In this video I show you how to send #Bitcoin (BTC) from your #Ledger Nano X (you can do it with a Nano S as well) to your #Coinbase account.
Keep in mind that you can do this with any other crypto asset you have in your Ledger Nano product. JUST MAKE SURE that you are sending the same crypto asset to the correct crypto asset account (BTC to BTC, ETH to ETH, etc).

Awesome video man. My sister originally set up my Ledger Nano S for me and i wasn't paying attention to how she did it. Now i wanted to transfer the funds back to Coinsquare but i have been hesitant for months because i though it would be a difficult process to do. Plus i didnt want to lose all my digital currency if i messed it up. Your video simplifies it all. Good job! Very Much appreciated!
Hey you bet! Glad that it's helping others like yourself. I was scared the first few times I did it as well. haha Have a great week!
Best tutorial by far I've seen for this situation. Works exactly as you showed. Thank You So Much
Hey you bet! Glad to hear that it was helpful. Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see for future content.
So is it then linked to your ledger live and coin base both? Because I sent it from coin base to my ledger and it was no longer on coin base and only ledger
Excellent! So much better than the Nano website instructions! Thank you!

Very helpful. Thank you so much.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the video. Since I transferred to Ledger about 3 years. I'm not just confident to transfer the crypto to back to my Coinbase. I have to watch this video few more times. I really do not want to lose my digital currency.
Completely understand the hesitation. I'd suggest sending a small amount first before sending whatever else you want to send. I've been in this space for several years now and I'm STILL cautious. haha
Thank you
Thank you. Very helpful.
Glad to hear it!
Thanks for share ❤️

Hey you bet!
Thanks I’ve traded Stocks, Forex and commodities options for years and this still makes me nervous to try🙀 even as simple as you make it look.
Sounds like you have experience! Start small and work your way up.
@@CryptoBlick So once I transfer a small amount to the address, I can use the same address to send the rest, And can I use the same addresses and transfer the same crypto from another account / wallet? I have 4 different crypto accounts with small bitcoin amounts in them and would like to consolidate them in one wallet for ease of trade or sale.
Very helpful. Thanks. Was wondering how to send quant
Glad it helped
thank you !!
You're welcome!
Whatever camera you’re using makes the content feel like a million bucks
Thanks! Still building out the studio but it’s getting better. Appreciate the kind words.
Hi. Can you please do a video on sending XRP from ledger nano x to an exchange like independent reserve?
Hey Crypto Blick thank you so much for this! Very clear instructions. Have a question. When you send your crypto (say btc) to coinbase, if the price of btc went up, does it show the price being higher when your btc hits your coinbase platform?
Yes. Think of your BTC like silver or gold. It fluctuates with the market.
@@CryptoBlick Yes true, I'm new to ledger so didn't quite get the nuances of how it works sending crypto to a platform rather than receiving. Thank you!
There is a slight fluctuation in the value of my btc after transferring between the 2 that can not be explained taking into consideration the fees of coinbase and ledger. Is this because the price is constantly updating in line with market price and no price lock is offered even during the transfer stage?
Good video. My issue is connection errors. Ive ready dozens of articles and watched videos but nothing helps. It almost seems like hardware update issue but i get a connection error on trying to update also. So Im stuck.
Hi Matt: do i pay taxes if i tranfer bitcoing from my ledger to bitcoin at coinbase do i and then to USDC
Thanks for the videos, I have a question for you sir. Is it still worth having a Yubikey along with a Ledger Nano X for ultimate security?
If you’re concerned with someone accessing your computer without having the YubiKey, then yes get one. I personally don’t see the need for it but that’s just my opinion.
Very awesome! Thanks! I imagine you can go from Coinbase account back to your Ledger Nano the same way in reverse. Would that be a correct assumption?
You are correct. I did a video on that particular aspect as well (I see that you found it!).
great thanks! so if you want to sell any crypto you should move it back off ledger to your preferred exchange to make the sale ? you can do this on ledger but the fees are horrendous right ?
Yes you are correct. Ledger Live’s fees aren’t worth it in my opinion.
Why is there a cap on the amount you can send? Won’t that hurt me if I want to send to exchange so I can cash out fast?
From Ledgers end, why doesn't it ask about FIFO,LILO when transacting ?
Hello I just sent piccolo to my ledger live but it did not show up on my ledger nano s plus. It is in the ledger live just not the hard wallet. Any reason why?
us newbies could use a lot move of these
If you send BTC segwit from Ledger do es the receiving address have to be Bitcoin or BTC segwit?
im trying to send my mana back to coinbase but i copied everything u said , but still wont highlight continue after i pick the speed of transaction , any advice?
Five stars ✨
Thank you!
You don’t need ether cuz it’s not coinbase wallet right? I just lost a lot of money to Coinbase wallet
Ok but why do I need this if I have a twelve word seed. It overrides the ledger so what's the purpose . Like why can I recover my seed on Bitcoin wallet and send it to exchange instead. Isnt that safer.?
After you send the btc to coinbase you can unplug your ledger? Or have to wait till the btc is on your account
Nope once you confirm the transaction on your hardware wallet, you don't have wait. You can unplug it.
Is this the same process for CB PRO? Please help lol
How i can send OP token from nano X to my Kucoin
Good morning, Could you please do a video how to transfer Bitcoin from nano s to tangam wallet. That would be awesome. Thanks again Toby
I'll have to add this request to my list! I personally haven't used a Tangam wallet before. Thanks for watching.
Hi. I have my bitcoin on my ledger.Whats better in terms of fees ? Selling bitcoin directly from the ledger or transferring it first to coinbase and then selling it on coinbase?
Currently, selling it on an Exchange like Coinbase, Gemini, Kraken, Binance, etc is the best option. Ledger's fees are extremely high right now.
So the ledger has to be connected and done the password before sending from ledger desktop to coinbase phone?
Hey! Can you have 0 apps installed but send all cryptos which user have to accounts for hold? Ledger Nano S has limit for apps. is this a good workaround? and when I need to interact with specific crypto, I install the corresponding app? Also in my portfolio I will see all data and statistics right?
It's an interesting concept and one I've thought about myself but haven't tried yet. You would still need to at least download the app once to grab the receiving address before sending. From my experience in the past, you will only see the amounts of crypto assets you have that are installed on your hardware wallet that are currently installed.
send bitcoin have fees from ledger ?
I don't see wallet on my mobile app!
Can you send USDT on Ledger to your bank? Or does it need to be sent to coinbase then bank?
You will need to send it to an Exchange to convert it into actual USD (fiat and not a crypto blockchain). Great question!
Hey mate.. how long the battery lasts of nano x? Just give me any idea.. I’m going to buy one within a day or 2
Around 8hrs. If it sits ideal like most, it can last several months on one charge.
@@CryptoBlick 🍻
Hi, trying to send Ether based coin back to CB. Some reason “continue” is grayed out on the second step even though all the sections are filled in. Any thoughts?
You ever figure it out?
Mine says buy eth to carry on?
Hi - great video. Can you send BTC from Ledger to any BTC wallet or does it have to be an "Exchange"? - thanks
Glad to hear that it was helpful! You can send BTC to any BTC wallet and does not have to be an Exchange. Just make sure that you're sending your BTC to a BTC address. Some Apps/Softwares will tell you if it's wrong, but others don't and you never want to lose your crypto assets by sending to a wrong blockchain address. Hope that all makes sense!
@@CryptoBlick Thanks! Yep, certainly understand the importance of only sending BTC to a BTC address. Figured Ledger would let you to send to non-exchange BTC wallets. Just wanted to make sure. Thanks again 👍
can you do one Shibu inu to coiinbase
Can you do the same for sending Bitcoin from Ledger Nano X to Lino please? And if you have the patience :) to Bybit as well. Thank you in advance :-)
I'll add that to my list of future videos! For the meantime, just make sure that you're grabbing the correct crypto asset Receiving address from Lino/Bybit.
Hello
Question on nano s, can you only send it with the actual nano s and a laptop? Like could you not send it say just using your phone if you was at work and the nano s was at home?
If you have your public address saved for that particular crypto asset, you can send anytime without having your Nano S on you. For example, you can save addresses within your Gemini Exchange account, and you can just select that particular address and BOOM it’s sent.
@@CryptoBlick Thanks I see, so if I follow instructions connect my phone to my ledger account is that what you mean? Is it still secure that way? I thought the whole point of this ledger was needing it as the key 🔑 to send it? Have you a video on this subject or could you possibly do one in any spare time. It’s a pretty good subject people would learn from moving forward. Thanks again sir
@@garyhunter9429 appreciate the suggestion. So those long string of letters/numbers that you see when you are sending or receiving is called a "Public Address" The Ledger is your device to proving that you are the owner or the "Private Addresses" or "Private Keys." The reason you "verify your address" on your Ledger is that typically a new public address is created when you want to send crypto assets to your Ledger (this is done for an extra layer of security).
@@CryptoBlick thanks again, keep up the great work on your videos.
Did it ask for your 24 words before sending to Coinbase?
is it always limited to that small maximum amount that you can send from ledger to coinbase or are you able to send a full bitcoin or more?
You can send as much as you have available. I only sent that small of amount for illustration purposes.
@@CryptoBlick awesome. thanks for the quick response! ready to make my first transfer from ledger to coinbase soon. seems nerve racking lol
@@davidchicchi9826 haha yes it is! Took my several times to get other that feeling... but I still double and triple check my addresses to make sure it's correct to this day.
What does it mean on the ledger when it says rhe parent account balance is insufficient for network fees
It means that you are trying to send ALL or MOST of your crypto without having enough for fees. So if you are sending 100 ADA and your fee is 0.1 ADA, you can only send 99.9 ADA. I wish LL would do it like Exodus, Gemini or other wallets/exchanges where you just say how much you want to send and the fee is automatically deducted from what you want to send. Makes it easier.
Okay, thanks I tried to lower amount and it still did the same thing
Yes, i did this exactly as shown but its been 3 hours and its still listed as pending. I hope this is not a problem.
follow up?
I noticed there was not password needed to get into the Ledger app. What if someone gets access to your phone and opens the app to simply send themselves all your crypto. They won't need any seed phrase or anything, just access to your phone right?
You can set that up under Settings / General /Password Lock. You can also enable FaceID. Great catch by the way!
If I send out crypto from my ledger nano s is my ledger still safe
Yes
Do we have to use pc or can we just use our phone?
Unfortunately you can’t on the iPhone. You can on the Android.
Sorry I misspoke… if you’re wanting to update the firmware you can’t on the iPhone. You can send/receive with your phone no problem.
How do you store your coinbase assets on a nano ledger x? Thanks Adam
Hey Adam, I did a video awhile back on how to send your crypto assets from CB over to your Nano X here: ruclips.net/video/0B26nslX_HQ/видео.html Also, make sure to check out the supported crypto assets list on Ledger's website since not ALL assets that are on CB are able to be secured on the Nano X.
@@CryptoBlick Thanks so much i have another question maybe you can assist me, I have crypto and want to move it to a cold wallet....does the crypto remain on e.g. Coinbase even if it send it to a cold wallet in other words do i continue to earn with the amount I have on coinbase even if i stored on the cold wallet? Thanks
@@AdamGell once you transfer your crypto assets to a cold/hardware wallet, they are no longer on CB or any other Exchange. They will continue to move with the market. Think of your crypto assets like gold or silver, whether you leave them at the Bank or keep them in your own personal Safe, their value continues to flucuate with the market.
@@CryptoBlick Thanks very much! So it pays to move the total amount of e.g Bitcoin to the cold wallet?!
@@AdamGell what do you mean by "pays?" Might be a stupid question but I want to make sure I'm not giving bad advice. If you're referring to "it's worth moving" your crypto assets off of an Exchange and on to a hardware/cold wallet... then yes it is. Not your Keys, not your Coins. Coinbase loves to shut traders out with a "we're having technical issues" when there are major swings in the market.
If you send crypto from ledger nano s to a crypto exchange doesn't that give out your private keys or your private ledger address
No it doesn’t.
How to do this on cro app
Lost loads
Does this method work directly to Coinbase pro too?
Yes it’s pretty similar. Just make sure to send BTC to a BTC address, ETH to ETH, etc.
Next question..once you set up a wallet address send or receive can you use the same address for future transactions? Do you have to create a new one each time with Coinbase? Thanks great video...
@@foxmino yes you can use the same one. You'll notice your addresses might change from time to time depending on the particular blockchain because it does that for security reasons.
7:49
Ledger didnt even ask the sender to verify the 24 passphrase. This is not a good
I can't sell on my ledger because coinify will not load just get blank screen?
I recommend NOT selling on Ledger Live, the fees are extremely high and the spread is not good as well. Sell it on an Exchange. Just a thought.
@@CryptoBlick what is best exchange to sell on? Can I send what I have on ledger to the exchange? Thanks.
@@frankjaeger393 a couple top Exchanges in my opinion are Gemini, Coinbase (although, I can't stand them), KuCoin, Kraken, Binance just to name a few. And yes, you can send to those Exchanges assuming you have an account and you know the Receiving addresss to send it to on your account there.
@@CryptoBlick OK, will open account and check them out thanks, I have FTX but I've found there fee's to be very high when looking at buying and I dint like the limitation on how much can buy.
@@CryptoBlick Sorry last question is it risky selling on exchange? If I send whats in ledger wallet to exchange to sell there is it vulnerable in exchange till I sell? Or during move to the exchange?
So if someone got my Ledger and got inn my ledger live. They could hack me?
They would still need your PIN code for your Ledger and they would need your password for your Ledger Live. If they entered the PIN code incorrectly 3 times, your Ledger would be wiped and the ONLY way you could restore your wallets would be to enter in your 24 keyword seed phrase. This is why you never leave your keyword seed phrase on anything digital and you never give it out to someone asking for it.
@@CryptoBlick so, for someone to hack my crypto, they need my hardware wallet and pincode for my hardware wallet and password for ledger live( with 3 atempt) am i correct?
Does the coinbase account need to be totally empty? No money at all there.
No, you can send whatever amount you want to send. If you send ALL of your crypto asset to your Nano X, your CB account will show 0.
@@CryptoBlick I am actually curious if my coinbase account needs to be totally empty to receive bitcoin from a ledger nano x
@@CryptoBlick Also what does it mean transferring bitcoin with a hash?
@@nicholasmantas no it does not. Think of it as like a bank account. It can be 0 or have 100 BTC in your account and you can still send to your CB account.
@@nicholasmantas "hash" is the term for computing the algorithm for the bitcoin blockchain. You don't have to worry about that.
And I'm driving around with a F-n gas can in my back seat?? Yeah right!
In minute 2:24 you start warning people do not send crypto from different coins... BUT..... there are cryptos that belong to other cryptos, like Polygon belongs to Bitcoin. What do you say about that smartypants?
Hi, I tried to sent shib just over 100£ & sending fees show up ;SLOW £31.29, MEDIUM £40.31,FAST £50,31! why is that much? thanks
It all has to do with the network fees. Also, SHIB is not supported on Ledger currently.
