    Every report is important. Great to listen to the post game insight. Still amazed how your channel hasn’t “blown up” yet. Definitely deserved

      I may not be investing in promoting it as I should 😁 want to keep an adequate hobby-personal balance also. But I'm happy people like it! Stay tuned, the next BR is just around the corner 💚

    Ouch... that's really all I can say. I had a match like this against the Nighthaunt as Kharadron Overlords of all things. My opponent made a lot of mistakes, but a lot of rolls went my way(Such as unbinding his Purple Sun), won the double turn, and tabled him at the top of Round 2. It always hurts to win like this, but it happens. Seraphon are very powerful right now, and the Lumineth didn't have any protection or mitigation against the double-turn due to failed spells and the like.
    Glad to see an upload, nonetheless. The commentary afterwards made this a good experience for learning how to deal with the Round 2 Double.

      Thanks for the feedback! This type of thing sometimes happens when lists are very extreme during a certan phase of the game. Seraphon leans a lot into the hero phase, KO into the shooting phase and Nighthaunt into the charge phase. The only way to handle this type of thing, outside of having an obvious counter in any available units/rules, is to keep your distance or employ screens. Both of these things unfortunately are not very effective when the other side teleports and casts with a +3/4 bonus. But even so, depending on the battleplan, facion and terrain, there are always ways of trying to make it harder or riskier for your opponent to double you in a bullet proof way!

    the main problem is that Lumineth are built to castle and Seraphon are built to destroy castles.

  • @ross_sco

    You hit the nail on the head with Seraphon and all the bonus' and scaling they get. I've played non Teclis LRL against it enough to just straight up not enjoy it. The low wound heroes and low bravery units get wrecked by comets call, for some reason they always roll 5 or 6 units :D I would say you will mostly loose vs starborne without Teclis. If bladelords still had a spell ignore it could have been diffrent, but as it stands we need Teclis to compete v Kroak IMO

    • @HammerofWar
      @HammerofWar  Год назад

      I tend to agree with you. Still, Teclis is a bit of a less obvious choice this season, since most armies can throw 3d6 at an unbind nowadays..

    Thanks for the battle. Agree showing ‘learning’ examples is good too. Appreciate the review afterwards. Helps with building better lists. Maybe next time get some comments from your opponent too (you can voice them).
    Would the eater of magic command trait and the rune be a good combination? Bonus on dispels and chance opponent forgets the spell.
    Also I would give the lore seeker the blizzard and try a kamikaze with it by going very close to the enemy (thus not in de acolytes battalion).
    What do you think?

    • @HammerofWar
      @HammerofWar  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the feedback! Eater of magic is interesting, but relatively defensive. I would definitely use it if I knew I would face seraphon specifically, but I tend not to try to tailor the list to that situation.
      The talk at the end helps me and you process what was behind each decision. It makes people feel less frustrated to witness this specific type of game. I think I have to shorten it a bit though.
      I like the kamikaze idea, but I think I prefer to have him try to ensure the Malevolent Storm goes off close to enemy lines. It can do a lot.
      Stay tuned for more 🙂

    good battle report but did he have the astrilith bear by the kroak at the end the of turn 2. if i recall with astrilith bear you have to be within 12" of him to get the buff. i dont know where his astrilith bear but i know he was not by kroak to give him that buff to kill off all that unit.

    • @HammerofWar
      @HammerofWar  Год назад +1

      We was just near the pyramid, and he measured the 12" from Kroak.
      He even setup Kroak further behind at first and then adjusted him to be placed a bit forward, all the while measuring to be sure he was within 12" of the astrolith. Unfortunately for me, it was possible! 😔

    Going into my first tournament this weekend as lumineth player . I’m expecting to face seraphon any advice? I’m going zeitrec without teclis. Or would it be better to bring him?

    • @HammerofWar
      @HammerofWar  Год назад

      I think Teclis is still a very versatile option for Lumineth in a Tournament setting. But I am a firm believer that you can play with more flexibility without him IF you play well and have your gameplan well prepared. I would advise you to take some sort of extra protection against magic because of Seraphon and Tzeentch, like the Rune of Senthoi or something that almost ensures you cast protection of hysh. Overall, I find competitive Lumineth outside of Teclis builds is still very much challenging.

    • @eduardorodriguezcorrea7386
      @eduardorodriguezcorrea7386 Год назад

      Thanks maybe I will drop the silver wand and get the rune of senthoi. That’s exactly my worry heavy mortal wound area damage. Not being able to cast protection or hysh, also the range it’s very small.

    • @eduardorodriguezcorrea7386
      @eduardorodriguezcorrea7386 Год назад

      Dropped the silver wand and added the rune I don’t know if maybe it’s better to drop the lord regent and add another scinari wizard to increase its effectiveness. Only problem would be buffing the sentinels to do mortals on 5s.

    By the way to the not competitive viewer :
    This went way wrong for Lumneth and you literally saw everything going perfect for us ( Seraphon player here ). It’s plasmatic.
    Also : you won’t see any battlereport of Khorne and OBR vs Seraphon Stsrborne “strong list”. Why ? Because it’s literally an auto lose and a 10 year old can beat the Seraphon player by pushing his little soldiers forward. This does not mean that the rest of the armies do not have huge issues with it, but in a big tournament a serious Seraphon player is probably skipping this “strong” list. It’s horrible for casual players / games for sure though
