And a (late) congrats on 1k subs! It's awesome to see how much your channel has grown over the last couple years.

Finally had time to watching this one start to finish. I know it wasn't a great performing video for you but I'd be interested in seeing more be it updates on refining your technique, a tear down or anything really. I've heard of counterfeit flux on eBay and the like, any concern the paste isn't genuine?
I've been kicking around the idea of picking up a hot plate for those boards with absurd thermal mass. It's a pain using two irons or an iron and hot air to remove or place parts- no hands left over to run the tweezers!

Yep a long video, glad you found the time. Meh, I knew the video wouldn't be a banger but it was a bit of insight into very basic tomfoolery on my part. Technique refinement is a priority for sure, I'll hand solder SMD's all day but bulk soldering is new to my shop, though not at all foreign. I got this bad boy because I want to repair those hideous thermally massive LED PCB's made from alumin(i)um 😉 among other things. Yep, I am suspect of the solder paste more research required, though the goal is cheap as possible without being a complete fail. For the price this hot plate is a must have in my opinion, opens a lot more doors and you don't need more hands, I get into enough trouble with the two I got!

Always use my 3d Printer as a hot plate for phones works perfect

For heating phone screens to loosen the adhesive? Surely not for soldering, lol.

Yep, going to "Take it apart" already turned it on though. Nvm.
