very good one!! So thank you so much for it!
Be like water, my friend. Got it. Bear in mind that water goes up and down. Consider rain. It is water.
These have actually helped a lot in this stage of my life. I think it's going to help my friend too
