I just received mine. It looks and feels great. I got a size larger and am thankful for that. I wear a size 64 stahlhelm and the size 58 M43 fits perfectly. Great video.
Love the videos, I'm about to upgrade my m43 ATF cap to an elsenau's. Also the pinch at the top of the cap is called the Jäger Pinch, for those of that want to know. It's the (more) correct way to wear your M43, and it looks super Swag.
I bought a 59 and it fits perfectly. I believe that if you had a hair cut, the one that doesn’t fit will fit. That’s is a a lot of hair on the the sides and will make a big difference.
I used the size 58 on re-enactments with proper haircuts, still was way to tight and even shrank more after that. But it varied with runs bc older 58 marked elsenau caps fit me perfectly. I can confirm 100% that these two caps run smaller than they are marked.
I just received my fourth cap. I wear a 7-1/2 and ordered size 60cm and each fits good. I soaked them down and shaped them to my preference and wore while drying. I got a top line with original insignia. I have another without insignia for every day wear. They are different fabrics but both look excellent. I plan to order yet another one soon. 👍
Cap collector huh. They are cool items, so I understand completely. I have had two elsenau caps and some other vendors. Elsenau is the nicest of the brands I have owned

Just bought one of these in black but not from this site it was good quality and also stamped on the inside. Didn’t come with insignia on it but was still pretty good looking and comfortable
I took a look at the Elsenau page. It appears that they are all now priced (Lower end models) at 75 euros. Is the "model 2" on the video the Italian wool? Thanks for responding.
I use an Elsenau cap and wouldn't dream of using anything else. But it's mostly personal taste. Elenau is almost perfect out of the box. But in the worst case, I'm sure a schusters cap could work if you put enough effort in.
Order one size up. If you have a 58 head size order a 59. Because the 58 will fit like a 57. Wash it by hand in cold or lukewarm water with no or very little soap.

My Elsenau M43 was about a size larger than I ordered. But it is now September 2022. So he may have changed. It shrunk down slightly after I wet it
Maybe he adapted his sizing. These types of cap have the tendency to schrink a bit indeed

How did you get the pinch on each side of the peak to stay in place?
Soak the cap in water, form it to your liking, and wait till its dry. It will keep the shape you give it when wet

Things have changed on their site. I believe the one I have is the 606 wool. Either way they are all great, so don't wory too much 👍🏻
When their back in stock can you do a review on ATF’s m43?

Late reply but I am extremely unhappy with my EREL m43. I would not recommend the m43 to anyone who cares about authenticity.
