They recorded an album with the Troggs when they were covering their songs. Fuck me if they didn't write Wild Thing. REM do covers, fucking loads of them, It is like an education of rock influences for those like me who look at the nod of respect that is given by REM to music that inspired themselves.
This show is Wien (Vienna) 1998. The Passenger song of this show is not easy to find. I saw it once on youtube but now it is gone. Maybe copyright problem. :)

OMG, this shows how bad REM actually are now. Nothing good since GREEN. There really should be laws on bands being able to destroy classics. Listen to Iggy's live Manchester version from the 70's if you need proof.
Stipe is his gay make-up days. Don't mind Gay but despise gay make-up. The drummer in a another time zone. Pushing the beat is one thing but this sucks.
The guitar playing is terrible. I thought the singing might improve things but no. Its amazing to think a top band is prepared to play a song without putting in effort to learn it. Shows disrespect to a paying audience.....
