- This is the first of a two-part series, climbing dead oaks, that one of my Climber opted not to tackle because he was unsure of the integrity of the trees. If you are ever unsure of the integrity of your tree, I recommend not climbing the tree my experience, and my familiarity with this site And the cause of death makes me comfortable with this climb. Come along for the ride and perhaps take away a couple of tips and tricks that I share along the way. Don’t forget to visit HTtpS://www.gameoftree... Where all of your purchases help support our Guatemala project. You will find various rope tools from All Gear, Saddles and accessories from both All Gear and Camp, as well as the GRCS and a few of our own products, including our bBochar, Body Bar and Shampoo. 😀
Best quote “I’m just a guy !” Absolutely!! We all are human that makes mistakes . For anyone to say they are the “best” at anything is a joke ! Good maybe but there isn’t a “best” in tree work cause there are so many styles of tree work. Good job Kevin stay safe
Thank you Eric
I learn something every single time I watch tou guys. An excellent virtual mentor.
👍🏻
Morning sir! Is there any way to alter the settings on the GoPro to zoom it out a bit? Love the content and always learn something, it's just more difficult to see what's going on since it's zoomed in so tightly. Not complaining or criticizing, just trying to help in case nobody has mentioned it. Thank you as always for taking the time to capture your work and share your wisdom and experience with us so freely.
Thank you Fred, yes, someone recently mentioned it, and I recently figured it out. Better quality content to come. Thanks for thinking of mentioning it. I’m actually not that techy 😃
Awesome job brother
I like being lanyard'd in too, even with a life-line, to prevent the swing and crash.
The swing isn’t bad, but he landing:)
Why do you not use a machine to take you up more safely? Why risk it? 😮😮😢
The machine was being used on a more appropriate tree, and I was comfortable with my assessment of this tree, even though many people might not be😃
I enjoy the videos and the knowledge you provide. The only thing is that the camera you use for the long form looks to zoomed in to the work and not enough perspective of the cuts and positioning.
One more week, I figured out the wide angle, better footage on the way:)
@@GameofTrees can't wait. I'm a new climber been doing ground work and falling for about 7 years and I watch these videos and others to pick up on different styles and techniques in different situations and it has helped me a lot along the way. I appreciate the time you and other take to make these videos. Be safe.
Nice work Kevin, in the snow no less.
Thanks Rick
Hey Kevin, my comments disappeared. ???
Try again, I am sure I didn’t do it. I’m at TCIA Winter Management in Puerto Vallarta
One more week of this narrow view and then wide angle😃
Of all comments, yours would be the last to be deleted 😃
legit!
Thanks
Hey Kevin! I appreciate the decurrent growth content. Much more entertaining and relatable to me. I climb in the twin cities 2 yrs now having a lot of fun! very heavy Ash population here and it’s devastating. I’m from central Wisconsin and my grandmothers maiden name is Hamm 🤷 take care!
Thanks Donald
Good morning Kevin. I have been forgiven any outdoor chores today by a wonderful rainy start to the day. thank you for talking through this tree removal. as always, I gain insight each time you share.
Thank you
you are welcome Kevin. no matter how many trees I have cut, it is always the first time I have cut this one.@@GameofTrees
It's good that your employees aren't cowboys, climbing anything you throw their way. But I would've brought that guy with me on that. Not to chastise him but to teach.
I did it in the moment so he’ll be able to watch the video. We briefed it in a safety meeting. He did the right thing in the moment.
