    It's nice to hear someone talk who is actually informed and understands the issues from top to bottom. He does his homework. He doesn't play on your prejudices or your stoke your fears, he gives you the truth. I don't think even Biden is as well informed as he is.

    • @garufia
      @garufia Год назад +1

      Biden does have a mind that works still though. So at this point his mind is what really matters. Now, that could change eventually because of his age. Christie points out the other side or more conservative view, but is not nasty about it, nor silly and definitely more honest. But I will give you that, Christie does not have a dull brain. He is sharp and more well grounded.

But as a Republican, there's no way he can get past the MAGA bloc-- at least the completely indoctrinated ones. I'm as left as they come and I'm open to his criticisms about Obama and Biden-- even if I don't agree with them. If you actually listen to Obama's rhetoric about unity, it's straight out of Reagan. But so what-- Christie thinks "libs" have divided us as much as Trump? Fine. At least he has the balls to be honest about Trump. I wish Christie had a better record when he actually was in power in New Jersey, my home state. But back then, he showed some ugly sides to his character-- taking things personally, vindictiveness, demonizing teachers. I don't think he's some saint. But I am rooting for him to do what he's doing, which is the most honest he's ever sounded in his political career.

      Chris Christie for their key roles in the “Bridgegate” scandal. The scandal involved shutting down commuter lanes at the George Washington Bridge in order to punish the city of Fort Lee's mayor for refusing to back Christie's 2013 reelection effort. May 7th 2020.

  • @tomservo75
    @tomservo75 Год назад

    Here's my take from a former New Jersey resident who voted for Christie twice. He was the first Republican I ever voted for after being a lifelong Democrat, because I just hated the incumbent so much. We had great hopes for someone who was finally going to lower our taxes, stand up to the big government and teachers unions. He was one of my first choices in 2016 and probably could have won the nomination in 2012. After watching part of this I really am tempted to support him as my first choice. But after he took office he talked a good game (there are probably priceless videos still on the Internet of him taking it to teacher unions in town halls). I liked him and voted for him again in 2013. But New Jersey is just as much of a sh!thole after as before he took office.
    I voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020. This was an excellent speech from someone who is an underrated orator. And Christie's criticisms of Trump are pretty fair for the most part. But my question is, could he do any better. Based on my experience with him as my governor, I'm not confident of that
    And he is the only GOP candidate who supports FBI Director Christopher Wray who anyone else would fire on Day 1. Let that sink in. Christie is part of the swamp.
