We would perform their songs at talent shows at school and lip synch our way through the weekend listening to their music. Great memories. I am 47 now and still remember this precious time and music like it was yesterday.
You’re right, this was a full-on hit! These guys came outta no where and won us all over with this song back in. The 80s. They only had a couple more hits, one was “Shout!” But I think this still remains their biggest. I’ve never gotten tired of hearing it : )
They had a lot of hits in the UK. I guess in the US they weren't as popular?
They were already a hit in the UK and other counties by 1983 and America was introduced to them in 1984 when this song and Shout were released, America fell in love with them and they became the vibe of the eighties. Followed by Head over Heels and other great songs that followed.
@@prappsy3028 It's not that, it's just they were not promoted in the US until 1984 and as soon as they were with this song and Shout, the US fell in love with them. I watched a documentary about them and until 1984, their manager did not market them in America and when he did the first song we heard became an instant hit.
'Shout', 'Mad World', 'Head Over Heals', 'Sowing the Seeds of Love'...... Great songs!!
The best band to come out of the 80s! Songs From The Big Chair is an all around excellent album.
It isssss💯💯💯💯
I always turned up the radio when Tears for Fears came on!
Please make an old lady happy, and react to Aaron Neville’s, Tell It Like It Is! I promise it will astound you!💜
🤣
Im 16, its1984, Jersey Shore, Second floor front porch, lounge chair, clear beautiful night 72 degrees nice warm breeze.
This song comes on the radio.
A perfect moment in time etched into my brain everytime I hear this song.
Forgot what a great song this is. Thank you for reacting to it!
Love this song!! It was released the year I graduated from high school. Those lyrics really hit my thoughts of moving on to my next journey in life..."everybody wants to rule the world", "welcome to your life"...I still get that same feelings now from the first time I heard it. Iconic group!
One of my favorite 80's bands.....Absolutely Love them!!! Seen them in concert 1 time in Santa Barbara....They were Excellent in concert!!!! Check out their songs "Shout" and "Seeds of Love."
Yes one of the greatest hits of the 80’s, I remember hearing this song back then and I instantly fell in love with it. 👍
" MAD WORLD " and " HEAD OVER HEALS "
I Love how your hearing all these classics for the first time. Can't beat this era of music IMO
This was a huge hit in the UK in the mid-80s - and my favourite song when I was 11 years old! :D
Gotta love the 80's. Such energy in the songs but without the screaming. Love it, love it. Also loving you dipping into the Brit music scene. Makes this old girl very happy.
They were one of my favorite bands in this genre of 80's music
Yes, This one is a Definite Classic! Take a listen to Swing Out Sister "Breakout" Jane Child "I Don't Wanna Fall In Love" Robbie Nevil 'Cest La Vie' Jermaine Stewart "We Don't Have To Take Your Clothes Off' . for starters. The 80''s was a great decade of classic, fun & also conscious music!
More great songs by them: "Shout", "Head Over Heels", "Mothers Talk", "Pale Shelter."
Yes I love all of those!
Can't go wrong with epic albums like 'Songs from the Big Chair' and 'The Seeds of Love', not a single bad song on there.
Love pale Shelter what a tune
and mad world¿???
His voice never lets me down all these years later from when I heard him ….the same power every time ❤️
"Goodnight Song", "Woman In Chains", "Famous Last Words", "Year of the Knife" and "Badman's Song" are good ones to get an idea what the band is about.
Woman in Chains 😭😭😭
Such a good song in all ways; lyrics, vocals, instruments. Sounds like it was written for a road trip. Great reaction!
SHOUT is a mandatory reaction for Tears for Fears :)
IT IS💯
I absolutely love your reactions to the singers that I've grown up with this past 63 years. The older music will never go out of fashion, the amount of people who have made cover versions of the older generations music is phenomenal 👌 Most of todays music will be forgotten before the older generation music 🎶 🎵 😳
The song reminds me of the ending of the movie “Real Genius” 1 ton of popcorn kernels ,one top secret space laser and the douche bag professor house turned into a giant jiffy pop bag 😂
Yes, I think of that movie every time. That is a great movie. 😍
No idea what you're talking about. But,know the song from years ago
Love that movie!!!
Kent: "How do I really know this is god?"
Voice: "Stop playing with yourself."
Kent: "It is god!"
@@neilpeartspurplenose8739 Yeah... He even found Kent naked with a bowl of jello!
I watch everyone of your reactions, just love your openness and you appear to be such a sweet and kind person. Love the video also.
This is one of my fav groups from the 1980s. Other great songs from them are "Shout", and "Sowing the Seeds of Love".
It’s so fun to watch the way younger generations hear these iconic songs for the first time. 💙
Next, you need to do "Shout," because it highlights the other of the two lead singers. Both are so great!
Still bumping this in 2020 the 80's were A GREAT TIME for music
Oh yeah! Tears for Fears. Love it.
My favorite group from back then! One of their best songs. Heard it first in 1985. Love it since then.
I remember running out and buying their album "Songs From The Big Chair" after hearing this song. "Shout" and "Head Over Heels" were my other favs from the album 😍
