I was taught this 2 years ago and for about, this week we doing the spider guard cam home and looked how to escape and sue enough this came up , I definitely won't for get it thanks!
My favourite way to deal with spider guard at the monent is trying to bust one foot off my bicept by knocking against my knee and then trying to enter into over/under. Bernardo Faria teaches this method in his over/under system Instructional
2 observations to share: 1. Tinoco seems to be a great BJJ teacher, which is not always the case for all world class BJJ athletes; 2. His English accent is very similar to that of Xande R and I suspect they were from the same part of the Brazil originally.
BIG OSS thank for the video! I don't have a great system for passing spider, but I try to circle my hands in the inside pretty early. But the good spider guards, I can't do this. I'm excited to try this system of backing away and keeping my arms straight, not bent. I think I tend to push in forward to try to put pressure on them, but backing out makes more sense. Thank you!
This is the first spider pass video that has actually clicked and made sense for me. Will be trying it next time I get caught!
