Great video and thanks for updating it. I'll just mention again the minimum range of Sentries. If something gets too close then the Sentry won't attack it, that's the other reason for using fences to keep the enemies at a safe distance to buy time for the Sentries, or you, to kill them.
so good to see that this topic finally sees the light of day that theres a method to it better than others, so chaotic suggesting people share for the common good, but the more they know it becomes easier the more theyd wana try it out.
i prefer a gamestyle with the engineer when i only support my teamates. sure i played a great amount with sentries but the thing is, sentries just kill the fun the others are having cause when the fabricator is lvl 3 or 4 they can't really kill anything. this is especially true when you spam those things one after another. i prefer the weapon locker cost with the 100% reload speed, the decoy and barrier cost cards and movement speed which is in my opinion the single most important card for an engineer. i do not repair, barely upgrade cause when you only build and build and build, you can level up the fabricator even faster. this method is hard, takes effort and realizing that the only kills you will get is with the barriers because the exploding decoy kills don't count as engineer kills. i even admit that you cannot play this way with the majority of the people playing this game but when you find the right people, it just feels right, because you don't take their fun away and they have a place in the game and they respect your choice to hang back. it's a shame that the only idea for an engineer is to pack a couple of hundred sentries in front of a couple barriers
I only just started going sentry-heavy in 2018. I do agree that the other runs can be much more enjoyable though. Some of my favorite runs are when we say only minimal fences, and weapons lockers allowed...no strikes, decoys or offensive fortifications. Sure, it's a lot harder, but the variety is nice.
I like your style and have been playing that way now for a while. Only thing I change is decoy health for barrier cost. Decoys without the extra health just don’t last long enough to be effective. And barriers are cheap enough anyways (I only buy 1 or 2 a game if any). Decoys are the best cause they actually draw the enemies attention. You don’t really need barriers honestly
Hey Chaps, does the repair boost card decrease the cost of refilling ammo or just the time it takes? I know it decreases cost and time of health but was wondering about ammo! Thanks,
Good question... I actually don't know. It will certainly decrease the time. I always assumed it was a set cost/bullet...but that's probably a bad assumption. I'll have to check that out sometime.
With a good team I still have 200k + in the bank at end of a 1-50 on normal, I've also done a 1- 50 on normal with zero sentries, it's all about team play and team classes 👍

I don't play engineer often, but when I do, I always make sure to build the heavy a turret.

I have level 6 skill cards but my fortifications get destroyed so quickly ..
