Thank you sir for the video. My dad was one of those special few to wear a green beret. He was a Vietnam veteran and I always say thank you to all veterans I see and meet. He had a chance to Meet SSgt. Barry Sadler, the singer of that song. My dad died 2 years ago of cancer, sadly. But I always will remember him.
He died a horrific death, was jailed protecting his girlfriend from a ex, lived in Mexico after he was released. Honor him and all military and law enforcement to protect citizens and those opressed. I'm a military brat, who visited soldiers in Japan that were injured. Witnessed how our soldiers were treated upon their return from duty from Vietnam, which was so unbelievable so glad we Honor them now.
My Dad fell in Afghanistan. He was a Lieutenant in the German Bundeswehr.I have the greatest respect for all those who risk their lives - but it would have been a thousand times better if all these good men had never had to die.
I was living in Germany when this song came out. My dad was in the service. We had many green berets coming through training. Turns out the dude that wrote and sang the song shot a guy over a woman and planted a gun in the guys hand.
@@brendaisajiw3417 Proof? Google it. His Name is Barry Sadler. Google him and the ballad. My point was he was kind of the face of the Green Berets and turned out to be a bit of a douche
@@mythicsin3083 i googled it just now. He seemed to start out as a good man and he wasn't all to blame for what happened in these circumstances. Give the man some slack. He had an honorary discharge, had honorary metals galore and life happened which either through circumstances or mistakes he and others made. You don't seem to be looking at all the facts. This man was a human being not a total douche as you called him. Have a heart. You weren't there!
@@brendaisajiw3417 Well I was in Graphenwoehr Germany when the record came out and he toured the post. And the part of him shooting the guy, at the time that caught my attention was, yes this other guy was causing the issue but Barry shot him in the head when the guy was unarmed and then planted a gun. Then bragged about what a great shot it was. He was shot in South America. He treated poor medically which was wonderful and he started out as a hero to me so there’s that.

god bless the veterans who gave so much and many who are still suffering 💕
RIP, Sergeant Sadler.
Remembering all those men that died for our freedom from all countries that help liberate us from dictatorship ❤️
Studio recording is excellent 🎶🎵🎶 I'm Army Ranger Airborne, Respect to all Special Forces
it's sad that so many of your viewers weren't interested enough to even click on this.
They probably did but You Tube wiped them out. It's good at doing that to things they have an agenda with.
i always thank our veterans for their service and i thank the blue too !!!!
THIS MAN IS A TRUE ARMY GREEN BERET THAT IS THE BEST PART & { GOD BLESS AND I TRULY HOPE THAT YOU ARE FAMILY FRIENDS }

That young soldier wrote that song about the outfit he was in. This was during the Vietnam War.
This is why the Tam with badge should be special in the Army.
Love the song. Been a long time since I have heard it
SALUTE!
I love you so don't take this wrong, if we are a Native American tribe, I would call you yellow eyes. Or yellow face? You look amazing
