I wish you would put chapters in your videos so I can quickly go to the states I'm interested in instead of having to guess where each subject starts and stops.

Grew up in Seattle. We would tell people that we don't tan, we rust.
We said the same thing in Portland Oregon
Gang I was born and raised in Washington
I still live here, it’s stupid expensive.

In Seattle people live their lilly white lives and look down on everybody else and call them racist. A wall should be thrown up across the western 1/3 of the state.
I appreciate your videos Briggs, they bring to light more truth than what most say! Plus I love ur sense of humor! Thank you!
I had a few negatives in regards to Seattleites. The natives aren't warm but they are not rude either. Overall, it was an easy town to make it in. I was surprised on how dark it was during the winter.
You’re excellent at your work. Great voiceover, useful information, humor and kindness. Love this 🔥
Awesome! Almost 2 hours of content! Thanks Briggs!
Bellingham is half way to Seattle and Vancouver, B. C. Same weather as Seattle. 50 miles from Mt. Baker and the Canadian Rockies. Sort of an extended suburb.
The Seattle Freeze doesn't have to do with friendliness...it's more along the lines of having a conversation with someone at a party and someone says "We should get together sometime to do activity x" and never hearing from that person
Probably depends on age group. How can you make friends when face buried in cell whole time. If anything rude.
Idk about that, that's pretty normal everywhere. It's more of a "polite" conversation piece or a farewell than it is a plan
Real boots on the ground info, not just stats and projections like so many others. Broadens the oerspective. Many thanks!
1:19:14 Funny enough Briggs. I live in Montana in a town that you ranked one of the worst towns. I don't mind it. My kids hate it. You can walk around the whole town in a circle in 20 minutes. We live very close to the reservations I grew up on the reservation. I think one of the saddest things is for the people who are on dialysis. They have to get up. I think the bus leave around 4:00 in the morning to take him to Billings. I believe it's approximately 125 miles just to get to Billings. That's an all-day event. Both the reservations that we live next to neither of the hospitals deliver babies anymore. Which I think is sad for the culture, but it leaves Billings to be the only place close by that you can actually have a baby. You once mentioned that Billings has the highest rate of depression or something close to that. It's because all the local rural areas send their depressed people there. The psych ward's there. And none of the rural areas really have the treatment programs for alcohol or drug. So you have to send them all to Billings and then Billings in school then they send them out. It's kind of rough. And you can always tell first Year of a person being here. Because they're the first ones in the winter. Because usually the first ones off the road when it snows.. We did just get a new clinic. The new skate park. But we did lose one clinic. And they shut down dairy Queen. Due to poor management
I’m from New Orleans and your list about Louisiana is spot on. 😢
😢
UGH...... Still at work, will watch when I get home........
I will retire in Santa Fe, New Mexico one day the land of enchantment.
I was given a t-shirt it says Washington rain festival: January through December😊
Move to Phx and see how much you love hot weather, clogged roads, lots of sun, crime and gangs.
@@jacklong7048 I attended sales conference for a publisher back in the 1980s. One was Southern Florida in August.😱 The other was Scottsdale, Arizona in May. Scottsdale won hands down over Flo- rida... Are future one was Chicago in January ❄️❄️❄️😱❄️
I would never move back to N.Y.
Bro the taxes should be the number one reason to not move to new jersey
Love all ya do Briggs. And keep throwing in history facts, I've learned some stuff I didn't know. Like how Portland Oregon got its name. Boston Oregon sounds weird. 🍻
Hooray! Another long video. I like these type of videos so I know where not to move. Thanks for such great content!!
Idaho closing roads in snow, we aren’t foreign to that at all in CA lol our mountains get as much or more snow and we don’t all live in SF/SD/LA or Central Valley
We moved from NJ to WV and couldn't be happier!! ❤❤
Great information! 👍😊👍 Thank you so much, Briggs! 🫶
When I lived there (Missouri), folks nicknamed it Misery...
Seattle almost became San Francisco but no it did not happen. I feel great about the future of Seattle and WA areas.
Cool video , packed with facts ❤🎉
Good analysis Briggs, accurate and agrees with my experience there (Washington [state].
Great work, very interesting indeed!
Do you have a ranking of all 50 states in the US?
Having a large white population isn’t a bad thing. I’m white but in today’s climate IMO the term diversity has been replaced as no whites wanted. To me we are all Americans but obsessing over diversity or lack of isn’t important to me. I don’t talk up or down to anyone. And I’m not to blame for anyone but myself. I’m also a conservative and since it was mentioned in the vid I see that as a positive for a state. Others don’t and that’s fine.
I agree , less crime too

You were very polite about Arkansas... it's like living in the 70's here and Healthcare is used like a form of financial blackmail. "You need to go to x, then, y, then z, before we can treat you", rather than just getting on with getting you fixed.
Same in WA STATE. The Health Care system is broken, and "My Chart" is fraudulent since statements made are frequently deleted. So, there is no record of actual communication between
"doctor" and patient.
Funny how people complain about humidity in summer in Arkansas.. I live in south Florida and to me summers in Arkansas feel like a spring 🤣🤣
I went to Florida once in April. Never again. I couldn't even breathe. I ran back to my New England ice cave so fast.
Yeah but there's stuff to do in FL
@realitgatz if hiding in air condition
I lived in the Bay Area for 20 years. Seattle traffic is a breeze comparatively
I lived and worked in the Philippines 4 yrs. Manila traffic makes traffic in LA, Seattle, New York, etc. look very tame.
Once again, Arkansas, good analysis...
Quite an interesting video
Arizona. It's hot there's not a lot to do unless you live in the bigger cities rent is pretty unaffordable
Ahhhhh, haven't seen your face before. Like reading a book to going to a movie, I had my own image.
Missoula, MT, was normal, but also an easy drive down US-12 into Idaho is beautiful
I'm originally from the NYC Area of Tax Jersey. I joined the military and never went back. I never will. I moved to the DFW Area in TX when I left the military and retired here debt free. That's hard to do in Tax Jersey. If that state could find a way to tax you for going to the bathroom, they would. In addition to taxing damn near everything, they have the highest property tax rates in the nation. The people and crime aren't really bad when you get out of the cities. Places like Newark, Paterson, Trenton, Camden, Atlantic City, etc., really suck but there are some great small communities down the shore and in the middle North and Northwestern part of the state. This video is spot on why people leave NJ. Between taxes, cost of living, and the weather, it's a brutal state for retirees. Here in Texas, I haven't shoveled snow in decades and I don't miss it. The only time I go back to Tax Jersey is to visit family members for special events. That's not likely to change.
Shore sucks to asbury park
@@WORKSbaby True, but you get to places like Egg Harbor and Manahawkin and it's pretty cool. Of course, you're getting taxed to death, but that's Tax Jersey!
I had to live in northern New Jersey for seven years. For me, it was like doing time in prison. The culture, the people, the attitude, etc. etc. just did not work for me at all.
@@1massboy I get it.
True, traffic is a bitch all around and in the city, Seattle. Rain, no biggie.
Oh my gosh! My friend in Tech school, We were in the Air Force, was from Pine Bluff Arkansas! She took me there long ago and I thought it was a great place. But that was 1975.
Louisiana, I agree with your review. However, their state parks are extraordinary!!
Nevada, first few months living there, I agree, but found parties and casinos were fun. It really got interesting discovering caves and hunting even better, but started parachuting and was unlimited fun...
I like your play on the original "Got it? Good. Get it" LA ad from the 80"s. I think it was a car ad. Not sure. Anyone remember?
It kinda bugs me; I always hear it as a misquote of "Get it? Got it. Good." originally from the movie The Court Jester with Danny Kaye; also from the Mel Brooks movie The Producers. It doesn't make sense the way Briggs says it, because it's supposed to be a dialogue between two people. 1st person asks the 2nd: "Get it?" 2nd person responds: "Got it." 1st person responds: "Good."
I’m absolutely amazed that you remember pop rocks, something from the 60’s if I remember ( ? )
Pop rocks candy was first sold in 1976, discontinued by General Foods in 1983, and after that, Kraft Foods licensed the Pop Rocks brand to Zeta Espacial S.A. which continued manufacturing the product under Kraft's license. Eventually, Zeta Espacial S.A. became the brand's owner and sole manufacturer. Pop Rocks is distributed in the U.S. by Pop Rocks Inc. (Atlanta, Georgia) and by Zeta Espacial S.A. (Barcelona, Spain) in the rest of the world. You can still buy them. There was also an episode of the tv show Mythbusters about them.
This is a great nuanced take on things I think.
Im in pa and i think its goid we have strict laws no squatter rights illegal get arrested and deported we have low crime except in bigger cities
I would personally like to see comparison videos like between California and Washington. If I was interested in moving from California to Washington state, what are pros and cons? Or like pick a state that lots of people are leaving and the state most popular that those people are moving to. Pros and cons.
Briggs has done a few videos that are definitely like what you’re describing. Check out his video tab and sort by popular. 👍
If snow were bullshit, you'd be a blizzard
Youre a much more handsome version of Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys! 👌🤣
Bubbles is a character that's supposed to look goofy. Mike Smith who plays him is actually fairly good-looking. He was pretty cute back in the day when he played guitar with his band Sandbox.
Your a class act Briggs.
LIGO research in Livingston, LA is interesting
just checking where Louisiana ranked. Still love living here and will never leave. Also Louisiana has lots more than New Orleans. Lafayette is pretty great ⚜
Thanks for New Mexico coverage. I think those 66% want outsiders to stay that way.
I think one of the bigger problems of why California got so expensive is because they over regulated production of new construction so it depleted the amount of new homes being built. This also goes for multifamily. For example Texas has remained pretty affordable despite having a crazy influx of new people moving here same thing with Florida. How can they do that when Cali can’t? Different policies around real estate and new business. I would recommend folks not live in a bubble and actually research this stuff. California is beautiful and people move there but it’s not a normal situation to compare the cost of living going up in tiny Idaho where they can’t keep up the supply for the overall demand. Not the same thing
So then explain many other states. Some just love every chance to dump on CA. If you want to blame, how about all these investors who swoop in before any locals have chance. Ban that!!! And maybe look at foreign ownership, didn't Canada do a one year moratorium. Many tired of reach taking over everything...
Florida is not affordable in many parts. If you want the lifestyles of the Keys, South Florida and SW Florida, especially around Naples, Bonita Springs, Miami, Palm Beach area, and Marco Island, you will be paying $$$$. If you want to be on the water, it's $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. At least in Florida if someone tries to be a squatter on your property, the Sheriff's Dept. won't play games.
My daughter had to leave Florida because it's getting so outrageously expensive but the wages are still low.
Thanks a lot for all those statistics...enjoy your relationships...
Abdenasser Boulay 🎉🎉🎉❤🎉🎉🎉family peacemakers...
Enjoy camping in Idaho. Moscow was just a college toen, but Lewiston, just down the hill, is more interesting...
Looking for a place to live with warm weather. I'm a Van Driver (transport railroaders) BNSF, UP, CN, KCS, & CXS.
When you said you tried pop rocks and soda after your first girlfriend broke up with you (2:48 ish)... I have not laughed so hard in Years. Thanks!!
No question Seattle winters are dreary. It's made up for in the summers which are hard to beat
Same for the Willamette Valley (Portland to Eugene). I knew a woman who moved to Eugene from LA. She arrived at the beginning of the rainy season for college and was sad about it. When summer arrived, she said now she got it. That was nearly 20 years ago and I understand she's still here.
I’m a current Michigan resident. I’m debating a move to either South Dakota or Ohio. What are the pros and cons to each state?
Why you don’t like Michigan? I’m thinking of moving there?
@@jessicagriffin5920, I’ve lived in Michigan most of my life. My family loves it, but we’re a big outdoors family and living in a rural area near Lake Huron allows us plenty of access to hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking. But, it’s an hour drive to the closest city, two hours to the closest minor league sports teams, and three hours to a professional sports team.
Detroit has a bad reputation but it’s pleasant enough to visit. Grand Rapids area is beautiful, and northern Michigan is an outdoors paradise.
@@davemarks1965 Clearly you ignore all the issues the state has because you live in the best part of the state. The majority of the population is in SE MI which is riddled with issues
Well if you like no people and nothing but low rolling hills South Dakota has your number. I was shocked at how beautiful southern and eastern Ohio are in comparison to the rest of the State. If I was leaving god forsaken Indiana today it would be for Northern Michigan or Western Washington.
@davemartin moving for sports teams ? 😳😳😳
Southwest have direct flights from Las Vegas where I live to Little Rock when I am from. Allegiant have direct flights from Las Vegas to the North West Arkansas Airport that is in Bentonville for Northwest Arkansas area. The other Airlines, you have to go to a major city like from Las Vegas to Denver then to Little Rock or NW Arkansas Airport.
You can always go through my hometown of Texarkana! 🫣😂😂😂
@@chrisbankhead9669 oh ok!
The Seattle area does at times have traffic issues. But that is because people are patient and don't like to yield the right of way. And are in too much of a hurry. Where I live in kennewick or eater WA this is a problem as well. My advice if you travel in the Seattle area is to use public Transit. It's cheap and a good system. And at least you can sit on the bus or whatever and get some work done while you are waiting in traffic.
let’s go ..new video , just watching briggs top 10 reasons to NOT move places
I moved from western Washington 9 years ago. The reasons were weather, cost of living, and tragic and crowds. I sure miss the food though. But despite the negatives, Seattle is a fantastic city.
Describing Seattle is like describing Denver. Same issues. Tired of Big City living, it is not worth it.
❤❤❤😮😮😮😊😊😊 Briggs this is Great ❤❤❤
Kansas City was interesting (ie. Nelson-Atkiins Museum, historic Train Station )
..what's that merch behind you? are those crisps?
Look out y'all it's time again.
Coming from up north in Canada, would you cover a major under covered issue on the West Coast? In Canada we have the "Highway of Tears", with an absurd amount of missing and murdered Indigenous women. It's become a national issue here. Can you look at the Pacific NW and see if there's a similar issue of both a proportional spike in missing persons and murder cases for Indigenous Americans and a broader lack of concern by law enforcement in the area, like we're seeing?
Thank you, Briggs.
Very welcome
@WorldAccordingToBriggs due to health reasons I need to move to a warmer climate. I live in iowa, I love it here but my joints hate it lol
@@taraizedI understand that! Arthritis is awful! I really liked Albuquerque, NM… maybe Tucson. There’s a few great cities that will be better with health issues. I’d definitely suggest the southwest. 💯👍

In Louisiana, vote early and vote often (been a common saying for too long). That is part of the perception of political corruption in the state.
West Virginia; Harpers Ferry is nice
Please! SEATTLE is not Washington. I have lived all around this state for over 70 years, including Seattle. Most of the state is quiet ,beautiful loving and fun. Look beyond the Seattle area. P.C
A lot of people outpriced in Hawaii have moved to Nevada.
It’s not just the prices it’s the lack of everything
wow! It is true! When I think of Montana and Wyoming.... I think of them having more cows than people....lol
I’m ok in Nebraska
I’ve met some nice people from Nebraska, but I can’t imagine why anybody would move there. Apparently neither can anybody else.
@@timthompson8297 I moved from a big city. I’m tired of people because of majority of them are assholes. I wanted to move into a country where it’s quiet where I can listen to nature be with my wife and my dog not be around assholes all day long.
@@dormandavis2767 You must have quite an acreage around you. I remember wishing I lived in the country, and then hearing from various friends about how awful it was to hear neighbours drag-racing past their house at all hours day or night, smelling the stench of manure-spreading on neighbouring farms, having to deal with dumb teens who thought smashing mailboxes was the height of comedy and a fun thing to do repeatedly, etc. I guess I'm better off where I am.
@@squeekycat that’s in the city. It’s sooooo quiet here. I drive a school bus and the kids are well mannered. They don’t flip you off like they do in the city.
😂Get off the interstate look around...and say keep driving I can hold it!!!!😂😂😂
Idaho is Appalachia moved out west.
Can someone explain to me why several areas in New Jersey smell like crap 💩 like I don’t mean to talk bad about the state but why does it smell like that??
Wa state was not devastated by the eruption. The blast zone was pretty small and the ask didn't "devistate" the state.
I left Washington because of the insane cost of living and real estate costs. The median house price for what we needed was about 950k
We bough a house in Michigan for what we needed for 320k in one of the nicer more expensive cities in MI
Briggs, granted the costs of coping with the homeless can seem overwhelming. That's because: A - The VA isn't doing its job and is constantly underfunded B. If we had universal health care and an American solution instead of state solutions, we could see real progress.
We would have many fewer honeless people if jobs were more available and paid a living wage, housing was available and more affordable and we had more mental health and addiction services available to help get them off the street, if not permanently, then long term
I live in NYS yes taxes were high until I became 65 having an enhanced star dropped them by 75%. Not moving now.
Is there a maximum income qualification for this program? I live in Alaska and the borough we live in gives us a $258,000 property tax exemption for anyone over 65. Homes are fairly reasonable with a small ranch borough appraisal of about $300,000. Usually real estate valve is 25% more.
@@Chris_at_Home yes there is $34,700 I believe
I had an LOL moment when I realized you have more subscribers than some entire state's populations :-)
Hey briggs
I need a 100 reasons not to be a browns fan list haha. Go ravens!
Moved to Seattle metro back in 1973. I finally had to move this year because crime, drugs, homelessness, taxes and much more is really bad and getting worse. Blue run states are deteriorating.
You do voice over work?
Taos and Santa Fe are nice in New Mexico.
Nice to visit . That’s all
Louisiana is objectively worse than 7th place. That said, I literally watched this video just to see where (not if; where) Louisiana was on this list. The only good thing to do in Louisiana is leave. lol
Louisana has a lot of Alligator's.
You don't mention Bellevue, mostly 1.2 to 6 million is average.
I doesn’t flood in Seattle.
We heard that about pop rocks because there was a young boy that did actually die from eating pop rocks and drinking soda, he choked if i remember correctly.
That never actually happened. General Foods spent a lot of money and effort trying to counteract that story. Mythbusters the tv show had an episode proving it was not possible, you can see the show on youtube. I just watched it again recently.
People in Idaho don't have a problem with eastern Oregon its western Oregon that they hate.
A cheap and safe location and hour from a beach
There is so much you get wrong on Seattle but I am okay with you pushing for people not to move there because I want the housing prices to drop so I can move back. You like to talk about cost of living but you never talk about how much more people are paid in Seattle. I worked as a Paraprofessional in Seattle and earned 27.54/hour. That same job in Indiana is 12.00/hour. Any person that is self motivated and willing to work will make enough money to live a good life in Seattle. People here in Indiana are now working 2-3 jobs just to pay the monthly bills. I know you don't like the politics of Seattle but here in Indiana we have Conservatives bragging about how they haven't read a book since high school like that is a good thing. The anti-liberal media echo chamber is so enormous and a part of everyday life here. There are signs everywhere saying save our farms from Solar but don't even realize China is buying up all the farmland anyway. Anyway please pump the anti-Seattle hype, anything to lower housing cost so a newly retired person can move back.
Holy cow! That is NOT the way I expected you look!
5! ;)
