The changing room and when he was struggling taking off his shoes and pants scene made me cry worth a one year of crying… it just felt real, it happens when you are consumed by horrofic accidents or sadness that you do stupid lil things like him forgeting to take off his shoes first. Your brian shuts down, and all focus on emotional pain.
True, I saw my granpa once he couldn't pull his pant on when he heard about my aunt's (my granpa's youngest daughter) dead, he just sat there holding the pant, still broke my heart when thinking about it

Ryu Seung-ryong really is a phenomenal actor in South Korea, one of the best. His role in Moving is another addition to all of his accolades in the film industry. There was an interview of him recently where they asked what other superpowers they want. I don't specifically remember his answer (not sure if it's a time or teleportation power) but his main goal in answering the question is so that he can save his wife Jihee from the car accident. Guy is romantic and adorable.

Ryu seung ryong (the actor who plays juwon) said in an interview that the main reason he accepted this role was coz of the funeral scene coz he wanted to deliver an acting performance and he reminded the director too that he's doing this role coz of the funeral scene and when i saw that I was like SIR YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS TO PLAY WITH OUR HEARTS LIKE THAT
Mr. Ryu Seung-ryong said in a recent interview that one of the main reason he accepted this project was THAT moaning scene. He gave himself a challenge, wanted to make that scene THE PERFORMANCE of his acting career! He used several months to prepare that scene (this Kdrama was filmed mostly in sequence to the story). After filming the sequence, he wanted to push the feeling even further! So he (& the director & Writer) added the moaning cloth & changing sequence on the spot. Him losing balance when he was changing the cloth wasn't even planned. He cried so much on that day, he was actually feeling sick & lost his balance at that precise moment!!
It was great but not his best performance. He is a proper cinema film actor that did some major bangers of performance. This one is also very good tho

I love how this show incorporates real historical events into the fictional plot. The Gangneung submarine infiltration incident occurred in the South Korean city of Gangneung and began on September 15, 1996, when a North Korean Navy submarine arrived off the city's coast. The submarine secretly disembarked a special operations reconnaissance team of three people, who were to carry out reconnaissance and espionage work in the area. But the next day, when the submarine tried to pick up the spy team, it failed, and in a new attempt on September 17, the submarine ended up running aground. Faced with this situation, the crew decided to set fire to the submarine to destroy sensitive equipment and enter the territory, dividing it into several groups. The crew consisted of a total of 26 men, from the 22nd Squadron of the Maritime Department of the North Korean Reconnaissance Office. On September 18, the presence of North Korean military spies was detected, and a manhunt began.
A total of 43,000 South Korean military and police participated in the hunt for the North Koreans, which lasted 49 days. During the operation, 24 North Koreans died, 11 of them were executed by their own companions and 13 were killed in action. One North Korean was captured alive (and subsequently joined the South Korean Navy), and another North Korean disappeared and is presumed to have managed to return to North Korea. 12 South Korean soldiers died, 8 of them in action and 4 in accidents related to the operation, and 4 South Korean civilians were also killed. It has been said that the purpose of the infiltration and espionage mission was to prepare an operation to assassinate South Korean President Kim Young-sam who was due to visit the city on October 7.
It was interesting to learn more about the unpleasant guy who will become the high school principal. He worked in the Anti-Communist Division, which at the time of the authoritarian regime not only persecuted communists but also dissidents and opponents in general, such as pro-democracy students.
The death of Jang Ju-won's wife, Hwang Ji-hee, is without a doubt the most heartbreaking moment of the entire show, and the scenes of Ju-won broken by grief are extremely moving and sad, great work by the actor that reaches our hearts.

Ryu is an exceptional actor.
He has got the recognition from the movie "Miracle in Cell No. 7" acting a dad who is mentally-impaired and wrongfully accused.
He did not impress me back then but his acting got better and better as he gets older.
I like his work in 'The Front Line', 'Extreme Job', 'Kingdom', and 'Masquerade'
Still, Juwon might be his best work though!
He said he wanted to make this his best performance. & I think he achieved that!!!
Miracle in cell number 7 is a masterpiece, i discovered him through this movie! He did an exceptional job in that like 🤯

상복으로 갈아입을때 군화가 걸려서 옷을 갈아입지못하는 상황은, 현실성의 측면에서도 놀러운 연출이지만 장주원이라는 인간이 가족을 지키고 자신이 쓸모있음을 증명 하려고 했던 일이, 오히려 가족과의 행복를 가로막는 상황이 되버렸다는걸 은유적으로 표현한건 아닐까도 싶네요. 초반부에 부부간에 넌 나의 쓸모 라고 했던 부분과 그 가족을 지키기위해 사직서를 포기하고 현실에 안주하려했던 행동들, 그리고 민차장이 찾아와 그를 흔들어 놓음으로 가족과 멀어지게 했던 그 상황이 군화에 은유적으로 표현된게 아닌가 싶습니다.
다시 보아도 눈물나는 장면이에요 ㅜㅜ

I would like to tell you something interesting.
The theme of the North Korean invasion that serves as the background for this episode seems to be based on an actual incident. In fact, in the 1990s, North Korean special forces invaded on submarines, and when they were discovered, most committed suicide, and a small number conducted operations to search for North Korean soldiers. I remember that it became quite an issue when North Korean soldiers shot and killed South Korean soldiers coming down from a helicopter from a distance. There were no superpowers.
There were many episodes based on these real events.
And in the previous episode, the "war on crime" policy was actually in Korea in the 1980s.
It is also true that the North Korean leader died a few weeks before the first summit.
i believe i saw somewhere that he took this role for that particular scene, If I remember it right, he saw his father like that(the changing clothes scene) when their mother passed, he took the opportunity to enact it through this episode. This episode broke me too even if it is expected what will happen to Ji Hee
Not Mr. Ryu mother. It was Mr. Ryu's brother-in-law & his elder sister. Mr. Ryu said he saw his father, a traditional Korean man, cried like that in both funerals. So he channeled that emotion to this sequence. He also joked that he didn't want his parents to watch this show because he was hurt so much. His younger sister told him later that his parents did watch the show, did totally freak out, but also appreciate his performance.
Dang i can't remember how many times i've watched guryongpo cry but it still makes me tear up haha

A lot of events in the show are actually real life incidents. Including the airplane blowing up that dooshik tries to stop. If I'm not wrong the infiltration this episode was real as well
Ryu seung ryong stated that the reason he decided to do this drama was that one exact scene.
Episode 13 is also a real incident committed by North Korea, "Gangneung Armed Airborne Infiltration Incident"
As expected, many Korean soldiers lost their lives in this incident

I normally don't cry easily in most emotional scenes but I found tears rolling down my face watching him grieving like this... I knew Achara was gonna cry a river in these scenes
Naju's daughter didn't die, the death was faked to protect her daughter. If you notice, at the funeral, there was Naju's daughter there.

The first time I met him in Miracle in Cell No. 7, he already make my heart ache and cries so much for him. He is indeed one of the versatile Korean actor.

Hey! I am Korean and I was eating my dinner while watching this episode. My dinner time was turned into a challenge that not to eat my tears.
The Best ending sequence in whole Moving Eps. Have you ever think when we start to watch the hero movie make us cry?? They made it!!!!! with a great acting from bottom of heart!!!!!

The killing point is that it is difficult for Jang Joo-won to change into funeral clothes at the funeral because of his military boots.
This is because the military boots were an item I received as a gift from the company commander for their “useful” during my first business trip.

그러나 장례식장에서 상복으로 갈아입는 것 힘든 것은 군화로 인해 자주 출장 갔기 때문에 지켜주기 어렵다는 것을 보여준다.
그리고 아내 황지희 씨가 냉동실에 삼겹살을 가득 채우는 모습은 남편과 함께 저녁을 먹고 싶은 마음을 고스란히 표현했다.
구룡표가 수색작전 이후 아내에게 라면을 끓여달라고 부탁한 이유는 수색작전 중 사망한 중대장을 기억하고 싶었고, 그 전에 중대장이 라면을 끓여준 적이 있었기 때문이다.

All the parents are the A-list actors in South Korea, i watch this ep probably more than 10 times and always cry 😄
The events depicted in this drama are based on real incidents. In this episode, a small submarine carrying spies gets stranded after getting caught in a fishing net of a fishing boat. Unable to cross over to North Korea via land, the submarine crew collectively chooses to take their own lives. The entire military was on high alert, and despite the deployment of numerous search teams, the specially trained spies displayed extraordinary combat and survival skills as they maneuvered through rough and dense mountains. Dozens of South Korean soldiers and many civilians lost their lives. In the end, it is speculated that a few special agents successfully crossed over to North Korea.

FYI, Ryu Seung-ryong who plays Jang Juwon on the series is rarely join series to play a role (because he preffered play roles on movies)
But after he read the script about the mourning scene for this episode, he decided to join the "Moving" series because he think that this scene is was putting his actor career on the line. Especially on the scene where Juwon change his Cloth into the mourn suit while breaking down.
