Hi. Single female rider ITCHY BOOTS bought a Himalayan in India and rode her bike from India through Southeast Asia and then through Central Asia, Europe and back to her home country The Netherlands. All in all she did around 36,000 km. You may want to watch those episodes which are interesting and very well compiled.
She tryed reregister Basanti to Nederlands but, several resons it didt work, modified and ceoc documents, for inport to EU made it troublesome, RE helped some to get an other bike.
Great Video Ol'Man Ronin. I want to get a Himalayan. I'm a new rider (been 35 years since a motorcycle during grad school). Some reviewers seem addicted to high power and heavy plastic bikes. You remind me of who I am. I'd love to train for the the TransAmerica Trail. Maybe you'll lead a trip some day?
The best part of the video for me is it was like a virtual tour of your neighborhood/town, and in the movies or shows or whatever we hardly get to see places like these, or maybe we do but its more cinematic, this felt more real and lovely. Cheers
"Where are we? Well, lets' find out" That's what motorcycle riding is about... loved your channel, love the work you're putting in the channel, subbed, much respect!
Great review of Himalayan, Thanks. Few things which you discussed during your ride. 1. Google Maps - Don't rely on Google Maps, it will take to all crap you can possibly find, I had a hard time with that during my road trip to Kerala. 2. Check your seating comfort, stock seats on Himalayan are good for a 1 -2 hrs ride, then its pain. I would suggest trying to get a gel-based seat or an air seat. Your ride would be comfortable. 3. Do carry fuses for the bike, 5, 10, 15, and 25 amps. major issues can be solved with them. 4. Carry L key set/Hex keys set, most of the bolts on Himalayan are Hex Keys. Hope this helps you, have fun Ride hard, Ride Safe.
Great video and channel; luv your stuff. What is the Himalayan like for carrying a passenger? Asking coz I do ride a lot with my wife on the back. Gotta Enfield Interceptor 650; superb bike.
My wife says it's more comfortable than our Softail Deluxe. That says something to me. Its in one of my early Himalayan videos! Thank you for watching and subscribing Cheers!
Thanx for the quick reply wow. I’m gonna check that video out now. We know the Himalayan is comfy to sit on but your wife’s comments are great to hear. Can’t get a test ride on the Himalayan in England coz of Covid, bikes are in short supply. Will deffo test ride when one comes available. Thanks again and ride safe. Neil🍺
I've been riding a Harley Deluxe the past five years and earlier this year I bought a 21'Honda crf300 rally for all the same reasons you mentioned but one additional benefit, all plastic and no paint to worry about. It was $7,200 out the door with a factory hard top box.
Summed up in a nutshell! I was brought up on old British motorcycles and have since had all sorts of machines since. The Himalayan brings it all back to basics and what motorcycling is really about.
I took a test ride on a Himalayan when it come out and i loved it. i'm looking forword for the new 650 Himalayan. I own a 92 Vespa Coza 200 & a Yamaha SZR 660 SS ( super single), two opposite rides. I love them all. Keep up the good work....
I worked in Greaves Cotton and some of my colleagues own 435 cc diesel Enfield from the 80's and....man he wouldnt part with it. The economy of 100 Km/litre of diesel and very little maintenance, and engine itself of italian origin was a gem. Very fewbof those remain.
To make Google maps do your route, set your route into short waypoints. Send it to your phone to save it. Google maps will only allow 8 or 10 waypoints per route so, create multi-routes for your trip.
Fun Fact : every fuel tank of a RE bike is unique. its is manually painted by a factory artist with his brush and there are no exact patterns of painting them.

I brought my himalala to keep me out of trouble, and it kinda does the job, also allowed me to strip the california from much needed rebuild, So far I clocked up about 9kmiles on the himi been through 2salt filled winters and some sunshine days, yes I've had a few issues but nothing that any non Japanese bike would have,, look back I would should have regeased everything with decent grease! 🤪 You can't take for granted the factory stuff is doing its job, but hey, that's a small problem , early on I swoped out the exhaust, the original is over weight! Took me some time to find a can that kept the torque on tap,, I be tuned in to see how you get on
Answer to your question asked at 12:59, select the route in Google maps, start navigation and then stop the internet but keep your gps active. In this way, Google won't re-route the path. I hope this would be helpful. Cheers and ride safe 🙂
You’re right! This bike is fun! And perfect for mountain roads! Been driving Himalayan in Indian Himalaya a lot. And other Royal Enfields too. The Africa Twin is very tall and heavy for off road for a little old guy like me. When you said it was fun, I believed you. A lot of other motorcyclists are all about the specs. Hi 'Ol Man, good on ya for getting a Himmy. I've got a 2017 non ABS version in NZ. Dropped it today for the first time practicing some low speed turns at Foxton Beach car park. Ha Ha. Got some 50mm Ape Racing risers and a set of Givi crash bars (which now have a bit of a scratch...) Going to get a new Shinko E705 rear tyre soon but have done about 8,000k's on a Bridgestone Trailwing 42 which wasn't new when I bought the bike second hand. Seems Ok on Kiwi gravel roads and all good on the tar. Good On Ya for getting a proper bike lol. Just found your channel - subscribed - I am 'older' at 52, and am looking at a Himalayan as my 1st bike (only bike) for 3 reasons, 1. Easy to work on 2. Goes nearly anywhere and 3. It's not the bike that every Joe Schmoo has. I love that it can be racked up with Paniers front and back, to carry everything needed for an adventure. But at the same time those (hard case from RE) panniers are great for tooling around town and shopping with.
You should also try riding Royal Enfield classic 500 and Thunderbird 500 man they ride as smooth as butter and very much comfortable for long rides also its maintenance is pretty low and are very rough and tough..
Just bought mine. I was on it 30 seconds from the showroom and a guy on a pedal bike pulled up and told me how nice it was. Im 6 ft 5 occasionally bang my knees on the crash bars and the seat is like a plank of wood.....apart from that i love it!
You should try your hands on legendary Royal Enfiled Classic 500. Ride it for some distance that’s also a really FUN bike. Totally different type of fun you get on Himalayan .

If you add way points to your route, Google will reroute you back to the way point and not the direct route to final destination. You can make them the stop overs and refuel.
I own a himalayan and it is absolute joy to ride it. Last week i test rode a triumph tiger 660 and it was a huge turn down fr me. It just felt like any sports bike with almost no motorcycling feel. Himalayan has set very high expectation levels fr me

Love from India, we are very optimistic for the future of Harley in India, with the collaboration of Hero Moto corporation. Hope it will come cheap and penetrate Indian market. Thank you, have a great day
Try offline maps. Search the route and start the navigation and put your phone on airplane mode. This way the navigation will not look for an alternate route even if you miss a turn on purpose. It will keep the original route on all the time.
So, I rented this bike when I was out in Nagaland in India, and I had only ridden around 250kms on a gear bike while learning (ridden tens of thousands of kilometers on a non-gear moped) since they didn't have a non-gear at hand, and it was so easy to ride! I was giggling like a little girl everytime I went over a pothole or had to offroad. It felt lime nothing. She does indeed struggle on highways though, but its a very easy, very fun bike to ride.
You're absolutely killin it on the videos and it shows. Higher view count than subs you have! Looking forward to that trans American trail video

Oh, and did we mention the Himalayans are a BLAST to ride? LOL
If you repaint your Harley, PLEASE do a video about it. :)
LOL Aren't the Himis great! and defin will do THANK YOU so much for watching!!!
You should try classic 500 too
Very nice video! I'm glad Her Two Wheels aimed me in your direction. Ride safe and enjoy!!!
Thanks for coming. Cheers
Nice presentation, good filmography, beautiful countryside scenes and more over a lovely bike. This is a soon to be 1 mil subscriber channel in the making ❤️. Great job buddy !
Thank you ever so much!
“Her two wheels” sent me. Great stuff dude. I’m also interested in the RE Himalayan. Thanks
Awesomeness and welcome So glad you enjoy my work cheers
Watch my videos. I mention her frequently! ;)
Harley rider here , if i was in the market for an all around bike it would be a Himalayan. Good price good torque, good mileage, and dependable.
Couldnt agree more, riding is about having fun (not specs and numbers)
Great video once more mate
Thanks man I appreciate and agree with you!
good stuff. as an owner of a RE myself, i get you. amazing bike for the price.
The best part of the video for me is it was like a virtual tour of your neighborhood/town, and in the movies or shows or whatever we hardly get to see places like these, or maybe we do but its more cinematic, this felt more real and lovely. Cheers
Thank you that is greatly appreciated cheers for watching and subscribing
Absolutely there is no 2nd off-road er like this in the world today. Everytime it's a charm riding it. Loved watching the whole episode
Thank you so very much and I agree!!!
"Where are we? Well, lets' find out" That's what motorcycle riding is about... loved your channel, love the work you're putting in the channel, subbed, much respect!
Thank you ever so much and welcome
Man this is some amazing content. Why is this channel so underrated?
Help spread the word!!!
Hey Subi thank you so much for watching and hopefully subscribing!
Neil🍺
@@mrgrizzlyrides You as well Neil!!
Your positive energy is infectious , sir!
Your videos , m lovin them.
Have a safe and good ride!
Thsnk you so much
cool video, ol'man! gonna buy one soon!!! Subscribed!
thats awesome and thank you for watching
I am almost binge watching all the videos on Himalayan on your channel. As I am waiting for my Himalayan to be delivered. 🤩
Watching all his vids and realised I haven't even subscribed!!!.... Time to hit that sub button 👍
THANK YOU!
To make Google maps do your route, set your route into short waypoints. Send it to your phone to save it. Google maps will only allow 8 or 10 waypoints per route so, create multi-routes for your trip.
damn, i didn't know R.E were kinda popular out in the U.S. Really Happy to see people like these bikes in the west. Best wishes friend. :)
Mahindra Roxor and RE bikes are popular in US
Fun Fact : every fuel tank of a RE bike is unique. its is manually painted by a factory artist with his brush and there are no exact patterns of painting them.
Hi Ronin, thank you for your video, I am waiting in anticipation of my RE Him, its held up on the docks because of the dam coronavirus, hopefully soon : )
Welcome to the family!
Wait a bit if haven't got one yet. The new 2021 models got some nice updates to be unveiled on 11th feb 21
I have a Garmin Zumo 396 LMT-S Motorcyle GPS .. For Snowmbiles I have a hand held Garmin ..and I can put a small memory card in it with all the Michigan Snowmobile Trails ..
I believe they have maps on memory cards for the TAT .. The dedicated trails show up as oragne lines ...plus it shows all the Country roads and highways ect..
I think that's the direction I'm heading as well. And yes there is a card for the TAT. Thank you ever so much for watching.
Love from India ❤️
I'm from India and I wish RUclips suggests your video to Indian audiences. If Indian audience start watching your video you'll see exponential growth in views and subscribers.
A friendly reminder just don't hurt Indian sentiments.

Great video. I have a Nov 2002 Nighttrain. Bought it new and still riding it. Also have a mk2 1200 Bandit which I use when im solo. After 20 years im now feeling my age and the Himalayan is making a lot of sense. Most of my riding is within 60 miles of home and mainly back roads, the Bandit is just too much bike for where I ride. This would do the job just fine.
Great video sir you do deserve a lot more subscribers . Regards from India.
thank you so very much
I brought my himalala to keep me out of trouble, and it kinda does the job, also allowed me to strip the california from much needed rebuild,
So far I clocked up about 9kmiles on the himi been through 2salt filled winters and some sunshine days, yes I've had a few issues but nothing that any non Japanese bike would have,, look back I would should have regeased everything with decent grease! 🤪
You can't take for granted the factory stuff is doing its job, but hey, that's a small problem , early on I swoped out the exhaust, the original is over weight! Took me some time to find a can that kept the torque on tap,,
I be tuned in to see how you get on
First time viewer, great vids just subscribed. Keep up the good work!
Welcome aboard! and thank you
Answer to your question asked at 12:59, select the route in Google maps, start navigation and then stop the internet but keep your gps active. In this way, Google won't re-route the path. I hope this would be helpful. Cheers and ride safe 🙂
Thanks for the tip!
You’re right! This bike is fun! And perfect for mountain roads! Been driving Himalayan in Indian Himalaya a lot. And other Royal Enfields too. Don’t have any experience from other bikes so can’t do any comparisons. But been thinking to buy one from my home country. Been also thinking to buy one from India and drive it to Finland. That would be a bigger project and adventure😅
That would be Epic.
Thinking on buying this someday
ENFEILD BRINGS SMILES WHEN WE RIDE IT....I own myself one back home which is a Bullet 350...Cheers mate
I love your hustle. Keep it up brother. I will constantly support your content.
I will surely try my friend! Thank uou ever so much
India has excellent roads though, surely many of you didn't visit recently... India has every kind of terrain so these bikes are especially made for tough conditions.. can't wait to get my own himalayan though,I get my license next year.
Thank God I didn't take s nap today. Instead I got to your channel. Will keep coming here. Great video
In India, here the RE brand is total cult. You will find one in almost every household.
Will wait for you to review interceptor 650 too.
Thanks for doing this. I spent 10 years on my Road King now I ride an Africa Twin. I wish I'd watched this before I bought the Africa Twin. The Africa Twin is very tall and heavy for off road for a little old guy like me. When you said it was fun, I believed you. A lot of other motorcyclists are all about the specs. Motorcyles are toys, the only way you can evaluate them is by how much pleasure they give you. Harley guys get it.
Thank you so very much Gerald, that is an amazing and heartfelt comment and I greatly appreciate it. Ride safe my friend and seriously test ride a Himalayan. Its a riot!
Hi 'Ol Man, good on ya for getting a Himmy. I've got a 2017 non ABS version in NZ. Dropped it today for the first time practicing some low speed turns at Foxton Beach car park. Ha Ha. My cheap Amazon bar protectors probably helped (same as Karmakazi uses I think) and all that was hurt was my pride (and there's not much of that left). I'm old (54) but not as old as you!!! Hope your trip goes well. ps I'm a bit drunk so am rambling but heyho at least I'm not riding at the mo! Cheers. Just Subscribed
Lol no worries there youngster lol and have a swig for me! Thanks though for subscribing! Glad you are enjoying the channel and look forward to hearing from you again! Cheers and ride safe!
Thats official indian millitary bike... They use these on lac in ladakh
They don't use this motorcycle. Group of officers used this moto for one ride.
No its not official bike in ladakh or anything.
@@hiteshadhikari indian army n almost all police n para forces use interceptor 650 or classic 350 as standard..never seen anyone on himalayan...some also use TVS apache for fast role
Sir this byk handles well because During Making Himalyan A Rider Who Perticipated in World Daccar Race and Finished Rode it during testing and his valuable Inputs given to Maker which helped today to make this byk !Best Of Luck for The Upacoming Adventures 🙂
Just subscribed. I’m excited to follow your trip.
It will be epic ... well at least for this ol man lol
Enjoyed the video, great review and hope to see more such videos from you. RE Himalayan is not a bike for the ages but is definitely a cost effective fun bike for sometime.
Royal Enfield is growing very much in every country 🔥❤️👍🏼
Hi ronin, jason here from the gold coast Australia love your videos mate have only just subscribed looking forward to some more i like your no bullshit approach to how you talk about stuff, i have a royal enfield interceptor 650, and have been thinking about the Himalayan for a second bike for some time now . In Australia there around $7.000. So watching your vids helps me understand more about the bike, anyway hang loose and ride safe. Cheers.
Thank you so much Jason and welcome to the channel! I can't wait to ride the Int 650. Might even have to sell a Harley or two lol Cheers!
Right choice for cruising through America. Great country 🙏 and love from India.
Thank you and love back from Ohio
Just found your channel - subscribed - I am 'older' at 52, and am looking at a Himalayan as my 1st bike (only bike) for 3 reasons, 1. Easy to work on 2. Goes nearly anywhere and 3. It's not the bike that every Joe Schmoo has. I love that it can be racked up with Paniers front and back, to carry everything needed for an adventure. But at the same time those (hard case from RE) panniers are great for tooling around town and shopping with.
Welcome!! Thank you so much for watching and sharing your comment. Cheers
Im 6 ft 5 occasionally bang my knees on the crash bars and the seat is like a plank of wood.....apart from that i love it!
watch tomorrows video my 1 year REVIEW
Sir you has to know the history about royal enfield,
Even i have RE 1968model still loving it ❤
Yo Ronin you just got a new subscriber, no fancy stuff, sometimes life is all about simplicity and joy of pure motorcycling spirit, keep rolling 🍻
Thank you so very much. Nope I'm not glitz lol I'm just a longtime rider with a camera and years of knowledge and fun to share!
You should try your hands on legendary Royal Enfiled Classic 500. Ride it for some distance that’s also a really FUN bike. Totally different type of fun you get on Himalayan .
I have and they are indeed fun.
well i got recommend this randomly, maybe because im indian umm anyways i really liked your style like riding and talking about things it's really engaging.. subscribed.
Thank you Rahul and welcome to the channel
Hey! Very good review! Helped me out!...one question, how tall are you? I'm 6.3 ft and don't know if royal enfields are made for my hight:D... Do you have any experience? Thx!
Same height as you 34 inch inseam if that helps.
Thanks! Because of hard-lockdown here in Germany, the shops are closed since early November, so I can't test it by myself. Ride safe and keep on rocking!
If you add way points to your route, Google will reroute you back to the way point and not the direct route to final destination. You can make them the stop overs and refuel.
I must learn this !! Thank you ever so much.
06:04 Start about Himalayan. Before it's all about Harleys. Your welcome.
I own a himalayan and it is absolute joy to ride it. Last week i test rode a triumph tiger 660 and it was a huge turn down fr me. It just felt like any sports bike with almost no motorcycling feel. Himalayan has set very high expectation levels fr me
thats awesome to hear the Himalayan is just a riders bike and that's about all I really can say.
RE's are pretty cool. Definitely a hard core Adv bike, but built to ride trails in India, not big American freeways. I look forward to seeing your TAT vids.
Hey love your videos. Keep posting more and soon you will be popular and rich and will afford more Harleys. Looking forward for that day to come
Love from India, we are very optimistic for the future of Harley in India, with the collaboration of Hero Moto corporation.
Hope it will come cheap and penetrate Indian market.
Thank you, have a great day
Try offline maps. Search the route and start the navigation and put your phone on airplane mode. This way the navigation will not look for an alternate route even if you miss a turn on purpose. It will keep the original route on all the time.
Felt guilty when you talked about scratches on your bike ... will touch up my enfield soon
lol I know right.
I have 3 Harley's and a himalayan rode it from PA to NC then across the TAT to CO had a blast
awesomeness
Have you followed Itchy Boots? I found her when she was riding through India and the ‘Stan’s and on into Europe.
Yes, she was the reason I started looking at the Himalayan. To go that far and without issues??? yeah impressive
Subbed. Looking forward to seeing some TAT videos on the Himalayan
I am as well, until then I hope you enjoy my prep videos as well as my other ones! Thank you for subscribing! Cheers!
I don't know if you heard of but that bike, that nice himalayan gets super awesome with powertronic CDI, check that out!
The first time i rode my friend's himalayan, i felt like i'm on top of the world
U can download that selected route.
