I'm 91. A Browns fan since 1946. I also saw the Cleveland Rams beat the Washington Redskins 15-14 to win the NFL Championship in 1945. Nice being this old!
A point about the 18 game schedule They used to play 14 regular-season games and 6 exhibition games But the thing is back then the starters played even into the fourth quarter of those exhibition games And even back then sometimes a sports writer would question the wisdom of that and the owners and coaches would say this; Fans bought a ticket they should get to see a real game My point being is players are not going to wear out any quicker under the 18 game schedule than they did under the old system
I'm 80 years old and have lived and died with the team. Remember watching the Browns on a little black and white TV. Yessir guys-- Otto Graham, Marion Motley and Lou the Toe. Nick Chubb best RB since Jim Brown. Leroy Kelly is close.
While I'm not quite the vintage of the OP, I completely agree that Chubb is the best Brown RB since Jim Brown. I saw all 3 play. Brown, Chubb, Kelly in that order.
I am 80 and have been a fan my entire life. Dante Levelli was my favorite player as a kid. My heart broke when they left and the new team is still my only team. My wife says I bleed browns colors
Born 1954 started watching 1960 with my grandfather - my favorite player was Jim Brown -season ticket holder in dog pound before it was the dog pound- Go Browns
1987 at age 6. I was mostly into cartoons and dinosaurs. Didn't care about sports yet. But my father was so into the Browns playoff run, it drew me in. That was the year of The Drive. Then the next year I was watching every game with him and we went through The Fumble together. Been riding with the Browns ever since. Looking forward to the payoff.
1969. Bill Nelson QB, Leroy Kelly RB, Bo Scott RB, Paul Warfield WR. The Browns were playing the Dallas Cowboys in the rain, the mud at old Municipal Stadium this was the first time I seen the Browns watching them on TV back in my old home town of Louisville, Ky. The outstanding uniforms. Simply the best. Go Browns 👍
I became a Browns Fan 73 years ago in 1951 when I was born because my late father was a Browns fan since day one in 1946. Of course it took me a few years to take it all in but I do remember the 1950’s Cleveland Browns especially Jim Brown back then. Jim Brown was like Superman to me as a kid. My family back then had to get me a sweat shirt with number 32 on it. I also remember other teams fearing having to play the Cleveland Browns being they were so good back then during the 50’s. What memories!
1986. The Browns were at home against Cincinnati. I’ll never forget that the smell of the lake seeing the dog pound for the first time seeing Bernie Kosar for the first time simply amazing. I’ve been a fan ever since go brownies.
Early 90s but I was born In Akron didn't really follow sports till I moved back to Ohio and in the winter time not much to do on Sundays while is freezing outside so I started watching the browns
Born a Browns fan but truly understood it when I was 11 and they moved the team. That's when I became the most passionate. When they came back in 99, there was nothing else but The Browns.
I was five in 1986 and I’d say that’s when I started paying attention. My dad’s a huge browns fan so I followed him. From boardman and Bernie practiced in our backyard when he was in high school. Our backyard butted up with their practice field
1986 First, right v after the 85 Bears truly captured my attention. My first coach was huge fan of the Browns. Thanks Coach Toops. Started my Fandom with the drive and the fumble.
64 years ago.... 1960 I've always supported the Browns and have never considered another team. Faithful to a fault as I've suffered through some very lean years. Love my Browns unconditionally!
1986 as a reward at a Cub Scout meeting, we each got to pick a rolled up poster out of a barrel. When I got home and unrolled my poster, it was Bernie Kosar. I stuck him on the wall above my bed and never looked back! 😄
Became a fan in "83. 80s was a fun time to watch the browns. The dawg pound was born. Created by Dixon and minnifield. Was at the game "the drive" was sad. Elway broke our hearts. But still, the browns in the 80s were good and fun to watch
I was born 1972 but in 1979 I began watching the Browns. And became a diehard in 1980...On January 3rd 1981 I attended my first game. The playoff game Oakland Raiders vs the Cleveland Browns in the famous red right 88. Sat in the blue bleachers now call the dawg pound. Yep 9 years old...So been a diehard.
I am the biggest fan since 1968. Still waiting for our Super Bowl time. I’m 70 years old and waiting for the day when we get to the Super Bowl. Go Browns!!
Became a Browns fan 8yrs old when my mom met my stepdad in 1983. Became a fanatic in 85’once I understood the game better and recieved my first Jersey (KOSAR). Edit: might have been O. Newsome. Got both for xmas.
I became a Cleveland Sports fan in 2015 after getting hooked by the Cavs making it to the finals and almost winning it all. Naturally I looked to the Indians and Browns to fill the void after that nba season ended. Ever since then, I’ve increasingly found myself more invested into the Browns than the other teams.
I became a Browns fan the same year I finally got into football - 1984! I turned 13 in November of that year, so I was a late football bloomer. I remember as a kid, I didn't want to waste my Sundays watching football, because I had to go to school the next day. I wanted to do something better with my free time. I went from ZERO in 1983 to ALL IN in 1984. What a quick turnaround!!! 😎
1979,I was 9 years old and started paying attention to football,I think people saying that they were BORN Brown's fan but come on you're first 5-6 years is learning the basics like potty-training,reading,stuff like that
Brown's fan since 1954, 5 years old. Their first NFL championship came in 1950, vs the Eagle's. Before that they were Champ's of the All American Football League, including a undefeated season. Go Browns.
I'm 51 years old and was born in buffalo ny and still reside here. I became a browns fan in 1993 right around the time buffalo blew four super bowls in a row and will never make it back
30 year old, have lived in San Antonio Texas my whole life, and have never rooted for anyone but the browns because my wonderful father from Mentor, OH raised me right and took me to the Alamo area browns backers each season. Losing was part of my DNA until the last 4 seasons and I’ve been loving the heck out of it
Can't call the exact year....I'm 45, so it was around The Fumble, The Drive......our back and forths with Houston.....I remember a flee flicker from Bernie to Slaughter that made me solidify my fandom.
Want to thank all the long time Browns fans i hope we see that SB win love all ya even if I've disagreed with you about certain topics or players HERE WE GO BROWNIES HERE WE GO WHOA WHOAH
I was born in 1965 and my grandfather was a browns fan My dad was a browns fan it just natural I'd become a browns fan My son's a browns fan but he's also a cowboy fan but we all can't be good we all can't be super good but I bet a browns fan live or die I want a super bowl before we die hahaha I'm 59 and I guess I started watching football when I was seven
I have been a Browns fan my whole life, watching games with my dad (I blame him for being a Die-Hard Browns fan). I would say I was born a Browns fan in 1960.
NFL came to the UK in 85. Didnt know who to follow, but my names Brown I lived in Cleveland UK, the rest is an agonising history, with wreck the house set fire to the curtains joy thrown in. Win or lose Im a Dawg!
Became a Browns fan in 1984. Watched them religiously from all over the globe. Member of 3 Browns Backer clubs over the years, and went to the very first game between Browns and Ravens in Baltimore. Quit supporting/watching the team and the NFL for approx. 3 years when they started kneeling for the National Anthem. I’m back as long as the NFL doesn’t go to woke on me again…😊
Born and raised in San Diego. Chargers moved to LA county, and we hate LA. We can’t root for anything in LA. I watched Browns on Hard Knocks and became a serious fan in 2019. We flew up to Cleveland last September and saw us beat the 49ers. Go Browns!
First, a game 18 means the salary cap must go up. Secondly, the league should consider adding more roster spots. Third, the players need to leverage an 18th game with increasing their share of the gross proceeds. The players take all the risk, so their share needs to grow. I would like to see the league at a second bye week for player health.
I became an browns fan in 99 when i was 11, i mean i knew of the browns before that, i mostly rooted for Brett Favre and the Packers, yes i know dont hate me but i guess i was a little too young to appreciate them, i only knew when they left Cleveland
I became a Browns fan in 1972 when my Gramma took me to my first Browns game at Municipal Stadium. They lost to Kansas City 31-7 and committed 8 turnovers.
What year did you become a Browns fan?
