A total loss. Won games when we gave up 3+ turnover a game to start. Became a flat team. Proved it week again and again at the end, gave up everything. I feel bad for the running backs who seemed to want to win over and over again. Smith better wake up or time to start over again.

The reason why we don't have depth is because of Mel Tucker. Its going to take Smith and his coaches a couple of years to build that depth back. I want to know why podcasters and sports writers won't say what went on in the Tucker era besides the Brenda Tracy debacle. Are they afraid of being sued? Was it really that much worse?

@YTSparty Michigan State is going to have a hard time recruiting for a long time regardless of coaching hires, sure some coaches might attract slightly better than others but you have to look at Michigan State as a whole. MSU has been plagued with sexual assault allegations and cases for about a decade now between former players, Larry Nassar, and now Mel Tucker. It took Penn State years to rebound in recruiting after Joe Paterno’s coverup of sexual misconduct was revealed. On top of that, there was a shooting a few years ago, Michigan State’s academics a worse than nearby schools such as Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Northwestern, and Illinois. East Lansing is in a very rural area that doesn’t offer much to do outside of Detroit which UofM is closer to, and Michigan State’s funding is much less than those schools too. I’m a Sparty fan but there are a bunch of things even outside of football that’s scares off potential recruits let alone MSU is now in a stacked conference with multiple programs with deeper pockets, more recourses, and a better promise of success. As much as I want to blame everything on Smith, he’s only a small part of everything that is going to take years to correct

Matt, Smith banked all those visits for the season. How many official visits came to East Lansing during the season? Didn’t seem like there was very many. Some teams get 24+ a weekend.

Here’s the deal college sports is no longer the college sports that we all know it has become pay to play and what are they do that’s professional they’ve turned college sports into something that no one wanted. Recruiting means nothing because it’s all turned to the dollar is there an NCAA anymoreI’m not sure, but that used to be one of the no-no in recruiting offering prizes and money so Kelly sports will never be the same again that’s the reason why I don’t watch anymore.

Bowl game is an absolute must if you want to call the season a success, especially with how dreadful recruiting is (and dreadful is being kind). The path to success in the future is extremely murky given how bad (absent) NIL is to go along with the worst recruiting class in the Big Ten

I think if Sparty jumps into an early start like in the Purdue game, MSU will hang on to win. But if it's close or we're trailing at the half... Knights beat Sparty. Obviously it'll be a bummer to miss a bowl for 3 straight seasons... But at this point, I think growth from Chiles, Velling, Ramil and getting better defensively is a win for me for next season. And maybe getting an RB to be excited about.

Fears got 13 4 and 6 against arguably the best back court in the country. 30 of his 32 minutes were great, the potential for Fears is so high especially when you consider he is less than a year out for a catastrophic injury. His athleticism I still not where it was a year ago. Love this young group of guys! MSU is back!

This game was an absolute gut wrencher. It took me two hours to finally wind down and go to sleep. This game went through so many stages, it was maddening. When we Pi$$ed away that 7 point lead at the end and ended up in OT I thought we would just collapse and lose. However they just kept battling back defensively, and on the boards. Booker looked to have somewhat of a coming out party. He played well in the paint , and we finally prevailed. I was an absolute wreck but happy with one of the few times we have prevailed against these jerks. Leets keep coachin them up and improving!

One think I’ve been very impressed with this year compared to last year is the lineups. Last year I think we can all agree the lineups were not great where as this year I haven’t complained once.

I gotta admit....I thought 0-3 was very possible after how they looked the 1st 5 games but Maui got me believing this could be a good team after all. Starting to really see why Izzo loves Fears so much, keep the 3 guard line up going and hope Booker finally breaks out

The Booker stuff was ridiculous. Fans are so impatient with young players and MSU fans are doing it with Booker (Just like Izzo does with young players). He needs expierence, he wasnt in the rotation most of last season aside from spot minutes here and there. The kid was a 5 star recruit for a reason.
