- I have teamed up with the folks from Just Wood to make a Leather Burnisher.
A lot of thought and effort has gone into this tool to bring you something of quality that will finish the edges of your projects to a professional standard.
You can buy the burnisher directly from Just Wood: www.justwood.co... for £75
Best burnisher on the market. Worth every penny! Improved my work ten fold. Highly recommend!
Just received my burnisher from Just Wood.
I already love what it had done for my edges.
Thanks Nigel
Just bought one of these, very very pleased with it. Cut my edging time by an hour!
Congratulations!! That's a fine tool, can't wait to see what else is coming
Thank you, I'm quite impressed at how much time it saves me. A full belt takes no time at all.
Still working on the other bits with the guys at Just Wood, watch this space.

Ill be checking it out!

I need this
Stupid question - after working on black leather, will it transfer to the edge of a natural / neutral color leather?
I bought this burnisher from Just Wood about two years ago. I would welcome a lesson from you about replacing the abrasive paper. I find it difficult to get it tightly wound.
I like the idea of not making the groves domed for thicker leathers. What RPM is your motor running at?
shame that amongst those rings there isnt a large smooth section for burnishing the back of belts?
Nigel, I have to sell my kidneys to buy that burnisher
What is speed of your motor for leather burnishing? Nice informative video. add some knowledge from this video I added in my brain storage. actually I do some leather leather works and a lot of fine wood works. I normally burnish with hand, tried once or twice with a micro-lathe in my kitchen, where I do some fine woodworking. Now start more leather works, although I am a Tandy gold member and made many fishing related leather works, some for sale and for myself. I have all those component shown you have with me and I normally work with hardwood(exotic). I like leather works, but it don't bring money much and difficult to sell from Canada due to very high shipping price. Thanks again for nice video and I watched many video of yours and bought some items looking at your video.
This might be a silly question. Say I dyed some veg tan red. Have not dyed edges. Burnishing when I burnishing the edges I get red dye colour come out on the burnisher.
How do I get that off, because if I burnisher another item that red is going to end up on new item. Thank you.
Love it! Thanks!!!
Artie, so do I!
Armitage Leather there was no option to ship to the US.
Artie Shell We are working on this Artie, email Jay at jason@justwood.com with where you are and he will sort a price.
Nigel
How often do you need to clean the burnisher?
I'm from Brazil and I would like to get one of these as I can buy it
Still no info on the rpms you require to burnish. And how high would be too high. I'd love to purchase but not without needed info. Please someone post.
Great Burnisher. But £75?
£75 is not much high in European standard income and quality. The wood is not great one, but said other woods are available.
@@bazlur-Vancouver Yes it is. It's waaay too much for a CNC made simple piece without any tolerances.
No way, I think that price is about right. Some dude had to turn this by hand on a lathe and then set that shaft inside strong enough to hold it on a motor going 1750-2000 rpm. It is not bad when you consider the amount of work that went into it and that it will last a long dang time.
I finally managed to save up some money for this tool! I just have one last question - I found two bench grinders for supported 12.7mm insert - the only problem they are rated to 200W and 250W - will it be sufficient enough with 200W or do I need a more powerful version? Next in line are the one with 370W, but it only comes in 16mm version. Pretty much all other more powerful models are with 20mm
Hi what is the timber burnished worth to purchase and post to QLD in Australia thanks Michael
International shipping is highlighted on the website, www.justwood.com
What is the power of grinder and Rmp?
how many rpms is the grinder?
This is great and is a must have! what speed are you using this at? wont a normal bench grinder run too fast?
I'm using a grinder running at 2700rpm and it works fine.

This is a really nice set-up. Two questions for you. Will it fit both 1/2" and 5/8" arbors (not sure what mm is) and does it matter what RPM the motor is 3450 or 1750? Thanks, great video - I think i'm sold on this
Señor de Armitage, me gusta este util, y quisiera que me envie 2 unidades, digame como le hago llegar la transferencia del valor, por cierto mandeme el precio, atentamente.-
how much
Wish you could sell these in the States
Looks like I now can, great
I went to the Just Wood website to see how much shipping would be to the United States, but it seems that they only ship domestically. Am I out of luck because of where I am?
not at all, they do ship worldwide Phillip, the tool has only just gone up on the site and we are still ironing out a couple of things, international shipping is one of them.
I shall speak with Jay in the morning but can drop him and email to sales@justwood.com and let him know where you are and he will sort a price for you.
Nigel
How do I order tools from you. I can't pay by PayPal, don't have an account nor the necessary laptop only a tablet and no printer, very basic, a complete learner. Mike UK
On reflection...It's the best I've seen and perhaps not all that expensive.Well for me it is, sadly.
Your bearings need to be changed on the grinder. It should be completely silent with the exception of start up.
75 GBP for somethng, where material costs
