Before this ending, I thought we can finally get our revenge.
After that, I realised there was no revenge at all. Everyone, Anna, DEFY, even RPK16 just sacrificed everything including themselves for a world more than light and shade
For the sake of her dream, she betrayed her "comrades" and offered up her "master".

Hands down RPK-16 is the most well-written villain in GFL. She's hateable, yes. But that's the point. 😂
She is not hateable! She is a shining beacon of will and determination! we have a lot to learn from her!

@@miyoko8380 are we talking about irl or the story? as far as the story of rpk16 goes she dared to take a step beyond the phisical into the metaphisical.
@@tashatectretius5718 Both, as all of our struggle will essentially lead to an end, of which filled with agony and despair. But, that's what give this life a meaning. We pursue everything we are yet to possess.
The greatest pioneers, are those who dare to take the very first step into the unknown, despite all the sacrifices along the path they walk through.

I also did a little digging there's a watchman comic series by a similar name from DC. Just thought to let the GFL community know. Edit: To Clarify, I mean the title of the song 'Tales of the black freighter'.
There is more to it than that: Tales of the Black Freighter is the thematic throughline of Watchmen, with chapters of the in-setting comic appearing through the various Watchmen issues (because superhero stories are banned in the world of Watchmen, and pirate comics became the big seller instead). It's a story about a man escaping a pirate ship, and getting increasingly desperate, exhausted, and insane on his journey home, until at last he arrives to his hometown, and accidentally kills his family, mistaking them for the pirates. This story parallels several characters, as well as working as a metaphor for the nuclear scare and the cold war, but ultimately, it is the story of Adrian Veidt, who would try to deceive all of humanity and kill millions in his quest to prevent nuclear war - a monster born of good intentions. Even if we are aware of a horrible danger, and have the means to do something about it, we mustn't allow ourselves to be ruled by fear.
In Girls' Frontline, of course, it parallels Shaw's stance on Relic technology, which is sort of a giant metaphor for nuclear power anyway. Shaw is sort of like a scientist working on intercontinental ballistic missiles to prove the point that nukes aren't necessary to resolve disputes. This might be correct in the extreme case where such a conflict breaks out, but in the process of preventing it, you've given a lot of power to some pretty bad people, and discarding the benefits of nuclear power plants is also a little close-minded.

She betrayed everyone, even her creator with this sin of immortality. It is a curse, only few should get - to see the decay of thier friends, family and future. You´re live for eternity, but everyone else around you grow older and older, thier children become oder and decay and so on.
There´s nothing, that excuses her actions.
As a Commander i do like her as a character and despise her for her treason. I wouldn´t hate her, because it was always her own dream to become mortal.
But William is the one i condamn with every fiber.
I hated Yegor for his betrayal and Morridow for her selfishness.
Oh poor Ange... Had she not been headstrong her fate wouldn't have ended like this... A fine difference between bravery and stupidity, hope our o'l Commander doesn't get his ass into trouble he won't recover from in the future, may this be a lesson, the price of failure is the price paid for thinking with your head up your ass, Alpaca may have been an traitorous scum, but she definitely dropped tons of Red flags before that fateful moment. Alas well played RPK-16, but it's over.
I just find overall goals of RPK16 to be cringe. M16 rigthfully called her a clown.

@@アキレス-j2r If that's what you actually think then you misunderstood about as much as you could. Shaw has always been against relic tech and wanted to create DEFY to meet the demands for weapons that relic tech was supposed to fulfill. What RPK did not only showed DEFY triumph over a product of relic tech but also spoil the reveal that Paradeus wanted to be a demonstration of superiority, the future of humanity. She botched their project cocoon and set them back.
