- The 1st 24 hours after having my Oxford AstraZeneca covid vaccine. How am I feeling? What effects am I experiencing?

Had the jab friday afternoon. Arm started aching that night. Lunch time today I'm all good. My heart goes out to everyone who feels bad. X

I had the same jab as you on Wednesday Pippa. On the day felt fine just a bit of a sore arm. Next day felt jittery and freezing cold all day. Also I felt very kind of agitated and short tempered . Next day fine . So seems pretty similar to your experience .
Oh that's really interesting. It's not something that you hear mentioned in the news.
i was absolutely freezing too, goosebumps and my hand was shaking

I really hope you get to feeling better, my friend 😔🥰 My mum and pops did (they took the shot 3 days ago) LOTS of side effects. Enjoyed the visit though, hope you have a better day tomorrow.
Bless them. I slept really solidly last night and woke at 11.30!! So not sure if it's a side effect or catch up from yesterday.
@@WormsEyeView I got up about 11:15 myself, LOL (of course...I was up until 5:45 working on the model kit from hates, though 🤦♂️😜), I'm glad you're feeling better 😊
Glad u are feeling better pip. Here in south africa we haven't had ours yet. Only the nursing staff and elderly. Not sure if I want it. I'm petrified something will go wrong. Xxx take care

I got mine on Friday. Astra Zenaca, a few hours later I had shivers/chills, was FREEZING, aching arm, mild headache and 38.5 then in the morning down to 34. The chills were the worst bit, hand was shaking. I took some paracetamol which helped. I hadn't expect any symptoms as I don't normally get any so it was a new one to me. First 48 hours is crucial. I was quite sore in the area where they did the jab.
I have been told bad reactions means the body is responding and that's what we want. So hopefully that's a good sign. I'm a bit achey today and slept 12 hours!!!
@@WormsEyeView yes, I was told that as well. I am much better today but my arm aches a bit. The second jab is supposed to be worse, oh I can't wait!

I had AstraZeneca on Monday and I was fine. Looking forward to have 2nd one in 12 weeks.

Yes several people have said the same to me now. So it must be quite common.
Thank you for this. I got mine this am and the aching has begun lol. It’s like having a heavy cold without “the cold”. We shall see what the night brings and the am. Pushing through. “Keep Calm and Carry on ....... then order take out with a whiskey 🥃
Take a couple of paracetamol. That's ok with the jab. Good luck. Hope it's not to comfortable xx

Those anxiety speedy symptoms are low blood pressure. I get those all the time. That’s how I wake up in the early morning a lot. Your blood pressure goes so low that your heart beats faster to compensate. The story of my life! I’m sure people are just getting it after the vaccine because their body is fighting it and so your temperature and blood pressure drop. Hope that makes sense.
That would make sense. I have low blood pressure anyway so the slightest drop makes me faint
I get that feeling of my head “buzzing” when I have a fever. Thanks for sharing your reactions to it. It’s interesting to see what reactions different people have. No big surprise that certain ones would be left out of the information provided by the manufacturers. My Aunt had her first yesterday and said it made her sleep for 10 hours straight and she has no energy today. Hope that was it for your reactions.💕👍😊

My arm is achey and ive had head ache since 8am. I have felt "off it" all day... been in and out of bed and felt a little nauseous every so often. I think your ache is deffo jab related.

Hi Pip, I've been thinking of you, and wondering if you had any reactions. Hope your symptoms go away quickly. My Dr. was telling me that if you have some side affects after a vaccination, it shows that your immune system is working for you.
Glad you're feeling somewhat better but for the achy arm. This as informative for those of us who haven't had the vaccine as of yet. When I had the reactions from the shingles vaccine I went to the web site to post about my reactions and the Dr called me a few days later to ask if I had any side effects, and he also documented them. Guess it goes into a data base of some sort.

I thought it was interesting to document the first 24 hours. It's something I think people will look back on in years to come and also something people want to know now.
I think its also important to document effects. It's how science learns!
@@WormsEyeView .. Exactly. That's how we know about the possible side affects of medicines.... it's because there's a history behind them that people and Dr's have documented. i had mine on the 4th of this month and my arm still hurts a lot, i'm doing well 3 days after my jab and i had the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine.
Great to hear you are doing well. I have heard of prolonged arm ache
Thought I read no painkillers, NSAIds, with vaccine? Tylenol, etc. Lots of YT vids on it.
I have read that paracetamol is fine but not ibroprufen.
Good to hear you are having next to no reaction to the jab. The first night after my jab I did get a similar feeling with the anxiety but I never thought it could have been the jab causing it. Apart from what I already told you in your earlier blog after a couple of days everything is back to normal. 👍😊
I'm hearing more people say about the anxiety. I think it must be a bodily responce! Last night I slept 12 hours. 😬 and a little achey today. But feeling much more normal!
I get mine on Thursday will let you know. I have all those symptoms anyway LOL

I was like that at first didn't know if it was just my a aches or the vaccine but they went the next day so It was the jab
I'm a bit achy today but I slept really well. So think it was being lay down for so long that gave todays aches
I have had nothing mind wise but i suffer anxiety every day so wouldnt notice 🤦♀️. My neck is also stiff achey. What time was your jab Pip? Mine was at 4.15pm.
Mine was 3.30pm.

I had the Pfizer jab , in January all I had was a sore arm for about 5 days , which was worse on the first two nights after the jab .
Interesting to hear what others have experienced.
@@WormsEyeView yes . Trev had a sore arm and felt fuzzy headed . We were asked about side effects on the Zoe Covid App too .

Most people I know have had the oxford. I wonder if it's because we are in oxford 🤣🤷♀️
