The situation at Oregon State for Smith was unique! He had a genuine story to tell recruits and many bought in! His OSU story will not resonate with midwest recruits! In addition, he is a flat boring guy. Perhaps if he were more dynamic or charismatic recruits may listen. The Oregon State story is chute but he didn't exactly take them where MSU wants to go!
The recruiting is downright atrocious but even worse is the play calling oh my God LMFAO and this is the play calling Jonathan Smith thinks is okay or is going to even get us into the top half of the Big ten he's an absolute joke and needs to be fired immediately. The offensive coordinator and Coach have to go if this is the offense they want to run it's atrocious. They don't make any adjustments in game it's hard to watch
Coach is not hungry enough. Should have gave an opportunity to a young newer coach with a lot to prove. Similar to what the lions did with Dan Campbell
SMITH NEEDS TO GO! SAID FROM DAY ONE HE WAS NOT THE PICK WE NEEDED TO REVAMP THIS PROGRAM AND ITS SHOWING!! LACKLUSTER PERFORMACES EXPECT IOWA HES OUT OF HIS LEAGUE
Smith looks like a stale piece of toast out there. When they lose games that they should have won he should be really on it. He came for the check I think. This is a job for him and all he has to do is just coast along
Really, emotion is the criteria necessary requirement to be a goog HC? I will take a HC that is a great evaluator of talent, recruiter, player developer, motivator, and game strategist. Saban and Dantanio were not coaches that showed much emotion. Given Smith a chance to develop a relationship with HS coaches in the Midwest before kicking him to the curb.
@ not tryna kick him to the curb but he needs to do more, the play calling has been terrible Chiles cleaned up his turnovers some but the play calling on offense is bad, and Dantonio did show emotion his smug alone was emotion 😂
Coach Smith has been here 1 year. As much as i love msu football its not an attractive commitment for recruits right now. Give Smith some time and it will get better
@patrousseau1828 idk, man. The whole program has no passion or life. I really blame the AD, the BOT, and the president. The fact they have the 2nd worst recruiting class in the big ten should be unacceptable
@@jamesadamo7867 it was bad also after John L Smith left. took a minute but the wait was worth it. there are no miracle fixes with money and hype. with this new coach my focus is on the offensive line. the key to this program will be similar to the Lions success. the O-line has a good coach with proven success. the cupboard wasn't bare either. go green!
Johnathan smith has never been a great recruiter but he finds diamonds in the rough and turns them to gemstones. Just like Dantonio. Everyone needs to get there fingers out of their bootys and relax.
Pretending like Johnathan Smith is gonna go Dantonio 2011-2015 turning all 2 and 3 stars into top players and year after year MSU again competes for big ten championships is just hilarious 😂
Geez, if a player is ranked in the 1,000s (like several in this class are) they BETTER be "scheme fits", "have the grades" and "have good character".
Might just have to tune out. It's like they aren't even trying
@jamesadamo7867 and now Bryce Underwood just flipped to Michigan. State is beyond irrelevant now.
@@Jon.A.Scholt I can't do it anymore. If they dint care why should we?
@@jamesadamo7867 you shouldn't; hard to find a reason. Time has come to just admit MSU is a basketball school. Hockey is good this year too

That’s not Jonathan Smith though

I’ve seen kayd coffman play twice this year and I don’t see the vision
Gotta open the check book get a coach who actually has emotion
Nope. Or simply attack the transfer portal and get quality game changers. He’s doesn’t have Oregon State’s players here

And Chiles is the same from the first game he played to the last. Still fucking up and smith lets him

Portal sucks...
no quick fix. prepared for Chiles in year 3. I believe he stays and develops, as long as NIL secured, and leads a big season. takes a minute at MSU.
There is no NIL.
@@jamesadamo7867 pretty sure he's paid very well through a NIL deal. highest paid student athlete at MSU.
