Interesting the person recommended this song, as your intro to the band. They have MANY terrific songs. They were big in the mid to late 90's. I would think the song they are most known for is "The World I know".
Collective Soul awesome! They played a club here in 2000, and overloaded the electrical service… They blew up a pole transformer which in turn knocked out several city blocks wor of power! 😂

They have other great songs off this LP.....GEL....also SHINE.....DECEMBER....and WHERE THE RIVER FLOWS....you would really like them
I've seen Collective Soul a couple of times live, and they are very good live, I've been a fan for about 30 years. I work in a Cannabis Store in Ontario, Canada and we have a casino across the road from us. Last summer, some of the crew and band members of Collective Soul came in to the store, and I spoke with the base player, who was very lovely to talk to, and a fun experience for me. He was so gracious and kind and gave me 4 tickets for that night's show at the casino. Of course I went with some family members and it was great. The bass player was looking for me in the audience and waved once he saw me, and that was a thrill for me.

Oh, do dig deeper for this amazing band. Still one of my favorite, Heavy is a great song, but they have so many hits. Great band! The World I Know, December, Shine, Precious Declaration, etc.
Good music, lyrics have great meaning
That guitar riff throughout that repeats through the song is reminiscent of a riff in Whitesnake’s In the Still of the Night.
It is 90’s sound for sure…but hell, that guitar overdub with the wah wah was right out of the 70’s……I thought of Jimmy Page for a second.

Have you heard their song “The World I Know” yet? It is a very special song and the official video MUST be watched as it ties to the story in the song. You will love the song. It can be emotional.

Collective Soul, Better Now
"SHINE" is their big hit. Try that one. Much better than this.
Good song, but probably not a good choice for your first listen to Collective Soul. Their first single is a big song...the kind that most ppl really like.

easily their worst album first 2 were ALL hits every song.
