Thank You Sir. Well done. Consuming lots of info about geology lately.
Central Washington University Geology lectures with Nick Z have been very informative.
I’m up to my eyeballs in erratics and exotic terranes here in the Puget Sound area.
Kitsap earthquake swarms have been too quiet for my liking.
Clockwise rotation in this area is fascinating. Plates and faults my my. Thanks again.

I’m in the vicinity of the largest geothermal region on earth...the Geysers. I Have never found gold, but I’ve got a beautiful creek in my back yard. We have the most beautiful rocks, pebbles and sands, with a few large chunks of obsidian in the area....don’t walk barefoot in the creek! The huge amount of quartz of all varieties is everywhere, and actually is the majority of The creek ...and sometimes even the serpentine bedrock has veins of quartz running thru it. We have multiple daily quakes, thanks to the multiplex of Calpine injection sites within a mile or two as the birds fly. You can hear the quakes coming via the canyon walls....that warning is usually 3 to 5 seconds. It beats the shake alert apps that go off after the quake!

On the geological faults subject, recently I went camping to the Mohave desert next to San Andreas fault. I took some dirt samples from a dry creek and when I got home found minerals galore! Just no gold. I plan to go back and spend more time gathering multiple samples.

Man I'd love to look at some maps and pick your brain lol. I'll be doing some prospecting around a fault line in 2 weeks...a lot of areas right on the fault line with no claims. Can't wait.

Very interesting thanks for sharing .
Can agate beds point out your close to a hot spring fault or vein in the area?
Or are agate beds hot fluids at surface level flowing away from a hot spring?
I'm having trouble with my thinking on how fine crystal agate (glass Like) relates to course crystal quartz (with points).
Am I understanding correctly its a heat related crystal growth?
Or is it a fluid soup thing that makes them different,?
Has gold Been found located close to any agate beds?
I suspect (not) due to temprature,
    Am I correct?

    Hi Jess
Ive developed an interest in mining of late. So I found a deposit near my homestead. It started with a thin strip which had a good deposit but it was too thin sore the ore yeild will be low.
I kept going down hoping the ore seam would widen. It did when I got to the hardest rock but the sample dropped. Like there was never gold at all.
When I started the color of the rock was greyish but now it's turning white to glassy like quartz. Is this the end of the deposit or I should keep going down.
I'm a layman so plane jargon will be greatly appreciated. I'm minnh south of sahara. And there is a serious water gush

Quartz stringers play out (and can start to have gold again under the right conditions)
