There are a lot of small delivery companies out there now. The world has changed, and CUPW has to come to terms with it.
Canada Post made a fetal mistake by continuing to deliver door-to-door. I spoke to a mailman last month and he was complaining about the amount of walking each day. In what world are we still delivering on foot (door-to-door)? when 90% of the mail we get are "junk mail advertisement" these days. And almost every service can be done online, including receiving funds directly through auto-deposits. E-transfer has replaced the needs to mail cheques as well, and we can deposit cheques on phone apps. So lay off 30-40% of work force, adopt 100% Community Mailbox type of delivery, and create more ways to generate income through existing kiosks inside Shopper (ie. deliver prescription drugs for Shoppers, sell more services? be creative). This will reduce cost of labour, gas, vehicles, vehicle maintenance, etc. But let's wait till early 2025 when NDP/Liberal are going to give them a big BAILOUT package. This is the Union's fault. They don't want part-timers to deliver on the weekend, they don't want full adoption of community mailboxes.. but they they want more pay, more benefits when their employer will run out of cash by early 2025.

It's totally lost on Canada Post workers and their union that they are losing hundreds of millions everyear and are being kept alive by tax payers. This affectively means, they are welfare receipients who volunteer for some extra money
Canada Post doesnt take tax dollars
Time for binding arbitration, or workers should be legislated back immediately. Hurting tens of thousands of small businesses who have to move their goods!!
lazy workers need to be let go.
One day Canada will get independence from illegal occupation of Khalistan. That day is not too far. 🇨🇦
How do postal workers live their life without getting paid? How long chould they keep on being strike?
End the negotiations … appoint an Arbitrator … tax payers are sick and tired of this.
Taxpayers don't pay for Canada Post. Perhaps use the internet and look stuff up before you complain lol
@@greigwrno that’s not how it works
@ The Federal Government, also known as the Government of Canada , oversees things that affect the entire country, such as the postal service, national defense, the Supreme Court, passports, federal income tax, and employment insurance. Canada Post is a Crown corporation owned by the federal government.
@@greigwr lol nothing to do with what he says. Tax payers don’t pay for Canada post. You’re welcome
@@Paaacssthey definitely do. They are losing money and must get paid from somewhere. A bunch of overpaid bums
Binding arbitration.
Impose employer's last offer.
@@asmith8947not how it works in Canada 🇨🇦
Than you to the postal workers for holding me hostage! Can’t wait till they go back to work & find out my packages have been lost, please contact the company you purchased them from. Merry Christmas 🎄
Canada post is gone the way of the dodo bird, just as we don’t need phone operators, I hear someone with Canada post saying they might have to go to seven day service, that really proves they have no clue, if anything they should be looking at streamlining their parcel service and doing once a week mail delivery or even by weekly mail delivery.
Revenues and volume are down drastically and aren't coming back. All other industries have had to make significant adjustments so there should be no difference here. This is not the 1980s anymore, time to move on and accept the new reality.
It's both pathetic and hilarious that unions/employees are demanding increasing to 7 day work week and demanding they do it being paid overtime
Canada Post owns 91% of purolator. Doug Ettinger the CEO of Canada Post on Purolator Board of Directors. How is it that Purolator always has a profit while CP is losing money. Seems fishy.
Should have been investigated ages ago.
Conflict of interest. Union's also far from blameless. Meanwhile 55 000 workers go without wages.
Because Purolator is not forced to deliver to non-profitable locations. Canada Post is a service with a mandate that all Canadians can send and receive mail. Even if this means losing money in some places. Problem is the profitable places are not offsetting the losses anymore. A for profit company would just stop delivering to the unprofitable areas but CP cannot do this.
Plenty of parcel couriers out there
already.
Keep the letter carriers and also
anything that fits in large envelopes. A subsidized Canada post is an essential service not a
Private Corporation that needs to
please shareholders.
Mr. Hamilton is a 🤡 and needs to give up his huge bonuses along with other management when they have not turned a profit or secured their position in the parcel market. Postal workers are the last step in the chain …. They should not be held accountable for broken corporation…. Stop going to the press to get public attention and get back to the table to get a contract finalized…. Post workers want to go back to work and Canada wants to get back to business!
Steve McKinnon apply for job at walmart

Has anyone even been bothered by this strike? lol no one uses Canada Post.
Unless you want to actually lose something.
Steve McKinnon here the walmart carts🛒🛒🛒🛒🛒
There’s a postal strike? When did this happen?
😂😆🤣
Health system broken, Post Canada broken, so what is the role of gouvernement?
To make it difficult for businesses to generate the tax revenue they inefficiently redistribute.
Imagine going on a strike, only to prove that you are not needed anyways
are you dumb? over $800M in lost Canadian small-&-medium business commerce since the strike began, it might reach $1B by tomorrow. this labour strike is transpiring during Christmas-shopping season
0 skill employees demanding a 24% increase lol
This is absolutely crazy to me. This is like Justin Trudeau.
Canada Post is in like $3 billion debt and the employees want more money. Where’s everybody’s common sense? Where is everybody’s brains
They lost thier brains in 2020
@ well apparently they’re not there because I don’t know what company can give more money when they owe $3 billion. It’s the end of the company.
I've been waiting for my Alberta id for over three weeks and im
If they are unhappy with their job, they should just find a different one. But wait, most would not be able to find a job that pays them more...I'm going to start calling them commie post.
I don't miss Canada post. Let them stay home. I sent my Christmas parcels with UPS. Lots of fat to cut there Justin!
They should switch their tactics and try for profit sharing ;)
Close it down
Maybe they should just get back together and try and make it work without a negotiator.
Bend so that both parties can move forward and help change the business as you know it
oh great, why not ask for 300 percent salary increase and threaten with strike? why stop at 30 percent?
Shut down the doors
Canada Post Rainmaker Investment LTD Owns 91% Puralator Courier .
Canada Post Contracts Out In Some areas Parcel Deliver Delivery and Rural area Mail .
The day is coming when there will be No Mail Delivery , Online Only
CP is just waiting for an arbitrator so they can impose the cuts that they really wants wich is cutting the pension and benefits in half so they don't have to repay the money they took out of the employees pension fund. By cutting in half , they won't have to repay what they stole for they vanity project.
Yea that’s not true
Let those ‘international students’ fill all positions
No one cares
The letter carriers get paid extra for delivering junk mail, so much a piece, over and and above there wages
