As someone who has been severely bullied, outcasted and abused by her peers for way over a decade now and has developed C-PTSD as a result, this song really speaks to me.
Sadly I can also relate. 7 years of bullying and almost always alone at home. I have CPTSD and social anxiety now. I've changed schools and made good friends though so I'm getting better now
Yesterday the person who hates me most ripped my mask and kicked my butt his shoe and dragged me across the floor. Now I don’t want to go to school because nobody helps me not even the teachers
This makes me wonder if I do have C-PTSD or not because it’s hard to distinguish the symptoms from my autism as they can be similar and both would make me feel isolated from everyone else but I know I have horrible trauma from this because like you I was severely bullied and isolated from most of my year/grade in primary and secondary school. To be honest I wouldn’t be surprised if I do have it because it did really affect my mental health and self esteem AT LEAST and every time I think about it it’s horrendous and I feel all vulnerable again. Plus, I got betrayed by friends in both primary and secondary school so I can’t even fully trust any of my friends now because I might trust them to a certain level but I don’t trust that they’re not like the others and they’re not just secretly hating me. But then again that could just be my autism as it was diagnosed when I was a little kid, or it could be them both overlapping if I do have that
I just realised that the "victory in sight" was the boy's suicide. this song tells a story like so: -boy is bullied to breaking point -boy kills himself as a way of saying "Fuck you, guys, you feel bad now, assholes? Fucking better." - narrator is criticising the boy's bullies trying to get it through their thick fucking skulls that "Hey, this kids fucking death was your damn fault, you bitches. Hope you feel damn sorry now!" You get me?
Grimmson is my favourite colour I think it's actually supposed to imply the bullied kid eventually snapped and shot up the school, hence the "wishing that they all were dead", and the final "look what we did" indicates that in the end, the kid became just as bad if not worse than the bullies, hence the "beast" referred to throughout the song.
It does make sense. And there are assholes that do regret what they did and feel terrible when people do take their lives. Sadly not all of those pricks care.

*"It's just a game of pretend"* really spoke to me, and by far my favorite line. In short, my "friends" (my friends now, back then not) made me feel like i had no control. They took advantage of me. There was a whole group. This kid there kept asking me to date him and i always turned him down. But i felt this pressure, since everytime he walked away ashamed, his friend would comfort him and tell him i was blushing and i liked him. During that time my parents were fighting. Arguing, and sometimes fighting. My brother hated me (or thats what it felt like). My hamster died. I gained depression and severe anxiety. My friends (not part of the group that made me feel uncomfortable) always made me happy in such dark times. Except one day, out of nowhere, she decided to play "marry" with the group. They walked towards me with the kid who would ask me out. But to me suprise, she was with them. I felt betrayed to discover the only person who didnt make me feel left out had joined them. They still have not apoligized to this day.. I began to have suicidal thoughts. And through it all, i pretended to be happy. It feels like everyone is after me, they hate me, would like to see me suffer, and yet i have to pretend to be happy because im not confident enough to stand up for myself

What's my dream? It's a bit cliche in a sense, but I do feel very passionate about it. I want to become a singer. A singer like Cody Carson here. I don't know if it'll ever come true...but Hell i AM going to try. I've always had a thing for making people smile, laugh, entertaining them, giving them inspiration. The fuck you lookin' to make people happy in a song that's literally about people being shits? Sure it's relatable but why here? But yes, I understand, I want to cook, I want people to taste my food, particularly deserts and say "this is pretty good" with a smile, I want to see people enjoy the food that I made it's satisfieng to see people being satisfied with something you have created, it's truly a great feeling, even if you want to be a singer, it's good to see someone smile about it.

Hits different when you WERE the ones they're singing about a short time ago. I was going through a lot of shit and found comfort in the idea that I could cause fear in others, and that I had power. It was 5th grade, everybody treated me like an asshole, so I chose to earn the title, the whole time justifying my actions as "revenge". I got this from a book I just finished reading: People tell stories about themselves, and it hurts to realize they aren't true. Yes, I did good things. I started with good intentions, but I became the very monsters I claimed to be fighting, and became "friends" with those monsters, who convinced me I was funny and should keep going. Of course, my actions were my own, but it's particularly on my "friends" for making me worse and enabling my shitty actions.

It was 5th grade, everybody treated me like an asshole, so I chose to earn the title, the whole time justifying my actions as "revenge". I got this from a book I just finished reading:
