  • A fan made reworking of "Wuthering Heights". These are Kate's original vocals taken down in pitch to match her current vocal style as she might sing the song today. Enjoy!

    So, as I understand, this is how Kate sounded in 2013? Her voice is more mature, lower, deeper (which is normal as we age) but still marvelous. I wonder how she would sound in 2021 (almost 2022)? Greetings from Poland to each one of Kate's fan and to Kate herself. ♥️

      Celine Dion sang The Reason (one of her hardest songs from the 90s) live in 2018 in the same key she used to perform it live when she released it. She also sang it a few times in the original key back when the song was new before dropping it a tad too.
      Also Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine sings her songs in the same key she recorded them in. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an instance where she dropped a song down.

    She sounds BEAUTIFUL but I have a weird question, Why do people's voices get deeper as we get older. I'm only 30 but mum and I are singers. My mum's 52. Her voice is also deeper since when she was 20. My step Dad knows Kate very well and my Mum and him live with the guy who worked with Kate on all her albums. So can anyone answer my weird question???

    • @razrv3lc
      @razrv3lc 8 лет назад

      +Alex Ferguson I'm not sure she could still do this, though. Her voice is a lot lower than it used to be. The "high" notes from 50 Words weren't even that high. The highest one I can think of is in Lake Tahoe, when she's acting like she's calling out for a dog... which was maybe a C5 or D5 at most.

    So this how she would sing it today if she wanted too. Okay, when it first started I weren't sure but when I read wot it said about that Kate would sing it like this now it doesn't sound to bad but it still doesn't have the same feel to it as it did on the 1986 version or the oringal version. But I must say that it would work in concert if she ever sing it again

    The same vocal range as Andre Matos of Angra.
    Considering he's a man (and the anatomy of vocal chords are not the same) he does an excelent job.

    • @razrv3lc
      @razrv3lc 5 лет назад +1

      Men physically tend to be able to have wider ranges than women due to the anatomy of the vocal cords. I can think of a couple of male rock singers with about 4 octaves of range. Most great women pop singers tend to have around 3.5 octaves at most. The only major ones I can think of with larger ranges are Cyndi Lauper and Mariah Carey (although she uses whistle register to extend over her normal range, which is pretty in line with the 3.5 octave range of other female singers).

    I wish she would make more songs like this. 50 Words for Snow and Aerial were quite frankly depressing and boring. How to Be Invisible and Bertie, both from Aerial, were the only songs that seemed to have ANY life in them.
    Edit: 4 years later, I actually really love both of those albums. Aerial is in my top 3 Kate albums. Just had to acclimate to them I guess lol

    • @razrv3lc
      @razrv3lc 5 лет назад

      It's partly because of how fast it is. Hayley Westenra is a great singer but she's always seemed more preoccupied with technique than emotions and never seemed to find a good balance. Flawless but her performances are usually boring :/

    I guess hearing Pat Benatar's version from her Crimes of Passion album spoiled me for anyone else. No one can duplicate the haunting sound of Pat's voice, probably a product of her opera training. I'm not saying this isn't a nice cover, but I have to say Pat captures the haunted feeling for me much better.
