You should really only be playing the lowest stake games in order to get a feel for live poker. Once you have that a basic grab on the fundamentals (which is seems you have) you need to get to atleast 2/5.. There’s a few reasons for that (1) you’re going to have a tough time beating a $12 rake at 1/2 and are not going to be turning any type of decent hourly rate if you do. (2) they way you have to play at 1/2-1/3 in order to be profitable is going to instill some bad habits in your game which turn into huge leaks once you get into bigger stakes. If you can afford to buy in for $500 at 1/3 just buy in for $5 and play 2/5. Good luck man

The problem is that there are a lot of gutshots available (KJ, KT, JT) and it's unlikely he will fold those heads-up in position to a
Hated the play on the first for the exact reason that happened. Out of position with a hand that unless you get a flop like Q99 or 8-10-J you really don’t know where you stand. Long term it’s a losing play.
The Q,J suited is a fold.....your dominated by so many hands. Not sure how far you are from foxwoods in Connecticut. They have a good size poker room. Haven't been there in a few years but they usually have a lot of $1/$2 tables
The guy calling you on the river with K high is exactly the guy you want to give action to. I think your JQ call was correct even if you knew he had AK.
Why the hell would they give you a hard time about a backpack? Half the players at most casinos have backpacks…phones, music, some snacks (or food), extra cash (probably not a great spot), etc.
The QJhh call is fine. The math is close, but the call is good for the game and your image. That can pay off later, more than the instant value of that small pot.
A2 I’d probably check oop against a good player. You’re in bluff catch mode here and he’s likely to fire all K10 and heart combos twice if your perceived range is capped. Think what does all of your range want to do here? Do you bet JJ? Probably not. Do you ever have AK to protect your flop checking range? I can’t really see getting to the river, getting called by worse. If he’s good, you’ll be in sticky spots on bad runouts. A check raise/shit down if called perhaps?

I love Chasers!
@@DukeyBets I’m there a lot! Like printing money playing in there!
Hated the play on the first for the exact reason that happened. Out of position with a hand that unless you get a flop like Q99 or 8-10-J you really don’t know where you stand. Long term it’s a losing play.
Gotcha, I agree. Thanks for the feedback!
The Q,J suited is a fold.....your dominated by so many hands. And yes when you make an almost nutted hand at 1/2 you want to put in $$.....I play at MGM Springfield(No filming) 2-3 times a week and im a really tight player, only show down monsters, RARELY bluff and ppl still pay me off😂😂!! And i personally think 3 betting A,J gets you in trouble in long run....your probably not getting called by worse....I mean you were suited but. Keep up the good work!! Every session is a learning opportunity!
Thanks for the great feedback + comment!
You ever go and play at twin rivers??
Yes. I don’t like that place at all.
Got a great/fun/REALLY splashy 1/3 game here in Rhode Island I run, would love to have ya! Plays more like 5/5, great guys, beautiful loft location, safe and secure!
DM me on Instagram please..
Are your from MA? South shore?
@@nddst77 Yes, and yes!
@@DukeyBets same. You should come film in our home game. ;)
are poker rooms in NH 18 or 21
NH is 18. Except Gate City is 21 i believe
I like how playing 3-4 hours is playing "all day". :)
Certainly not "all day," that statement was in reference to filming for 4 hours, and then being told to stop.
@@DukeyBets - I'm just messing with ya. Good luck with your poker journey. I always wondered if I could make it as a pro, and then I quickly realize just how fast I would lose my money and be broke. I wish ya the best!
Isn’t the rake terrible?
Correct. Mentioned that in the video numerous times
Why is it 1/3 instead of 1/2? 1/3 feels awkward
Tbh not too sure about that. pretty much plays like 1/2 tho
Not sure how far you are from foxwoods in Connecticut. They have a good size poker room. Haven't been there in a few years but they usually have a lot of $1/$2 tables
Also, not sure if they allow filming
I’ve played there before. Pretty solid spot, i don’t think they allow people to film tho unfortunately
I actually live in Massachusetts but the only room in New Hampshire I've played at is Seabrook. Any recommendations as far as poker rooms in NH?
Mohegan Sun is better than Foxwoods in every way, except the Foxwoods tournament chips. That said, I don't think either lets you film, so...
Against that specific player, I'd put it in with QJs even if you don't think you have the equity. He's giving you action, so you should reciprocate.
Yeah fair enough, thanks for the comment!
The guy calling you on the river with K high is exactly the guy you want to give action to. I think your JQ call was correct even if you knew he had AK.
@@lmrbeerbellyl Yes absolutely! Thanks for the comment!
Why the hell would they give you a hard time about a backpack? Half the players at most casinos have backpacks…phones, music, some snacks (or food), extra cash (probably not a great spot), etc.
My backpack was “too large,” the allow smaller handbags i guess but they didn’t like my school backpack.
twin river, ill see you there.
The QJhh call is fine. The math is close, but the call is good for the game and your image. That can pay off later, more than the instant value of that small pot.
Thanks for the feedback!
Poker atlas bro.. be waiting whilst driving there.
Shut* don’t shit please
Got it. Thanks for the feedback!
I’m here for all of it baby
you should play at chasers in new hampshire
I love Chasers!
King high 😂
yeah haha pretty crazy call here
$12 rake in a $1-2 game are you crazy? Are you just playing for fun?
Yeah the rake is extremely foul, hence why I said I was unlikely to play 1/2 there in the future!
Great stuff man!
Thank you Ryan!
That guy called $30 with King high?? I gotta go there right now
Yessir. And he also fast rolled it.
Cool vids man- hope to cross paths with you in one of these sessions.. Encore floor/ staff making conflicting and inexplicable rulings.... Shocking, really. 🤣 You got it right, find a better game.. Perhaps Twin River/ Bally's? IMO the best games for these stakes are in NH. Also.. is the name an ode to the Dickie Betts in some way?
Never heard of Dickie Betts, but yes I love playing in NH!
@@DukeyBets Dickie Betts- Allman Brothers Band Guitarist 1969-2000. Just a coincidence I guess!

U should go to Rutland, heard it’s unbeatable
Rutland owes me so much money.
