I thought that Justice League was fine; I didn’t love it, didn’t hate it, didn’t leave the theater exhilarated or feeling like I’d wasted time or money. With that said, the one moment that touched me was when Clark and Lois were reuniting and Lois told him that she fell apart when he died and that he’d have been ashamed of her. I lost my wife four years ago and have had that same thought go through my head many times. That line rang true to me and I immediately and unexpectedly choked up.
First off, my condolences, man. I cannot even imagine what that would be like. But that to me is a perfect example of how cinema can touch our hearts in that someone can instantly relate to that. I had a similiar experience watching Captain America WS and seeing Peggy Carter suffer from Alzheimers. Having had a relative go through that, I could instantly relate and I found myself tearing up.
Superman was so badass in the movie. My favorite part of the movie is when he beats up the team I couldn’t help but smile when Superman turns around and looks at Flash
The forced explanation of that stupid Injustice vision from BvS in Justice League doesn't make any sense. As Superman tells Batman that "she was my world and you took her from me" referring to Lois, meaning that Batman was somehow responsible for Lois's death and that's why Superman turned evil. If it was a simple case of Superman being confused after his resurrection then surely he would have snapped out of it eventually and just reunited with Lois. The way they try to explain it away in Justice League does not line up with BvS at all, and if it is the explanation then it makes Superman look even more like an unhinged psychopath then he was in BvS. So if Lois breaks up with him he'll destroy the planet? ... what a hero!
Your right she didn't which means Superman didn't decide to become the new Steppenwolf. Think about the future Vision Superman is working with Parademons and we see no sign of Steppenwolf. Clearly the Vision was never going to come true after BvS.
+TheDeadlysyns That makes absolutely no sense it's pure extrapolation with no basis on the information present within the film. The vision says Batman was responsible for Lois's death or her detachment from Superman, then the Flash says "Lois is the key". The Flash doesn't say "In your fight with Superman and Doomsday dont kill Lois for absolutely no reason". At no point was Batman targeting Lois as he was completely fixated on killing Superman the entire time. Also if that was the case then the future vision and the Flash warning would still have had no bearings on the Superman and Batman fight, as there was nothing that happened in that fight that was influenced by those "warnings". Batman stopped because of the Martha thing, he didn't stop because of Lois and also Lois wasn't in any danger as Batman was not threatening or attacking her. That vision was clearly hinting at something that happens in the distant future as the Flash was considerably older then he was during the time of Justice League.
Except your doing the same thing i just did to explain why i am wrong. Lois might not have been directly targeted by Batman but something could have happened that led to her Death. The Flash might not have had time it looks like he was struggling. Also just because we don't see Batman change something based on the Warning doesn't mean he didn't. Also Flash was older because he was his future version he didn't come back in time right after Superman turned it was years later.
I didn't understand why Bruce Wayne went out recruiting as himself. He,'s letting these complete strangers know he's Batman? And I know the filmmakers got burned by the backlash to all the death in MoS, but the seem to have gone I'm the opposite direction. Now every battle is in some abandoned area, no civilians to be found. In the Dark Knight, Spider-Man, Avengers films, civilians are always in danger and being saved. In Justice League, I don't feel real danger to the earth
This is how I personally rate the DCEU movies... if you disagree, opinions man. 1) Wonder Woman 2) Man of Steel 3) BvS 4) Suicide Squad 5) Justice League
I remember one week where they had a major movie and a Netflix show to talk about, and they split the time between them. I'm fine if they don't talk about Punisher this week, because it deserves its own episode. I'm more just trying to spark their memory, if they read these comments, so they don't forget about it.
Steppenwolf is by far the worst villain in the DCEU and might be one of the worst comic book movie villains I've seen in a while. Even though Loki motivation was very cliche, Tom Hiddleston's performance made the character fun to watch. Steppenwolf not only is boring, but I had NO IDEA what he wanted and why he wanted it. Honestly, I would rather have Eisenberg's Luthor or Leto's Joker over him.
Ironically, a movie with two directors felt like it had no director. Ironically, a movie with two composers felt like it had none. Also, they should’ve just shot the opening scene on Superman’s chest. They did that in Shazam and while it wasn’t amazing, it wasn’t polarizing. Also that whole “primitive weapon” comment when he catches a missile. The dude LITERALLY uses an axe as his main weapon.
I really relate with James on this, I know the movie is bad, I know none of it works...but I enjoyed it. I feel like this is how fans of Suicide Squad felt
when making the DCEU they should never had done Batman or Superman to start off with, its too repetitive. For Spiderman Homecoming, Marvel left out Uncle Ben, Spider bite and Oscorp/Osborn because its been done twice and everyone gets it. It also helped Spiderman being introduced in Civil War, so we didnt need the other stuff. DC should of done the same. one of the first scenes in BvS was young Bruce falling in the well with the bats, almost exaclty the same from Batman Begins, let it go DC!
The podcast comes out super early in the morning for me, so i always listen before going to school. When i saw this (after coming home from school) i actually thought:“ I’m sorry Mr Maso i forgot!“....in those exact words....i think i listen to podcasts too much....
Better "return of superman": Birthing chamber droid is seen digging up the last son of krypton in the middle of the night. Other droid sets up the fortress of soiltude, where kal-el is brought to recover. Batman also wants to bring him back, but finds the grave robbed! Superman comes back in black suit (of course) but is almost entirely de-powered. Final fight scene, they punch for a bit. Gets thrown about by Steppenwolf. The motherbox re-powers him and he kicks Steppenwolf's ass.
It's just my opinion, but I would have liked that rather than putting Josh Wheedon in charge of finishing the movie (aka reshooting Half the thing); Zack had accepted moving the release date and finished it himself, the thing everyone loved and remembered about the movie was the 'Everybody knows' montage, and that's clearly Snyder.
Justice league is far from perfect but i personally think it was a step in the right direction. Crap villain, weak story, mishmash pacing aside, there are great character moments with some really kickass action scenes. Remember the “just save one” scene. A perfect embodiment of humour and seriousness and what makes a hero a hero. In my opinion JL is not a great made movie but is good fun blockbuster flick worth seeing on the big screen
I think the movie version of the flash costume is stupid looking. He looks like a bird. I've always loved Grant Guston's suit...also he's the flash he doesn't need heavy metal gear to wear.
Super easy to swap Batman. Just have Multiverse option x replace him after flashpoint. I thought we figured this out already. The replacement would be younger and less murderous...
My first thought was having the Nightwing of that universe(assuming he exists) replace Affleck as Batman. Oops they said that like right after I made this comment.
Wings of Prophecy I reckon that would be better for a sequel tho maybe they should've done a strait new 52 origin for this movie cuz it would've made sense just add in superman's return and then u could do that easily. Also then Hal Jordan would've been smoothly introduced into it as well rlly loved his chemistry with batman at the start of that story.
While I prefer the cheerier version of Superman the change was so jarring, there should have been some sort of transition I think. Batman’s disposition in this film makes no sense, he’s gone from being bitter and angry all the time to being only sometimes bitter and angry but then happy and then bitter and angry again. He doesn’t make any sense is what I’m saying. Wonder Woman’s great though isn’t she?
Rogue One, Suicide Squad, now Justice League. The best shots are in the trailers, then deleted in the final. Bladerunner 2049's entire story and character development were all in the pre-released shorts. I swear the editbutcher execs are trolling us that we'll mentally copy&paste our excitement from the good scenes into the theatrical even if it's gone now.
I liked the film, but the worst bit was when everyone else is destroying parademons, and Batman can't even kill one. I mean, what???? Batman should be cutting through them!!!!
Firstly, I'm really annoyed, because I think I might have been in the same screening as Mr Sunday (considering how he describes the presentation and all) and I'm annoyed that I missed my chance to meet him in the flesh! Secondly, the part where the parademons turn on Steppenwolf would have been great if it wasn't just Pitch's death from Rise of the Guardians all over again. And thirdly, I thought it was going to turn out that Joker had killed Lex with laughing gas or something or like they said, was the real Lex Luthor. Was very disappointed to find out that it just meant Eisenberg Lex had escaped.
On they shouldn't have started with Snyder - remember, he was planning a Superman trilogy like Nolan did for Batman, he wasn't actually looking to establish the tone of a franchise for the DC stable. But WB seemed to see an opportunity and here we are...

I kinda liked Steppenwolf. They don’t give a lot about his character but if you pay attention to the context he is interesting. He seeks redemption for his past failure so he can return from his banishment and join the rest of the New Gods It seemed like they were setting him up for another movie
The problem is, there's like one line of it really. It's the same thing with Kacelius from Doctor Strange where his motivation is interesting in theory but is ruined with execution.
Fuck it how about they make nightwing batman at the end of his movie if Affleck don't wanna do it then they might as well make nightwing about him moving on and filling Bruce's shoes I'd love it.
Flashpoint Batman replacement. Easy. Matt Reeves Batman will be rolled into that continuity after Flashpoint fixes it, assuming it does well. As well as the good films like Wonder Woman and maybe Aquaman??
People campaigning for the snyder version are fans of the snyder films and vision like myself, just really seems they have more time to relax with the extended editions
Grimace was invented in a McDonald's promotion in 1973, they were advertising a new grape soda and wanted a mascot to represent it. He was originally supposed to be another "villain" character like Hamburglar, in fact he was going to be a partner in crime to Hamburglar, called "the Grapist". Note: this is all lies.

The way these guys bounce off of each other and their humor style just works so well
Hahaha I love every time Mason says an unrelenting and unforgiving immediate "no" 😂🤣
If Dwayne Johnson is saying he's going to save the video game-to-movie adaptation, did he forget he was in the very mediocre Doom back in '05?
Travis Lee Mediocre is too high of praise
The length of this podcast was longer than the movie
Keiron Graver daaaaammn
if there is a 1% chance that wolf have hand we have to take as an absolute certainty!!
kenthehobo 😂😂
THE WOLF HAD HANDS!!!!
James mate don’t worry so bloody much, your audio is perfect at delivering your buttery voices 👌🏼 keep up the good work
The Flash comes off as a poor man's Tom Holland Spiderman
Less so now
Batman was useless in JL. They basically turned him into the JL version of Hawkeye, but worse.
*"This movie is bad, but I had some fun, so it's good... But really, it's just kinda meh. Please don't hurt me."*

Superman was so badass in the movie. My favorite part of the movie is when he beats up the team

Nearly died at Nick's impression of Batman picking on Wonder Woman @1:25:00 LOL

1) Wonder Woman
2) Man of Steel
3) BvS
4) Suicide Squad
5) Justice League
I’d switch BvS and Justice League
My thoughts exactly. I think that is how everyone has ranked them now.
SSV Noble I thought I was the only one that didn’t hate man of steel!
Man of Steel was fine. I honestly didn't mind the ending. Justice league is still my second favourite. I'm hoping it gets an extended cut.
I don’t think Justice League is worse than Suicide Squad
Obviously, I haven't heard the episode yet, but I don't see Punisher in the topics list. I hope that gets the main topic slot next week.
Kratos x23...agreed. Punisher!!!
Yeah, if they talked about both this week though the podcast would be way too long I guess

It's not a bank, it's the Old Bailey, a famous law court in London. You might remember the Lady Justice statue on top from V for Vendetta
Isn’t a wolf with hands a werewolf?
canijustplease mind blown!
Isn’t a wolf with a Steppen a steppenwolf?
1:34:00 Holy crap, I totally forgot that I sent that tweet in. And, here we are 4 1/2 years later with the Snyder Cut. What a world, what a time.
"Maybe he wants another Robin" omg that's my head canon now
can Wolf With Hands be the official mascot of the Weekly Planet Pod?!?
lol because of you guys I'm getting an Australian accent. love you guys.
Mr.Milton and I thought it was only me
Wolf fight was hilarious like when the wolfs foot steps forward out of the shadow and it's clearly a fake wolf leg on a stick 😂
Batman idea to bring back superman is the second stupid idea, Frist being supermans CGI mustache.
I’ve never laughed so much at a podcast, i love you guys so much
Affleck loves the Batman character but hates what Snyder did with him. So do most people. I feel sorry for Affleck.
No... he LOVES Snyder. He hates what WB did to him and Snyder.
@@nicholas.alan85 HELL YES!

Superman Bland flavored Pringles is what I come to this podcast for!!!!

didn’t think JL was a greeat but it was overall fun. weird mix of dark snyder vision + quippy lighthearted wheedled
They said the bomb was going to blow up "4 city blocks" not that there were 4 bombs. The bomb they had was going to do that amount of damage.
"Some kind of chicken... competition." I really want to know what nature of horrible thing that would be.

1:00:00 a one sentence summary of how the DCEU failed before it started.
Punisher is amazing
I’m on episode 2 and I agree it’s off to a good start for me
Marathon it with the wife and it doesn't drop the ball, starting my second watch through, keeping my eye out for Easter Eggs
Best interpretation of frank yet. I'm even counting most of the comics. (This punisher would never try to kill spidey)
Best justice league comic is the first volume of grant Morrisons JLA with the hyperclan
Sweg yo Sweg indeed it was, and an adaptation of that would have been far more interesting in film.
Wings of Prophecy I reckon that would be better for a sequel tho maybe they should've done a strait new 52 origin for this movie cuz it would've made sense just add in superman's return and then u could do that easily. the weekly planet the weekly planet
Flash running hurt my feelings. The flailing of the arms man...
The only time I cared for any league member was when steppenwolf grabs Flash and I was scared he was gonna kill him but he just threw him.
I swear I thought they were gonna introduce Lex Luthor’s recast in the cell reveal.
It would have been funny and weird but I would accept it
TheGrimStride 😂😂 I did too!!
Rogue One, Suicide Squad, now Justice League. The best shots are in the trailers, then deleted in the final. When MVMT produces a watch with the Weekly Planet Pod Logo featuring Mr Sunday and Mason on it, I’ll get one. But inly if the band comes in purple.
"that happens, ... but it doesn't happen 4 times in the space of a day". ...
new mantra.
I liked the film, but the worst bit was when everyone else is destroying parademons, and Batman can't even kill one. I mean, what???? Batman should be cutting through them!!!!
My favourite scene was whe Aquaman had the lasso of truth around him by accident, cracked me up
But I had fun with it!
oh my god im dying James after that Silmarillion comment 🤣
Firstly, I'm really annoyed, because I think I might have been in the same screening as Mr Sunday (considering how he describes the presentation and all) and I'm annoyed that I missed my chance to meet him in the flesh! Secondly, the part where the parademons turn on Steppenwolf would have been great if it wasn't just Pitch's death from Rise of the Guardians all over again. And thirdly, I thought it was going to turn out that Joker had killed Lex with laughing gas or something or like they said, was the real Lex Luthor. The editing in Justice League was frustrating... SO MANY JUMP CUTS! Did the camera ever pan around a scene or zoom in and out???
No black suit!? No mullet!?
No moustache?!
Why couldn't they just give him a beard, that way he can keep the mustache and then just have a fake beard.
I think this franchise needs to stop.
It might literally end the Superhero genre.
If half of the movies of a genre that is already burning people out are mediocre, it probably won't last long.

listening while waiting for snyder cut podcast loooool
Spot on with your justice league comments, unfortunately... but fortunately fun listening to your discussion 😃
01:07:11 If there are very tiny elephants in it, I'm seeing it!
Coming back to pre-covid episodes as someone who found this during is so odd.
Fuck it how about they make nightwing batman at the end of his movie if Affleck don't wanna do it then they might as well make nightwing about him moving on and filling Bruce's shoes I'd love it.
OH MY! I LOVE X-FACTOR, and Madrox is so cool ahh! It will be fun to see Franco playing him
1:48:50 The grimace shake
The dude at the beginning is supposed to Emill Hamilton I think. Bc the same dude is held hostage when steppenwolf is looking for the motherbox.
Discussion on JL begins at 34:21
I was looking for you
Thank you. 4 minutes of ad read at the beginning had me ready to turn it off.
Flashpoint Batman replacement. Easy. Matt Reeves Batman will be rolled into that continuity after Flashpoint fixes it, assuming it does well. As well as the good films like Wonder Woman and maybe Aquaman??
Wolf with Hands is way more funny than it should be.
Somehow, listening to this, makes me really wanna watch the movie.
Don't. It's not even bad enough to inspire any emotion. It's just terrible.
I would rate it as the second best DC movie. After Wonder Woman. About as good as age of Ultron as far as enjoy ability.
Hey guys - Just a sound thing... your reverb is a bit too overwhelming in this mix. Maybe bring the wet signal down or shorten the decay? Both?
Please watch the Punisher and do a full review for the podcast. It is definitely the best Netflix Marvel series.
I want a wolf with hands movie
12:44
18:45
wolf, american werewolf in london, ginger snaps, dog soldiers, the wolfman, the howling, silver bullet, wolf cop, teen wolf... take your pick.
People campaigning for the snyder version are fans of the snyder films and vision like myself, just really seems they have more time to relax with the extended editions
"Relax" is the last word I would ever use to describe Snyder's films, even the ones I actually like.
Mmm the true origin of Monthbious
They didn't imply that Clark went back to the Daily Planet though, did they? We just saw him in civilian ripping off his shirt changing.
Im just here for the DC fanboy hate/justification comments lol 🍿
Didn't watch any trailers before seeing it and this was one of my favourite movies.
Grimace was invented in a McDonald's promotion in 1973, they were advertising a new grape soda and wanted a mascot to represent it. He was originally supposed to be another "villain" character like Hamburglar, in fact he was going to be a partner in crime to Hamburglar, called "the Grapist".

Can you fucking imagine if DC tried to make a live-action movie about Man-Bat?
I sure typed "fucking" alot.
So when is the limited physical copy of this?
Ps. did Mason ever get his big sandwich?
"where's The Silmarillion set again?"
would've fixed the movie if they had just digitally added the mustache in the scenes that weren't reshot.
Some good ol horse punching 🐎👊
