This video has the pre-mating rut season on display. Before the cows are ready to mate, the dominant bulls have their hands full having to chase the lesser bulls away from their cows. To keep the cows around, they dig a rut pit, where they urinate in the pit and then stomp in it to get it all over their bells (dewlaps) and bodies. The pheromones in their urine drive the cows wild and all they want is to roll around in that pit, to the degree of fighting over it, which makes for some hilarious moments. They aren't interested in the bull yet. Eventually they will but for now, he must just stand by dejected until they come into heat. Fast, furious, fun stuff. Enjoy!

I'm binging... Why did that cow wallow in bull pee? Was he guarding her because he was just standing around looking really disinterested... 🤔 And do the know exactly where you are but choose to ignore you too? Also, if you saw a bull get really badly injured, not able to run or fight a big predator, would you euthanise it?
The cows wallow in the pee because it's laden with pheromones that are believed to bring them into estrus. It's all chemical during the rut. Otherwise they ignore the bull. Moose are loners, and don't herd up, so this is the only time of year they are seen in groups. An injured bull who could not outrun a predator is bear/coyote bait; we cannot interfere with nature. Don't have the means to euthanize. Guns are prohibited where we go.
