I've seen Deshaun Stevenson, Arron Afflalo, Cravens, Cedric Bozeman, James Harden, Tyson Chandler, Dwayne Poolee, Marquis Katly, Westcherster in 02 with 8 D1, Ashanti Cook, Hasaan Adamd, T. Ariza, B. Heath and many others at the state championships over the years and this was the best athlete to ever show up. Don't mistake that for best basketball player. WHERE ARE YOU NOW?

I played against a couple of those guys and seen all those you listed...you must be similar in age to me..& seems like you know your CA hoops (Deshawn at state champ was just silly redic special tho man..theres a reason Roy Williams called him his most gifted recruit ever to kansas after witnessing what I witnessed vs El Ceritto & Drew Gooden's squad)...but cmon...I mean dude yeah maybe had one of the best verticals in CA recent memory but that doesn't make you an NBA player (like those names u threw out) or even a great Bball player. What I remember from seeing Mr. Powel was very good but was not really a scorer at mac and was like 3rd option on his own (state champ) Mac team behind Will Cherry and their big dude center (Frank Otis? I think was his name). But yeah freakish athlete and dunker in the mold kind of like San Mateo high's Cardell Butler (Utah St & And1 tours ballaholic). Still yeah Idk what happened dude should have been able to play somewhere at least lower D1 like a SJSU or Montana like cherry but honestly...would he fit a position? He just jumped outta gyms literally from what I remember but wasn't really an all around great hooper. Not sure what happened at Los Mendosenos...think he coulda at least played at a SJSU LBSU UC Davis etc etc Schools like that at least but all those players you named were better all around hoopers tho. Jameel Pugh grant hs is another name since it seems like u from sac that jumped out gyms but he aint never really make it very big in CBB really. I used to guard heath in AAU ball & played most those chester cats....they for sure were a talented & deep group. Marquis too...he was nice. Bball is a hard sport to make it in man. 4 real.
I've seen Powell hooped at our local 24 hour fitness at high street a few times but this was like 2 years ago though. My first impression of him when I went back to my high school Otech to watch our team duke it out with other squads and he was an incredible leaper no doubt, but later on the next season I also realize what you said was true; that he really isn't a great scorer or a go to player. I also wonder how he's doing now since the last times I've seen him at 24.
De La Salle plays good ball, but there are more exciting teams to watch. Comcast did cover the San Leandro - Castro Valley game, that was a good game. Jarred Cunningham always get his highlight dunks. Check out m videos for some dunks!
