In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to create an authentic news ticker using horizontal scrolling text with a stylish animated background; then we’ll show you how to apply the vertical scrolling effect to create closing credits.

For last vertical scroll, I didn't knew we could do something like this with text. i.e. using mask to show / hide certain part of text 'by keeping/taking text inside the mask layer' (if I understood it correctly). There's lots of content on basic How To Add Text, but little on presentation quality. How do I make text pop out other than adding an ugly, rectangular back ground fill? Obviously an expert would story board and take shots with planned space for text, but I'm doing my first video and just want to use my existing amateur footage for now. At this point I'd settle for rounded edges and transparency on some back ground fill color but there must be better strategies.

Hmm it looks like all our past videos have more quality selection options than this. We guess we'll just need to wait as the video processing time is quite long. Although the question is more for RUclips than for us)

Sorry I'm too cheap to buy a licence at the mo but I only publish non profit mediocre vids maybe every few months, or lately nearly a year) But I do everything I can to help those using it and love sharing its existence with noobs as it works so well on the basic of equipment.

Hello, the speed of the text scroll depends on the duration of the file on the timeline. The shorter the duration of the file, the faster the text will scroll. You can also adjust the duration of the effect itself, which is located inside the text block on the timeline. Simply double-click on it to find the effect.
Regarding the positioning of the text, you set the frame where the text is placed on the scene when you initially add the text. You can also edit it after adding by dragging the edges.
