It’s so sad that people can’t just appreciate a wonderfully curated home. I hope negative comments never deter you sharing your beautiful home and ideas of how to make a house a cozy home. I am keeping so many mental notes of awesome features I wouldn’t’ve thought to have/do, not just for a future home build, but how to make my current home more beautiful and inviting. Love your style and so glad you did tours with farmhouse living because Instagram is great, but didn’t do your spectacular home justice.

I love every inch of this house. Some people are just envious of success. You can do anything on a budget, maybe just on a smaller scale!

Beautiful home tour. I enjoy seeing inside and outside people's homes. It gives many of us inspiration on how to decorate our own spaces. I'm so sorry that you and some of the homeowners get negative/nasty comments. Please try just to disregard all of the negative stuff. You are nice enough to address the crazy things people say...I wouldn't devote one second to all of the nasty/jealous/mean-spirited comments.

Gorgeous pool! I can only guess the person who cut the grapefruit from pole to pole never had grapefruit growing up? When she said that, I thought who doesn’t know how to cut a grapefruit, but I realized it’s because I grew up eating them, with the serrated grapefruit spoons, so it only feels like I was born knowing that. 😀. If we hadn’t eaten a lot of grapefruit, cut up by my mother when I was a kid, I wouldn’t have known how to do it either the first time. Still weird to me that an adult hasn’t eaten grapefruit but again, that’s just because my experience was very different. You can also try the formerly fancy way of eating grapefruit with sugar on top of the cut halves and then broiling it just long enough to slightly carmelize the sugar. It’s yummy, too. Not sure when grapefruit spoons went out of fashion but I heard another young YTer recently ask what they were. 😀. Makes me feel ancient, lol.
P.S. I am going to have to track down the video you mentioned because what I saw are things that are in my sketch of my next home, like the built in litter box and the built in ice maker so maybe there are other things I need too. I am not wealthy and my plan for my next home is one designed to my needs, but relatively small. I figure by building just a 2 bedroom home instead of 4, then I can spend that extra money on the things that will make it livable for the last part of my life. It’s just picking and choosing what’s most important for me. Love her gorgeous home, btw. It’s very much my style and full of great ideas.

WOW, such a beautiful and thought out home. My dream home! Thanks so much for the tour ladies. P.S. I believe the difference between ordinary and extraordinary is "detail and thoughtfulness". I completely agree with Stephanie in that although $$$ facilitates certain things, it is not the only key to extraordinary. Whether hosting a party or in one's home, I find it's the personal touches (which can be found on a budget & with imagination/creativity) that makes things extra special. Example; the simple flower arrangements you ladies made has a dainty and graceful elegance to them. That can be achieved with supermarket flowers, dollar store vases, and creativity. I love that takeaway.
There will always be haters but we have a beautiful community and thank you ladies for showcasing your gorgeous homes. Love all the little details. Best chinoiserie tissue canister ever!

It's also none of their business what you spend you money on. When they pay your bills they can say something. You shouldn't have to feel guilty or bad for working hard for your money. The opportunity is there for everyone. This is America after all.
I was a homeless teen mom and now live comfortably own a home and work hard for what I have and I refuse to feel guilty for spending money on boogie things.
Do what makes you happy and only God matters. What anyone else things doesn't.
